Not sure if it's "monstrous" enough, but maybe you could give a go at redrawing my Egyptian-styled sorceress? She could use a more coherent Egyptian look/feel and some cleaner art, if you'd be up for some design work.

Is MTG back to trying to appease to an audience that don't buy their product either way? Back in 1995 they removed all "satanic" images and names from the game in order to "clean it up" after pressure from parent interest group. A few years later, they brought demons back and nobody batted an eye. Now we have the removal of "cheesecake" art and characters from the game under the pressure of internet groups, and I cannot help but think it will be the same.
Same with silly statements like saying Narset is autistic to get brownie PR points.

So we had Jaime Jones tweak the piece to meet those standards for Duels. Nissa's original art will remain wherever her card appears—on her card in the Duels game, in Magic Online, and of course in booster packs of Zendikar.
There's no hidden agenda, except trying to sell their product as far as I can tell.
