4e is pretty cool.

How would you do "feats for races" for unusual races like genasi or orcs?

My character had to sacrifice pursuing the girl he'd been crushing on to marry for political gain. It was the most obvious fucking trap in the world and the GM was a huge fan of GoT and Russian history so I knew I was going to get backstabbed at some point.

Spent the better part of an in-game year preparing for it.

And then one day she saved all our asses, revealed she was a half-celestial Paladin, and that every time she'd mysteriously disappeared from the castle during a crisis, she was off fighting evil. I was pretty damn relieved, because I'd really let her grow on me by that point.

Well, for system you can't beat Cartoon Action Hour. Tailor made for that kind of silliness. As for theme, you can't really do any worse than anything that's already been done. Japanese media frequently and hilariously makes fun of sentai tropes.

I don't hate 5e necessarily, I just hate that people think that it's literally the only RPG option outside of Pathfinder.

The one that jumps to mind immediately is world of darkness. I mean its not like there's a terrible amount of baked in system things that can make one system do horror while another can't, but WoD was made for horror stuff. I'd just do blue book mortals and maybe get hunter for extra monster making rules.

Why can't there be something between those two or combining their virtues? I love the whole "learn to surpass your limits" part of Hive, but I fucking hate the fact it's engineered as a state to suck hard and keep people low. Meanwhile Drones are all fine and dandy "everyone profits", but they completely lack the awesome overcoming aspect.

And so I always end up stuck with Gaians as the best faction, despite them lacking any of those two aspects, but making it up by not sucking.

That has become Lazav, as the deck scales entirely with how strong the table is. Once I have a good idea of table strength I can upshift into Oona or middle out with Rakdos.

After pulling an invocation at prerelease of stuff I already had I chose to sell it and buy some stuff the LGS had for this deck, namely Vampiric Tutor and Damnation, but I would like more feedback on it. it won't let me add Canyon Slough to the deck yet but it replaced Rakdos Guildgate

D&D 3.5. avoid all combat rules except for the most basic.
easy to make homebrew agricultural rules, fill in the rest with skills. good thing is you already have all produce and shit listed.

It's a pretty obscure system, dunno if you've heard of it. It isn't for everyone, but I can say this, it's got great rules for verisimilitude, you really feel like you are your character, it's awesome. I'll spoiler the name though, it's a little triggering for some folks, it's called Real Life.

Harnmaster or GURPS. The core rules won't have what you need right there, but check out Harnmanor and GURPS Low-Tech plus supplements. A little extra research will be required with some house-ruling as necessary, but it'll be doable

I'm really not sure what this is supposed to mean.

But if it reduces HP for all PCs, then expect full party wipes whenever they roll badly for initiative. A bit like Shadowrun, if Shadowrun's mechanics weren't mostly about enabling the players to ensure the party either gets a surprise round or doesn't enter combat at all.
