Hello again fellow creators of /qst/. After a well deserved pause, I'm here again to continue our journey into the Regional Evolution of our Moon Worlds. We will be visiting Region 3 of Janus for this thread.

As GM, I'll do my best to actively work on phylogeny charts to track the evolutions, and also make random events for the world to drive evolution down new paths. Since this is the first time I've done EvoGames focused in a Regional perspective I'll be experimenting with how I approach these threads for better viability later on. Also we will be going to Region 3 of Rienia next thread to explore life's evolution there.

How to play:
• Open an image of a species in MS Paint, or your editor of choice
• Make one evolutionary change to that species
• Save as .PNG!
• Post your new species in the thread with a description of what evolution you've added and why.
• Details indicating what the generation of your species is important. Please indicate. (Base Organisms are Generation 0)
• Details regarding a creatures size or name are encouraged, but not required.
• Nothing too outlandish. Anything silly or derailing will not be considered a canon species 95% of the time.

Notes:
• Unless stated explicitly, no species ever goes extinct. Old species can still evolve, even if they're not on the latest "chain"
• Try to make your evolutions gradual and realistic in biological standards.
• Everyday I'll add an update Phylogeny Chart to track changes. These take awhile, so please be patient.
• Expect a Random World Event at least once per thread to shake up the world and game.
• There will be no Mass Extinction Event in the near future, so enjoy building and evolving to your hearts content.
• When this thread reaches its endpoint, we will be switching back over to Moon World Janus next thread.

resent Setting: As Janus enters the Late Magedivatian Era, another tectonic shift expands and molds the ocean's currents. This shift of the Janus' landmasses adjusts the global thermohaline circulation of the worlds oceans, bringing with it warm waters currents that reach far beyond its tropics. Region 3 of Janus is where the majority of the planet's landmass can be found. It is here where some of the most unique and diverse environments have sprang up, such as the Misty Deserts of Mirium and Blofka. They are an oddity when it comes to deserts, as these deserts experience precipitation daily from mist drifting from the many freshwater lakes of the world. Elsewhere you see the archipelagos of this region with individual islands that shift from tropical climates to glacial taigas. And then there is the massive Estuary of this region that rivals Earth's Lake Superior in volume. Life here is provided with many opportunities and niches to grow and diversify.

You sit with your legs dangling off the edge of the rusty fire escape. You swing your legs and rub your eyes, it's been a long night. You allow your eyes to slip shut as you think about your night: you stopped a petty mugging, a car thief, and had done fuck all else.

You sigh and open your eyes, they burn and ache almost begging for rest. The night is not through yet however, as you push yourself off the rusted brown frame and think about how you got where you are but find the door to your psyche slammed shut as a vibration rattles your skull.

Welcome to Robo-battles.

Submit your robot. You have 10 points to spend total, which you can divide into HP, Attack, and Defense. For it to be a valid contestant, it has to have a design; it can't just be a description.

Each robot starts at level one. The goal is for your robot to become champion and hold the title as long as it can. But in order to do this, you must be strong - and strength, in this case, is gained by defeating other robots. If you respond to another bot's post by saying "I challenge you", those two robots will have a duel. When a duel occurs, both bots' attack stats, multiplied by the last number in their post, divided by the opposing robot's defense stat, will be subtracted from the other robot's HP pool. (hope that's not too convoluted.) When a robot's HP equals zero, they die and the one who killed it levels up, gaining distributable stat points equal to the level of the robot they defeated.

The goal is to become champion and keep the title for as long as possible. This is achieved, obviously, by challenging and killing the champion. Each past champion earns a spot in the "Hall of rip", forever immortalized as a fallen hero.

Our current champion is I, Cybot. Robo-battle, commence.

This is Allahu Ackbot, the newest challenger to the robo battle arena! Well, he isn't really a challenger, as he has only one purpose...to slay Cybot by any means necessary! You're not tired, but maybe you can ignore them this time. All you'll have to go by is sound. Who knows what they'll be up to when you open your eyes again?

You try, but you don't keep your eyes closed for long. Sometimes you see trains or nice things when you close your eyes, and the goblins come and derail them. The tracks get broken and the trains fall into mud and they're too big to dig out.

You're waking up a bit in your purple blanket and starry pajamas. It's dark, and a soft cottony sound is pushing on your ears.

The chamber was humid with steam rising from several heated pools where small creatures swam and fed on algae or each other. A tree made of branching bone rose up from the ground, its leafless crown lost in the ceiling above that flickered with an imitation of a night sky. In the center of the chamber were two glass pods laid on their side and opened, bio-gel splashed over the edge and puddling around the feet of the former occupants.

The pair of Warblood stretched their limbs as they looked around the room, their tongue flitting out instinctively to taste the air. Wiping the bio-gel from their scales they quickly move to the waters edge and lower their heads to drink deeply. One of them stands, their dark scales shining in the soft light as they turn their head to look around the chamber closely while the other focuses on trying to snatch an eel from the pool.

The inquisitive Warblood runs their large claws over the bone trees branches curiously, taking a startled step back when they accidentally break off one of the thinner branches then letting out a laugh that most other species might take as a threat. Tossing aside the branch the Warblood inspects the room, occasionally dropping down to all fours as it explored each corner. Finally it returned to the other by the side of the pool and took the offered fish, the pair hungrily devouring their first meals. They spoke haltingly, testing out words they somehow knew but never had actually spoken, sharing their names which were their designated codes while they were growing.

A portion of the far wall suddenly separates and pulls back before sliding away and Guir enters silently. He stood in the back and observed the Warblood as the door slid shut behind him, leaving no indication of seams in the surface. They continued to eat undisturbed for several minutes until he began to approach, their heads snapping up and quickly rising to their feet. They stared at the Blackscale, the empathic sensors under their feet detecting recognition and confusion as Guir lifted his hands and stopped several yards away from the larger reptilians.

A twisted grin spread across his face, "Greetings, my kin, I am Guir. Welco-" he did not get a chance to finish as the sensors detected a sudden surge of aggression and blind rage flashing through the Warbloods moments before one of them inhaled sharply then spat out a ball of orange flame. It washes over the Blackscale as its venom ignites on contact with the air, the necromancer recoiling instinctively as the other Warblood launches itself claws first heedless of the flames that would not harm it.

Yet both reptilian and flame passed through the Blackscale unhindered and the hologram flickers then fades with the last wisps of flame. Enraged the Warblood begin to rampage through the room in search of the missing Blackscale, who merely watched the display standing next to Valresko from the safety of an isolated chamber.

Guir sighs and shakes his head, "How disappointing."

You are Judah Ben Hibbeus sent on a quest by the King to defeat the pillaging Profiteer (pieces of gold be upon him).

You have been traversing the desert in search of the Profiteer's palace. Ever chasing after its blue domed mirage but try as you might you could never find the true palace.

After a battle with the desert hauntress, Nicki Miraj, you now posses the Mirage Mirror - an enchanted item that the sage cactuses assure you can help you find the true location of the palace.

But before trying the mirror and heading for the palace your curiosity sent you on a sidequest into a broken pyramid and a battle with a Golem, constructed by small robots.

You have tamed once enemy, turned pet and companion, /b/ the bee, and named him Screwbis Bundletwigs along the way. He has since proven useful and has even saved your life!

After fleeing the Golem created by the small robots, property of the Profiteer, you once again find yourself in the desert. Taking refuge in the settlement of the Sage cactuses, ready to continue your journey.

I allow between ten and twenty minutes for voting depending on the importance of the issue and how divided the vote is. If the vote is tied up, I usually allow an extra five minutes for a tie breaker, and if no one votes, I roll for the tie breaker (The will of the dark side).

I always try to incorporate (and encourage) write ins if they don't violate the spirit of voted decisions, though I may edit or tweak them to fit better.

You are Commander Alana Tyrna, commanding officer of the Victory II-Class Star Destroyer Splinter and her associated task force. After an abortive attempt at mutiny on board your new Lancer-Class Frigate, Turmoil, the mutineers are all dead or in captivity, with Turmoil herself in the hands of a skeleton crew under the command of a young, fiercely loyal ensign from the engineering section. Your Executive Officer, Lieutenant Tierce, was seriously wounded in the fight, though his condition is stable. Now, just as you were recovering from the mutiny and the apparent hijacking of Thrasher, word came in that Kuat was attacked, and shortly behind it, a Rebel fleet here to apparently attack Trellen's orbital facilities

Your fleet is out of position, the business with Thrasher and Turmoil[ delayed your approach, and now the Rebels had a head start for Trellen.

Trellen itself is a moderately populated world that has seen a modicum of prosperity because of its strategic position at the intersection of two Hyperspace lanes. Trellen is no Commenor, but it sees a fair amount of trade. Or at least it did before the collapse of the Empire. Since Endor, the desiccated garrison was beefed up under a series of warlords until at last it returned to the true leadership of the Reborn Emperor. Primarily, it has a civilian orbital Highport, a small naval repair depot, and an aging Golan I defense platform. The Golan has a handful of turbolaser batteries, enough to make smaller capital ships think twice about their approach, as well as a squadron of Tie/Lns.

These defenses, manned by aging and poorly trained troops likely won't last long against the Rebel fleet alone.

"Send forward the Ties and Carracks, but leave the Avengers with us," you command, "Standing orders are to stay close to the Golan and fight off enemy fighters."

As your orders are executed, you mentally take stock of the Rebel attack fleet approaching Trellen. It's a smallish force, based on what you've heard is rumored to come down on Kuat. That being said, this particular fleet carries with it only a handful of transports, not enough force to land troops, on the planet.

As you watch your fighters scream away, toward the orbital complex, you know a small reserve fleet exists at Fedalle. You could smash these rebels completely if you just had one Imperial-Class star destroyer at your disposal. You could probably call for one from Fedalle. It would arrive after some delay for jump time, but it would also be drawing from the same reserves ear-marked for use at Kuat, which you know is currently embroiled in its own fight against the Rebels. Rumor has it the Emperor himself laid a trap intended to smash the upstart rebel fleet.

The alarms and sirens are still screaming, shaking the floors of the castle and making the walls jiggle in tune with their shrieking rhythm. My ears are already aching, and I can't imagine how bad it must be for Iris. Oh poor iris, this has to be so much louder and painful for her since her ears are a lot more sensitive than mine are. The maids are frozen in shock, like they're unsure of what they actually have to do when they're in danger, like sheep....exactly like sheep actually. It'd be funny if I wasn't worrying just as much as they were! Something is invading my castle! my home! And I don't know why they are or even what they are. For all I know they could be angels, or they could just be local beasts that chewed through the legs of my moving fortress. It could be anything, demons....or even more of those chaos monsters that I am also now technically as well. But I think the alarm said there were only four of them? SO maybe I shouldn't be panicking as much as I am but my babies could be in danger right now! I bite into the back of my thumb, chewing it as I cross my three other arms and try to think, folding my wings over myself as my skin turns yellow and dark orange, with a bit of red mixed in at random spots.

Tapping my feet on the frosting floors, I'm once again bathed in the red light pouring from the gumdrop lights hanging from the ceiling, as I glance back at my girlfriend. Poor Iris...poor iris is wincing in pain, her arms still wrapped around me as her bat like ears fall flat against her head, doing their best to muffle all the noise blaring around her, literally making her and me shake, but....well I'm shaking a bit more than she does. My inky black blood is still staining her pale lips, looking a bit like like smudged lipstick. I'm still feeling a little drained from her drinking me, and my neck is still aching...but only just a bit.

I hug her close to my chest, nearly burying her face in it since I'm still a bit twitchy and panicky. I can feel my heart beating as I try to figure out what to do at a time like this....what to do...what do I do! WHAT DO I DO!?

General rules:

Write-ins for all votes are always welcome and encouraged. They may not all make it into the post or be altered to fit in, but I'll do my best to at least try to address the spirit of the write-in.

Combat mechanics involve three rolls of 1d100, taking the best, and using the base accuracy and crit ranges of the game, roughly, but the 'turn order' will be more like the anime, where sometimes you can do a few moves in a row or be hit by a combo of moves yourself, all depending on circumstances. Stronger moves tend to take more time and have more cooldown than weaker moves, so beware of that timing. Speed is more important for closing ground, intercepting, and other things and doesn't necessarily mean going first. Infact, you can do more than one move in a row like the anime, but so can your opponents.

Call me out on a mistake and receive a suggestive picture, mostly likely a butt.

"Pah, forget it!" Piccolo growls. "I'm not wasting my time with something so childish."

"ENOUGH!" someone roars from behind you.

Turning around, you see the final fighter stomp forward, growling toward Goku and Piccolo, his tail slamming against the ground.

"I will fight both of you!" he declares, pointing at the two. "I will face you both at once, and be the victor!"

"Are you crazy?!" King Kai demands. 'There's no way you can beat those two!"

"That's where you're wrong, Northie!" West Kai declares. "Maraikoh can take your boys no problem."

Maraikoh chuckles, rubbing his hands together. "So, what do you say?"

Goku smirks. "Alright, if you're that confident, why not?"

Piccolo still seems dissatisfied, but goes with it. "Alright, but this better not be a waste of my time."

West Kai chuckles to himself. "Oh, I think you'll be impressed."

Goku seems to take that boast well, grinning in the direction of Maraikoh as he leaps off the Lookout and lands on a nearby rock formation. Piccolo scoffs, but does essentially the same thing, finding his own rock formation and perching on top of it.

Maraikoh steps off the side of the Lookout and lets himself drop to the ground below, creating a loud crashing sound as he impacts below.

"I hope this guy knows what he's getting into," Krillin comments. "Goku or Piccolo by themselves are bad enough, together they must be unstoppable!"

You had come to the Holy Land after a request for aid from your brothers in the newly-formed Templar order, and traveled with them to a mountain pass Northeast of Acre, and joining a Saracen horde in battle there, suddenly found yourself in another world, along with your Teuton brothers and Templar allies. Gunther and Sebastian nod, contemplative, but Veit and Sigmund frown, clearly having some objection to this. The Southlander, Veit, is the first to raise objections to this.

"Victor, boy, are you sure that's wise? We should work on training more knights, or calling our brothers who abandoned us for the Templar Order back to our side!"

Sigmund, while less confrontational, is of a similar mind. "Mein Prinz, I would not put it so... crudely, but Veit's suggestion has merit. Might we not issue a call to our German brothers, to protect one another?"

Gunther leans languidly in his chair, an easy grin on his face. "Meine bruder, worry not! Back in th' homelan', m'father usually sent 'is knights back'd by bowm'n to clear out bandit dens. Is'n effective comp'sition, they compl'ment each o'her well."

Veit sputters at this, trying to poke holes in the theory, but Sigmund simply remains contemplative.

"Very well, but, Sir Gunther, you must remember, we have but a force of Seventy and Two Hundred men strong, and it is split into five warbands. If we were to utilize bowmen, we would need a greater wall of defense for them."

It is at this point Sebastian (known as the Clever in some circles,) speaks up. "Well, Brothers, I have two courses of action for you, then. Action the first, we all band together, and march as one army. No more singular warbands. Action the second, we call on our German brothers in the Templar Order to join us." Steepling his fingers, Sebastian leans forward. "Of course, both courses of action have their positives and negatives."

Sigmund nods. "We would have to coordinate our commands more often, if the first." Veit fills in the second.

"And I doubt the Templars would appreciate losing around 500 men from their ranks."

The silence hangs heavy in the tent.
