Other than people talking shit on the internet, I've never once seen or heard of this. I've been playing for over a decade, part of large and active communities for at least five years, and worked in a game shop for one. Nobody I know or know of has quit because of random fluff.

3 deck metas are fine. I remember Pokemon Black & White era, one of the best periods back then had three broad deck archetypes in tier 1 (Landorus, Darkrai, and Keldeo) and everything else was tier 2. It was great fun; the 3 decks had a neat rock-paper-scissors aspect to them AND even the unfavorable matchups weren't too lopsided.

This is just because they want a low powered standard, but guess what when you want a low powered format as soon as you print a decent card all the deck will revolve around it because the rest of the set is trash.

I hate that now they only try to catter to new player so now they can't print anything that will hurt timmy feels or is too complex for him. Like even when they design a world now you should only create a world that is based on the pop culture understanding of the source material or how all the world should be a theme park.
