You wake up crumpled on the ground, covered in a slimy substance that lies around you mixed with shattered glass. You don't remember much, you don't even remember your name.

Of course, you are Maxim Daniels, and there was something else about you, something very important.

Oh yes, you have powers, very powerful ones, you can do things no one else can do for no particular reason.

What were your powers again?

Previously... Miho Tsukada, the Heavenly Child, has met with the Sentinels, who claim to be the heirs to an ancient legacy of magicians and guardians. Perhaps more importantly, she has begun to uncover the truth of her lost memories. Having made peace with her lost sister, and having found a new friend in the cheerful Chiaki Jackson, the future seems bright for the Heavenly Child. Yet, fresh revelations put a darker spin on things, and soon the Heavenly Child was left wondering who to trust...

If you didn't know better, you'd say that the Kanzaki Compound was under siege.

Armed men – body armour, Belgian assault rifles, the works – stand around in a tight cordon, while drones flock like birds above. You'll admit to a certain nervousness as you approach the checkpoint, freezing in place as one of the drones drops down from the sky and aims a blunt muzzle at your face. Not the gun that you first suspected it to be, but a camera. As the drone rises back up into the sky, you note a few ribbons of black electrical tape fluttering beneath it. Signs of recent repair.

Maika did say she'd try and fix the thing. It looks like she was successful.

As the drone vanishes up into the air, you see the security guards – almost as one – listen to their radios for a moment. Then, moving with clipped and efficient motions, they move to let you pass through their ranks. Grateful for the distraction – even if you are just trading one kind of unease for another - you scurry into the main building. It's only when the elevator stops up at Maika's sterile seeming room that you can relax a little.

Not having guns pointed at you certainly helps with that.

“I do apologise for that hassle,” Maika says, her voice drifting through the empty chamber. Above you, projectors display a constantly changing sequence of images, culled from countless cameras and broadcast feeds. Mostly the security outside, men patrolling with their rifles at the ready, but also a few more benign scenes. Drones, you assume, flying through the evening streets at giddy speeds.

“It's like being a bird, seeing how they must see,” Maika remarks, somehow noticing where you look despite her back being turned to you, “Delivery drones. Kanzaki Automated Industries makes all kinds of them, delivering everything from fresh food to Hellfire missiles. Sometimes, I like to borrow their eyes. It's quite wonderful.”

“Sure, Maika,” you reply slowly, “Is this your, uh, research?”

“Yes, I must admit, I've not been nearly as productive as I'd hoped,” reaching up, Maika swipes an armoured gauntlet through the air, “This little fracas has quite spoiled my good mood. Paranoia has a tendency to be contagious, I find. Hopefully, with you here, we'll be able to get a little more done.”

“I... see?” you ask, shifting in place as your unease returns, “No, scratch that, I don't understand that at all. Why would that help?”

“Because, Miho, now I have a reason to show off,” finally lifting her visor and turning your way, Maika gives you a faintly hungry smile, “Never underestimate that, in terms of motivation.”

This is probably her way of being friendly, you realise with vague dismay, which is concerning in its own right. “I'll take your word for it,” you reply after a moment, “So how does it work, this research stuff? Is it like... checking Wikipedia?”

“Better than that. I'll have SAE handle all the legwork,” lifting the helmet free, Maika smooths down a few errant strands of hair and sets the gleaming piece of equipment aside, “I was going to focus on our Sentinel friends. Jun Kiriyama, Karl Dietrich, and a boy named Pietr – incidently, I plan to check missing persons records for him, although I don't expect much. The apartment address, as well, maybe I can figure out who owns it.”

“Is that... legal?” you ask, alarm creeping into your voice, “I mean, these all seem like the sort of things that might be, you know... private.”

“These days, there's a huge amount of information in the public domain. You could access it yourself from the Grand Arcology if you wanted, from the official archives. Of course, anything really interesting would be sealed away,” pulling the helmet back on and lowering the visor, Maika starts to pluck at the air, “But still. Back doors. Is there anything else you want me to check for, while we're here?”

Summary: In this quest, we're basically playing as a slowly mutating soviet who secretly supports the monarchy and hates the communists. We've managed to escape the Russians, and now we're in 1939 Nazi-occupied Warsaw.

Character Sheet will be up soon.

Announcement: EDQ is going to be on delay for a while, I just find it a bit boring currently and I find this new and exciting...

You drowsily blink your eyes slowly... You have the worst headache imaginable, along with making things worse, no vodka or steak... Or vodka-steaks.

You turn over on the couch, and find yourself needing to use the restroom, and as you get up... You really do notice that it's much easier to see and see in the dark as well.

Huh.

You head to the restroom, and begin to use it... After your done, you go to check out your face...

Your... Well, your eyes seem a bit different... There's a slight, slight glow to them, and they seem to have turned the iris from blue to... Well, dark blue.

You also note that your eye pupils have become slightly larger in the dim light, and go back to normal with more light... Same with the slight glow of them too. The glow itself is a bit off-putting, and has the slight shade of blue to it as well...

Certainly strange.

You of course, desire little more then to crawl into a bed, eat something greasy, and possibly either die or sleep. Or both.

You of course leave, and notice Big Ivan's sleeping in his small bedroom, while you have the couch...
Nicely enough, he gave you a blanket and pillow... Or did you steal them? You can't remember... All you want however, is to lay down and let this hangover fall off...

Actions

>...Today is your day off. Rest until the hangover goes away...
>...You can do things today. You just... You need some extra encouragement, that's all you need... (Lose 1 Sanity, -1 to all rolls today, but you'll do stuff rather then rest.)
>...Grease... Grease is how true Russians get rid of hangovers... Along with water. Lots of water.

You are 22 year old Hank Dalton. You're racing to save a little girl from an awful fate at the hands of some Skinwalkers. You don't have much time, and now the road is blocked.

Something about that fucked up old Blue Bird bus gives you the willies, you smell an ambush. Well mostly you smell the acrid smoke from burnt animals still spiraling into the air. Your hand hovers over your MAC-10 but you ready your Smith & Wesson M27 instead, not wanting to throw hot brass all over everyone else in the car. Jim readies his burp gun (his empties should mostly go out the open window) and, much to Del's chagrin, ejects the Blondie tape.

"Aw man, I wanted to hear the one about the Man From Mars that eats cars." Del pouts.

"Maybe on the way home," says Chief, cocking his old cowboy 10-gauge. Hopefully he doesn't fire it next to your ear.

The dirt between here and Skinwalker Ranch looks stable and not too badly rutted, though you may have to dodge a couple bushes. Jim's Riviera has fat tires, posi and a decent amount of ground clearance so it's pretty much off road ready, right? Might have to dodge a bush or two but you've run your El Camino through worse terrain than this. You lock eyes with Jim.
"Dukes o' Hazzard it?"

Jim shrugs as as if to say he ain't got no better ideas. "Just try not to fuck my car up much worse than it already is."

You ease off the gas some and swerve the Riv off the road and into the dirt. The normally floaty suspension jolts and bucks over the bumps but the big beast doesn't lose much momentum. Gunshots ring out as you get closer to the bus, at least one thuds into the Riv's fender. Two shooters, maybe more.

"He shoots you dead and eats your head," says Del dreamily.

Jim retaliates with a few bursts from the PPSH, you'd join in but it's hard enough keeping the car straightish and dodging vegetation. A boom right behind your head damn near blows out your left ear, god dammit Chief! One lucky shot takes out your front left tire. The front end starts to plow into the dirt, you're gonna stop whether you like it or not, so you pull the Riv behind the pitiful cover of a few 3 foot tall shrubs.

A 40mm grenade from Zoe blows the front end off the bus, but a few armed assholes are still climbing out the back or hopping out windows.

A) Shoot them a lot with your M14
B) Radio Zoe and see if she might spare another grenade
C) Have Jim throw his grenade
D) Try to limp the Riv out of here

Basically, we used to play quest threads on /tg/, and lots of people enjoyed them. They got so popular on /tg/ that people on other boards started having their own quest threads.

After a while, the former site owner decided that all quest threads had to go on /tg/. This caused problems, because there were a LOT of /a/nime quests, and they were almost invariably of very poor quality. This heavy influx of low-quality quests soured a lot of people to the idea of quest threads in general.

Later, a mod was put in charge of /tg/ who didn't like quest threads, so he made the /qst/ board. Unfortunately for quest threads, almost all of the people who enjoy them are on /tg/, and there's no incentive to lurk a dead board hoping that a quest you like will show up. Because of this, /qst/ is slowly dying. Threads on /qst/ are automatically deleted after three days, which helps to conceal the fact that this is one of the most dead boards on the site.

Pic related is some of the early quests from /tg/.

Could you give me an archive link or screencap of your favorite quest thread?

You wake up from the noise of feet running over wooden planks. Through the window of your cabin you can see a sky full of seagulls and only a couple hundred feet away a port city booming with activity. It seems like you have arrived the final destination.
As you make your way through the cramped ship's corridors and out onto the deck you realize that you can't actually remember why you even embarked on this trip... at the same time it doesn't seem too important for you. You wonder for a second how it can be that you are perfectly comfortable with the situation when you have just awoken in a place you don't know for a reason you don't know either.
The wind breezes through your hair and you notice your heart beating faster in anticipation of what is waiting for you.
As the ship finally halts at the port and the bunch of travellers, saleswords and adventurers who accompanied you on your journey begin disembarking, you notice an edgy object in your pocket.
This should surprise you but it doesn't. You open the box and read the single line that is scribbled on the note:
Kill the King
Content with what you read you throw the note into the water and descend down the plank onto the cobblestone streets of Tassia.

You don't carry any items of significant use with you except for a black pen with a golden nib and some minimalistic ornaments.

I just want to do a bit of storytelling and I only have some roguh outlines for the world and the story so I'll take things freely.
This will also go at a slow pace, I'll see how things develop.
There aren't really any fixed rules as game mechanics.

Well considering that this is still a quest, let's go to the nearest tavern and see what awaits us
>>
>>1428233
You head into the city to look for a place to get some information and company.
Past the initial array of warehouses and shipping companies you quickly find yourself in a colourful labyrinth of streets, squares and marketplaces spread out within. Just at the other end of the square you are currently at you see the "rum and beers", an inviting tavern with a bright yellow sign.
Closer to you but at the entrance to a narrow alley is a smaller place that could be mistaken for a private workshop if it wasn't for the hastily scribbled sign next to the door promising food and a bed.

Lets go into the "bed and brekfast" to get a room for the duration of our "visit"

Welcome to Tribe Evolution. You will take the role of one of three tribes on an island and develop a civilization with a unique culture and history.

Rules:
>Every turn is a new day
>Every turn you can do one action and research
>Research - Laws, Technologies, Arts, Customs
>Action - Trading, Hunting, Scouting, Organizing
>I will update with stats on each clans progress every turn

The Frog Clan live near the shore of the lake on the northwestern part of the island. They spend most of their days independently sitting on giant lillypads and eating. Being carnivores, they subsist on a diet of insects. Their moist, porous skin means they adapt incredibly well to the lake shore, but they will be in grave danger in hotter, drier climates.

The Chicken Clan live in the jungle in the southwestern part of the island. They are largely territorial and follow a strict pecking order, the alpha hen being the main leader. The alpha spends most of her day stalking around finding food and calling to the other tribe members to eat, who blindly follow. Being omnivores, they eat mostly insects and seeds.

The Bunny Clan live in the hills bordering a river. They spend most of the day reproducing and forage around for food independently. Since the sprawling meadow is large, its easy to lose tribe members and some can be gone for days and sometimes never return. They sleep in burrows near the river that they dug, and subsist on a diet of wildgrass.

We will start when every clan has at least one player.

Let me know when you are here

***

Having acquired the 'fax' tool made by Okaba, we go back to the Empire and give one to our think tank there, after properly explaining its use and purpose.

The sages are quite interested, but seem to think of it as a curiosity, or perhaps a interesting advance in magic theory, rather than a useful tool.

Well, let's show them how to use it, bit by bit.

Having done that, we are on our way back when Yin catches up to us.

"Sir! If you are coming to the capital, please stop by the office, would you?" - says the nine tailed vixen before taking a big sigh- "there's always documents needing your approval, you know?"
"Ah, yes. Alright. If its just approving..."

And so, we are led by the hand to the office, where Yin places a plate with documents in front of us.

There's a field report by the sage we sponsored to work on germ theory. The results are that indeed, he found diminutive monsters in the blood stream and other tissues of dead and sick people, which leds him to think that there might be some way to prevent disease spread if these incredibly small monsters can be fought somehow.

He's asking for extra funds to look into ways to do just that.

Approve?
>Yes, let him go on as he has done so far
>No, we can probably set up better procedures with our rather basic knowledge of hygiene.

We authorize his research, and sign the document once we've added our suggestions.

Yin looks approvingly, nodding from the side.

She looks quite beautiful in her official robes... well, they've been designed by Ren to show her off for our viewing pleasure... and it works quite well.

As we look at her soft and generous bossom on display, it is actually without any lewd thoughts in mind, but purely curiosity...

>"Would you like me to milk you?" - we are intimate enough, certainly. It's a beastkin thing, right?
>Ah, instead, let's try and see if we can make good lewd use of our low desk

War, war never changes.

You are the Courier, but you have changed. Once but long ago a nobody, now your name is known far and wide across the dunes and spoken of by the tongues of men. You are a man who rose from the dead, spoke to Ghosts and Emperors, met the Gods atop the mountain, and reshaped the Sierra Nevada as you saw fit.

But for all your accomplishments and deeds, the words of General Oliver still ring clear in your head.
>Do you know what your doing! Making a nation - like you think you're doing, ain't like chowing down on a pile of Fancy Lad Snack Cakes.

You took that challenge to heart. You have made 300 year old bombers fly to the heavens, and killed Death Claws with your bare hands while naked. Now you have a new Quest added to your gold and diamond studed Pimp-Boy 3 Billion: Forge a Nation in your name.

You've survived the Wasteland with flying colors, but can you conquer it?

---

Welcome to the FNV Empire of One Quest. In this scenario after battle of Hoover Dam, the Courier, having kicked ungodly amounts of ass, wants to try and tackle the Wasteland on a much bigger scale and establish his own Empire. Not any old City State like New Vegas, but a real nation like the great empires fighting for the Sierra Nevada, and dream of possibly expanding even beyond these deserts.

This thread is mostly to set up the character's background and some basic motivations/goals, I'll be preparing the proper Civ style quest for them to lead later in the week.

Players can vote or write in, first to three votes or whatever majority.

Today is the day, the very first day where you decide to bring the Wasteland out of its dust and rust into a new golden era not seen since before the Great War. You reflect on all that you've done, your reputation and where you stand today. Which empire do you intend to forge?

CHOOSE

>Bearer of the Golden Branch
You are a hero of the New California Republic, having routed the Legion at the great Battle of Hoover dam and been recognized for your velour and honor in battle and in service to this great nation. But the NCR is still a corrupt and flimsy nation rife with deceit and corruption, spread out to far and too wide until it is nearly bled white upon its own size as bandits, monsters, and other threats continue to flourish in its own borders. The bear is being bitten and stung by a thousand different pests, even as it fights for its superiority over the Bull. You intend to see that change, and the Bear rise up over the former American territory.

>Hero of the Empire
Ave, true to Caesar. You have served the Emperor well, having won him Hoover dam and a ticket into the west. Your face is spread far and wide upon the minted coins of his Legion that carves into this blasted wasteland, ripe for the taking. Unlike the NCR, the Legion finds its strength in unity, discipline, and most importantly leadership under Caesar and his most trusted generals. But its reliance on intentionally stifling technological advance in favor of skill ever proves a disadvantage in more and more cases, as the NCR only increases in knowledge and size. Constant oppression and subjugation of enslaved territories proves almost as much as hassle of logistics as the NCR's great size, as troops must maintain constant vigilance against dissidence and rebellion. Despite opening the door to the West, the Legion cannot move further without sacrificing its own gains. You ponder on ways to permanently affix this, and break the Bull from the chains of those it has enslaved to carve a greater Empire than even Caesar dreams of.

>Vegas' Trump Card
You are the best investment ever made by the smartest man on the planet. Vegas stands as the closest thing to what the Old World once was, but like Mr. House himself is still but a ghost of its former self. Although you activated his robots and won full independence for New Vegas, the old man ever proves to be limited in his sight, perhaps a product of his great age causes his care to limit itself to his precious city. Vegas shines, but only just, and the rest of the Wasteland in darkness. And even the New Vegas of today pales in comparison to the Old World. Prosperity is caught in the cold metallic claws of the Securitrons. Can you break out of the rusted walls of this ancient city and make Vegas truly shine as the capital of a new empire?

Hexworld lays divided, the ancient Hexpire that enveloped this world having shattered centuries ago, leaving nothing but petty empires and groups of scavengers, rogues and other such scum. You’re the leader of your town, fighting against the odds to maintain your survival, will you succeed, or will the annals of history count you as just another ancient ruin to be pillaged clean.

first off choose your towns tech level
-medieval: your town was created by the scattered remnants of other cities, unable to reclaim any of the ancient technology of the Hexpire, you people lack technological wonders, yet make for it with grit, determination, and a higher physical threshold from your daily labors.

-scavenged: your people have lived their lives as scavengers excavating and jury rigging the ancient technology to serve their needs, while unable to completely replicate the wonders of the Hexpire, your people are quite capable of maintaining and even recreating some of the lesser technologies of the Hexpire you've found in the ruins.

-Advanced: Your people are lucky, having occupied an ancient Hexpire settlement or building that relatively intact for two hundred years. Your people possess pieces of ancient technology that allow give them an edge, you people are adept at understanding and operating Hexpire wonders, however you're low in numbers and your settlement is often seen as a jewel by many a raider to be pillaged and stolen.

-Esoteric: descended from practitioners of ancient rites and magic. your people occupy the ruins of a Hexpire library on the subject, your people are capable of evoking arcane forces to do your bidding. This has the problem of requiring years of study, and channeling the forces takes a toll on the magus' body, however with this power you can bend the laws of nature to your whim.

Pick a new character, new location and new name or continue the story of Batt Teria, it's up to the people to decide.

There are no rules to this quest, it doesn't need to make sense so just try to have the most fun!!

Switch over to Cisperko the wandering saint. Let him gaze into the sky above and see the glint of Batt Teria's crotch flame.
He will mistake it for an archangel and go in it's general direction. He quickly ends up in a back water titty bar upon which in a related event to batt teria, he some how becomes the owner.

You are Judah Ben Hibbeus sent on a quest by the King to defeat the pillaging Profiteer (pieces of gold be upon him).

Flying through the desert on your magic camel you've just defeated Nicki Miraj. However, in the heat of the battle her Mirage Mirror had fallen into the hands of one of the nasty desert creatures known as a Hashasheen Tumbler.

After going to the king and being granted a new pair of pants to continue on your journey you went back into the desert and headed west.

But before long your camel, badly injured from the fight, finally burnt out.

No matter how far you go, or in what direction, the wavering image of the blue domed palace seems to always be before you and it's never reached.

What do you do?

>You have missed something very important. Roll a 2D6 for a free hint or you can try to figure it out on your own.

Yup, you got it!

I'll keep your +1 for the next 2d6 roll since you figured it out without the roll.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…

STAR WARS: WARLORDS

It is a time of great unrest in the galaxy. The destruction of the DEATH STAR II, and the deaths of DARTH VADER and EMPEROR PALPATINE have thrown the galaxy into a desperate scramble to reassign the balance of power.

The NEW REPUBLIC, born of the REBELLION, wishes to remake the old, democratic precursor to the Galactic Empire. They have conquered, or received from defectors, several worlds that the Empire used to hold. They have made lightning strikes against the core, and have even taken CORUSCANT! However, the location of their true headquarters is unknown.

The IMPERIAL REMNANT, holding on by much more than a thread, is composed of Admirals, Generals, and Planetary Governors trying to forge their own legacy, and carve away their own little part of the galaxy. The largest fragment, led by GRAND ADMIRAL THRAWN, is making its way to the UNKNOWN REGIONS.

The WARRIORS OF MANDALORE are marching in a new rebellion! They aim to take advantage of the chaos, and perhaps restore the Mandalorian Empire to its pre-Republic glory. Led by the legendary BOBA FETT, they ride from MANDALORE, slowly expanding across the outer rim…

You are ADMIRAL JANUS CAIN, commander of a respectable warfleet, consisting mostly of the remains of the Caridan defense fleet. You lead from the BLIND MAN’S GAMBIT, a Victory-II Star Destroyer, and operate on the ground with the DARKEYE SQUADRON, an elite commando unit consisting of your best troops. You have under your command:

2 worlds:
>Phaeda
and
>Anobis

>100,000,000 liquid credits
>360,000 Stormtroopers with your fleet
>~100,000 Troopers on Phaeda
>100 AT-ATs, 200 AT-STs and assorted dropships with the fleet
>3 Imperial-class Star Destroyers, 1 of those Mark 2, 30 Victories (1 and 2s,) 2 Acclamators loaded for troops, 12 Tartans, 7 Nebulon-Bs
>160 TIE squadrons, 40 TIE bomber squadrons (with the fleet). TIE Wings have 10 TIEs, Bombers have 5 per

It’s a rare moment of peace for you. You stand on the observation deck of the Gambit, gazing out at the semicircle horizon of Phaeda, framed by a backdrop of stars and inky void. As you watch, one of your ISDs warps back in from a reconnaissance mission to Kuat. It’s been quite a while since you’ve been able to kick back with a nice cup of simcaf and just watch the stars… Since you shipped off Anobis, in fact. You could reminisce, or you could get on with your job. In the world of an aspiring warlord, there’s always something that needs doing…

>Reminisce (resume where the quest left of, skipped back a slight ways)
>Pick up from here
And we’re back! Note that I’m moving to the d20 system used by my other quest, ODST quest, which has a base DC of 12 on all rolls, unless stated otherwise, and boosts equitable to your level in a pertaining skill. Agility controls dodging and ranged weapons, for example.
