What does your jumper do for St. Patrick's Day?
So, jumpers.
We talked a lot about being faithful to those we love. But how possessive are you?

Turn the sky green during the day, and the Moon green during the night.
i just started playing DnD, had third session today, and out of our group of 7, i already see two "that guy"s.
i'll start with the lesser one.
a warlock that has described himself as a perfect looking, beautiful kleptomaniac that hates gold.
literally does not interact with the party outside of trying to steal anything of value we have, and threathening that he'll PK anyone that handles anything gold, that he can see. (yes this includes coins)
second, and even worse "that guy", is our rogue (of course). male player playing chaotic neutral female character. made a fucking 15 minute long presentation of his back-story (that he's super proud of and retells parts of as often as possible, the whole thing is a cringe-fest straight out of hell), that basically boils down to: thief that got caught by bandits, raped to death, resurrected by unspecified godess of fertility, has dagger that vibrates when close to rapists, only goal in life is to kill all rapists in the world. spends most of his turns praying to said unspecified goddess of fertility, and checking if his dagger is vibrating. somehow manages to be less useful than our bard that does nothing but spam prestidigitation (managed to lure some wolves away from the goblins we were going to kill, by creating a scent of meat in the other side of the cave).
is there anything someone a bit more experienced than me can come up with to deal with these guys?
as a side note, i'm playing a wood elf druid, who's backstory and traits boil down to: cowardly but tries to be brave, uses alcohol as substitute for actual bravery. i'm stuck being both the tank, and the main damage dealer, as well as off-healer, because the combat of our 7-man campaign is practically completely left to me, the cleric, and the dwarf monk that refuses to use armor (wears nothing but a bath-robe)
oh and btw, supreme "that guy" insists on being called "V the Violated" even OOC.
>>52231034
What edition and what level?
If 5e, being a druid makes you super-powerful by the time you hit level 2. Warlock can't do much when he's being mauled by a bear. Use gold as normal, which will provoke him into a fight he can't win (or has to struggle in, anyway).
>>52231034
Leave or kill the characters the first chance you get.
The warlock is easy simply act as normal and the minute he tries some shit go at him full force and kill him.
The rogue...just never back him up. Ever. In any combat try to make it so you and him square off against whatever threat. Isolating yourselves with "we got it" or some shit.
Then never actually assist them in any fight.
Best I can think of.
You could also just tell them how cringy they are being and they are actively making the game less enjoyable.
>>52231034
ask the DM how he wants to handle Mr. PK. any answer other than "his attack will fail guaranteed" means you should ignore the player and play until PK follows through, then walk away. There is no salvaging Mr. PK, but you might be able to salvage the DM.
antirapist is harmless.
ignore your backstory and take the initiative since these jokers will not do so.

If I were to play a character that is specifically asian, I'd probably have to make them aFOOOOLISH SAMURAI WARRIOR.

By throwing the character sheet in the trash and starting over with a western character.

Spyfall - It's a fun, short game about bluffing where one person is a spy and the rest of the players know what location they are in. Players ask each other questions to get an idea about who is the spy and who isn't, which can either be really fun or shitty depending on how creative your group is.
Codenames - Much the same, it's about giving hints and banking on your friends getting it. Also short and quick to pick up.
Bang: The Dice Game - Everyone's got a secret role except the sheriff. The sheriff is trying to survive, the vice is trying to secretly aid the sheriff, the outlaws are trying to kill the sheriff, and the renegade wants to kill everyone before killing the sheriff. Every player gets a unique power based on the character card they draw. Games are short and the dice keep things memorable.
Cash 'N Gunz - Point guns at each other and try to go home with the most loot. Short, sweet, and easy to learn.
Sheriff of Nottingham - You're all trying to smuggle things for points and the sheriff, a rotating role, is trying to confiscate contraband. It's all about bluffing, bribery, and abuse of power.
Dixit - Someone says a clue about their card, the rest pick a card from their hand that closely resembles the clue. Once all the cards are set out, the players vote on which card they think is the original. Kinda like Apples to Apples or Cards Against Humanity but with art instead of words.
depends highly on the number of people in your group
2-5
Arabian Nights, essentially a choose your own adventure board game, works perfectly with 3 people because you are doing something every turn even if you're not the active player
7 Wonders: drafting based civ builder. Everyone gets a Wonder and you draft cards to use them, has light resource management but nothing obscene because your resources empty every turn and you only care about the players to your left and right. Very past to run games, allows for a lot of socializing while playing
Epic Spells Warz: card based game where you're all wizards trying to blast your opponent's to death. Gameplay can be full of counterplays or just pick 3 random cards form your hand and string them together.
5+
Werewolf or any variant, Shadows Over Camelot, Mafia, etc. Versions with cards are fun and can have more advanced rules that are usually limited by memorization but the regular party game is plenty passable
Secret Hitler: Another hidden role game which basically adds game rules to shit talking, also comes with a toy gun that you can shoot people with
Mafia de Cuba: hidden role board game with a twist, players get to choose their role (they choose to be a thief by stealing diamonds from the Don's cigar box OR take a role chip OR take nothing) allows for some interesting back and forth since you have some idea what the players who took before you are, lots of bluffing and shit talking.
games I would recommend avoiding
Cards Against Humanity: Memes aside, it just gets old very fast, you either pile together the most foul combination of cards you get or try to be clever and get ignored half the time. It's hardly a game, just everyone getting drunk and reacting to random combinations of dirty words and dated political satire
Exploding Kittens: like CaH in that half the game is just shock value, the gameplay amounts to glorified War
>>52230745
Cyclades for 3-5 people. You CAN play it with 2 people but it's really imbalanced. The more people you have, the more balanced it is, imo. Think a Risk/Catan mix. Looks intimidating at first if you're going by the rulebook, but it's really easy to learn and is actually quite simple. It can also be short or long, depending on how long people take to do their turns. I've seen 5 minute turn cycles and I've seen 1 hour turn cycles.
Walkers are cool and definitely vehicles, no debating Edition

First for Ynnari!
Fluff question; Do you think a sufficiently high ranking Imperial noble could rent a Callidus assassin from the Officio Assassinorum to entertain them and their friends at a party?
Asking for a friend.
this came in the mail yesterday.
wat do?
Humanity as we know it, is extinct, and is the Progenitor species responsible for all of the mystical artifacts and crumbling ruins strewn across the galaxy. All species are either descended from humanity, or were xenos that evolved after humanity's passing.
>>52229266
The Sol system is covered in a massive ion storm, making it a very dangerous place to visit. But it is said that those who reach Earth will find paradise
>>52229354
The ion strom was caused by the last "remnants" of humanity (a highly evolved sub-species) turning the Earth into a massive generation ship to voyage into the depths of space between galaxies.
In fact, they are completely un-intentional.
>>52229266
NASAghouls roam the kuper ring, they pursue forever, always taking one, small step...
3d printing is going to be the death of Games Workshop. How can they compete with this sort of quality?
>>52228450
People still buy BL novels and GW fluff books dude. Not everyone cares about quality.
>>52228450
You need a good 3D model, a decent printer, and the knowhow of how to get a good print out of your printer to get anywhere near GW quality right now, yeah.
Still, there's a decent portion of the market that would settle for "good enough" just to have models they can play the game with friends with that 3D-printing threatens right now. Probably only a small portion of GW's current market, though, since most of them wouldn't have gotten into the hobby to begin with.
Actually, IF 3D printing pulled those people in, third-party pirating could actually HELP GW since it could act as a gateway to buying the more-detailed models.
People meme about this a lot, and for the moment they are right, I don't want that ugly ass dreadnought. However, like all technology, it is just a matter of time.
Once a 3d printer that has sufficient quality comes to the sub 1k mark, piracy of GW minis will fucking explode.

Worldbuild/premise before or after players tell you what they want to play?
http://www.strawpoll.me/12550821
So, this poll has the favourites from the last series of polls. It's multiple choice, so choose your favourites – preferably your favourite three but it's ultimately up to you how many you choose.
And keep in mind, the final results of this poll don't mean anything.
Remember, 4e is a viable game, and at the very least, the DMG has a lot of good general advice on how to run RPGs sadly absent in the 5e DMG.
After they tell you what kind of campaign they want to play
Before they tell you what manner of Dragonborn Mystic/Wizard/Fighter they plan on playing
>empathy and introspection rolled into charisma
>sensorial capability and common sense rolled into wisdom
>perception is a skill
>armor doesnt give DR
Why is this allowed?
>wanting 12 different stats rather than a nice compact game
>thinking that a sword hitting solid steel plate is going to do any damage at all
None are as bad as being a dumb frogposter.
Because it's not a realistic system. Now shut up and tell us this "perfect" system you like that has no problems whatsoever.
>Hates psykers, mutants, sorcerers and tyrants
>Joins the faction that unabashedly embraces psykers, mutants, sorcerers and tyrants
Does Mortarion have the absolute worst reasons for joining the heresy? Even being insane (Kurze) is more valid reason than his.
>>52227077
Nurgle didn't exactly give him a choice, with the whole "hey Typhus, turn off his Gellar Fields and infect everyone" thing.
>>52227077
Horus and Mortarion were bros, and Mortarion had a grudge against the Emperor for saving him at Barbarus.
>>52227077
literally everyone besides Angron was a psyker, sorcerer or daemon when he turned, although arguably he might not have just thought Kurze was crazy.
Khan even mocks him over the fact that his only 'sane' allies who didn't dabble in the warp were Kurze and Angron. One of which was a Farseer and the other was the Deamons.
