You find the teleporter leading out the hellicarrier, and proceed to enter your postal code. You step onto the platform and blue light begins to surround your being. In a flash of white, you’re suddenly transported to the outskirts of Somerset. This is less than convenient as your house is all the way on the other side, bordering Franklin Center. Damn it. Guess you’ll just have to bus. You should really learn how to fly soon, what the hell kind of super hero buses around town?

10 or so minutes later your feet hurts and your knees are kind of creaky. Super powers your ass, Psychic shit doesn’t help with cardio it seems. Maybe you should set up a sort of workout routine? After all, your psychic prowess (or at least, what you’ve mastered) can only go so far. Little exercise never hurt anyone. You look up from SHIELD HUD that you’ve been using as a GPS and notice you’re in a kind of rundown neighborhood. There’s a car not too dissimilar to the one those Hydra assholes smacked you in during your first run in with them. In fact it’s actually dented, you must be getting close!

Just then, you hear someone scream. It’s not even that distant either, not a black down from you, coming from that alley! You rush forward at top speed, lungs pumping and breath heavy as you skid to a halt at the entrance of the alleyway. You see three guys backing a woman into a corner, she’s clutching her purse as they try to wrench it from her. The gleam from the sun alerts you that two of them have knives, the other clutching onto what you think is a gun.

Should you save her? If so, how?

>Announce your presence! Auger is here!
>Shout out to startle them, then ask they let her go.
>No warnings, get in there and start psychic blasting these fools!
>On second thought, is it worth getting shot? You could totally block it but it’d be a hassle…

You are on a small rowboat. You are traveling to a foreign land. Your reasons are your own.

The boatcat seems to be uninterested with conversation. Perhaps you should introduce yourself.

...You remember your name, don't you?

"Seymour..."

The boatcat seems to do the closest equivalent of an impressed whistle.

"Never heard of a name like that. Why do you travel to a land such as ours?"

...You remember your reasons, and why they're your own, don't you?

SLAM.

Step.
Step.
Step.
Step.

The footsteps of a certain annoying adult slowly fade into the distance as she leaves your room, and leaves you locked inside. Yuuki, the chief of the fun police, has returned you to your room after your previous attempt to escape. She insists that you need to sleep for at least one night this week.
You turn toward the bed to maybe consider, just for a second, getting some sleep. Then, you see Charlotte laying in bed, and notice how exhausted she looks. One of her knights going missing has taken a harder toll on her than it ever could on you. Charlotte still sleeps as if she did not notice Yuuki rudely displacing you back into your room.

Your brow furrows. Sleep can't win this game just yet. You're going to prove Yuuki wrong.

You are Louise Lacerte! The beautiful; only slightly-tired hero of Gallete, and let no one tell you otherwise! You've been awake for what you think is the past week. Maybe it's been two weeks! Who knows? It's hard to tell anymore as time has become something- something- or another. That's not important, though! What is important is that Charlotte, your guardian and summoner, has been awake at least as long as you have searching for one of her missing knights.

Even as Charlotte sleeps; you can tell that it's not a pleasant slumber. She has been tossing and turning in the middle of the night, and her waking hours are consumed with worry of the missing person known as 'Odelle'. This makes the third or so day that they've been looking for her, and you're not sure they're any closer to finding her than they were a few days ago.
The green-haired knight named Felice was on the case today, and spent her entire shift looking. You suspect that she hasn't made any progress, as she would have informed Charlotte by now if she found her.

Once again, now that all of the adults have failed at their task; it's up to you to save the day!

If.. only you felt a bit more awake. Also, if Yuuki didn't lock the door from the outside when she was leaving.
Hmph.

You could teleport out of the room, but that's rather loud and you're certain Charlotte would notice that. You could also try opening the lock with your- Oh forget it, that sounds like too much work.

You concentrate for a moment, and then put your hand to the lock. The mechanism inside fizzles as you hear a faint click. The door opens without resistance.
Heh, Charlotte would yell at you if she knew you could do that!

Now that you've freed yourself from prison. How do you proceed on your rescue mission, now?

>There's no time to waste, rush outside the castle and immediately get to searching for Odelle!
>You'll need an accompli- er, some help for this. Go bother Kayda, she's always helpful!
>Well first, make sure you're properly dressed and have your weapons before you leave your room.
>You first need to wake up. Go downstairs to the bar and get that stuff that Jack usually drinks in the morning! That seems to wake him up!

Time is a slippery mistress and never more so than within the realm of dreams. Perhaps it’s because the mind treads more lightly in that quiet darkness, a less critical eye turned over a myriad of passing fantasies than what we reserve for what we deem reality. Curious then where that would leave the seer, for whom those things are often one and the same, young Cici’s mind’s eye turning rapidly through a dozen different scenes most likely in-between, her mind filling with images even as her body lay there wrapped in darkness.

That is: a darkness composed of dark feathers and the black, rubbery eyestalks of a certain beholder to be precise, the young gorgon flanked to either side by friends that were more like family as all three snore peacefully through the night and the voices turn pages in the other room. Cassandra, the matron of the household, had also gone to sleep sometime earlier, more or less falling on the wide mattress she called a bed and passing out within seconds rather than going through the motions of sliding beneath her sheets. Over the weeks, that had seemed to be the case more often than not, the life of a baroness taking its toll more-and-more even without the added stress of taking care of three children.

Still, she never offered any direct complaint for her lot as concerned her private life, nor did she likely have any to vocalize. No, best to save those for the next time the city council suggest she remarry a man twice her age for political influence. Still, as she dreams of no doubt simpler times, the voices find her daughter’s subconscious a source of unmitigable distraction, the pages of their reading often forgotten as images flow from her mental space into theirs.

Somewhere in the forest, there was an oni sleeping like a stone, great snores escaping her open mouth and an empty bottle clasped in one hand as giggling lamia bind her long hair into twists and braids that wouldn’t be discovered till morning light. Her brother meanwhile continued to chomp away at scraps of what must have been the leftovers from an incredible feast, a massive crab’s shell hollowed out husk, bereft of its contents and legs, telling a tale of battles fought and won.

The second-hand sight is bizarre to say the least, more like an incoherent blur than the smooth progression of a film reel. Nevertheless, it somehow conveys its full meaning before a different scene abruptly takes its place. Now come the roaring seas and churning waves, the smell of burning oak and the sound of screaming over rough water filling the air as metal rings on metal.

“I’ll not bow to you, boogie man!” shouts a voice full of false bravado, a streak of yellow running through a man made of iron. “Ye’ll have nothing from me save a second death if ye come any further, ye understand?”

“Monster?” comes a question, a familiar voice twisted into something terrifying that speaks of fire and fear from all directions. “Oh, heaven’s no. It’s not me you should be worried about… It’s him.”

The man turns and his spirit dims. Fire and flames, burning eyes like coals set in the visage of a lion grown monstrous and terrifying: it roars with a sound that shatters the world and sends the vision spinning away into darkness, turning now to a pair of travelers on the starlit road.

“There’s no need to worry,” one form assures the other amidst the moonlight, body weaving a fluid trail where hips merge into scales and sinew. “A few more days on these gods forsaken country roads and we’ll have what we came for.”

“Or maybe we’ll have more trouble than we bargained for,” corrects her smaller counterpart, red eyes seeming to shine even in the dark.

“True,” amidst the larger woman. “Ever the stubborn girl, if I’m remembering her correctly. But that’s why we have the mirror, isn’t it?”

“Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that, for everyone’s sake…”

The way she says that final line, sanguine eyes meeting with something that isn’t there: Cici shivers in her sleep as she realizes a looking glass works both ways, Vivi’s unconscious wings holding her more closely until visions pass once more into pleasant, aimless dreams.

--

The rest of the night is peaceful from there on out, whatever fear from the visions may have come forgotten in the morning light. Perhaps the rest went with it as well as Cici, Vivi, and Iris all awake with a yawn, not a start, lazily squirming from beneath the same blanket as they rub sleep from tired eyes.

“Good morning, voices,” Cici greets, for the first time in what seems like ages.

For everyone:
Apologies that it's been a while, but I've had a lot of stuff to deal with. Moving out roommates, finals, getting sick, and I haven't been able to work up the time to really sit down and write. In any case, hope I didn't lose too many folks and let's make the best of things.

For any new players:

Welcome to Gorgon Child Quest! Where-in you take up the role of a magical talking artifact being wielded by a young gorgon girl named Cici. Living out of the remains of a once great dungeon, the game will focus on exploration, character interaction, and learning as the voices of the players within the amulet help guide her along.

I still can't get over how fucking cool this hammer is? I know I just met the girl but I think I can pretty confidently count Seigheild among my friends, I mean I already did since the poor thing really needed one or two, but godamn she does amazing work! I thought forging stuff like this took weeks?! And cost thousands of bucks, but she gave me this thing for free and it is fucking awesome! I grin widely, staring at my own reflection in the hammer as I hold it up to the sun in one hand by its root like haft; Which is strangely warm in comforting, like I'm holding Yvette's hand right now. And that stray thought makes me smile as the strangely black tinted metal glimmers like an oil spill, reflecting my face as I give it a swing and giggle like the school girl I am, its so easy to swing around! This is so amazing, oh I'm glad I walked out into the woods were no one could see me freaking out about this! I know Yvette would've loved to see me like this, but I know Rowen wouldn't be far away if I stayed in our room. And if she knew I had this then....well someone might try to steal it!

I stop holding the hammer out as I frown, my tail drooping as I slump forward, Wait why did I just think about that? if anyone tried to take anything from me I'd just beat the hell out of them, sure I'm trying to be nice but that has its limits even if they're pretty sturdier.

Eh, well no reason to worry about it anyways. I mean I'm a dragon and that means I need a hoard, guess this counts. I bite my lip, remembering why I had this thing made anyways. Those shitty gods....I totally forgot I need to return the shit I stole from the dead when me and Yvvy accidentally ended up in fucking Asgard, or what was left of it.

Magni and Mooi, I mean they're kind of bastards. But so was I back when they knew the old me. Hmm, do I want to be a hypocrite? I mean, the question really is...do I want to deal with those two today?

I sit down in the empty clearing, wrapping my tail around my legs.

What do I do?
[] Head to the fallen realm of the gods with Yvvy
[] Just swing my hammer around a bit 1d20+might
[] Give this big lug of metal a name
[] head back to my room
[] wander around the forest thinking, and pretending to be a fantasy warrior
[] Show the hammer off to one of my friends *who*
[] Teach Seigheild how to be a girl?
[] write in

Just woke up!

Welcome of the lands of Terrivan. A land separated into eight ruling powers. The magical Ashburgeon Arcane Academy, the imperial Bakar-Dul, the O'Sarin Kingdom, the enterprising Gnomish Trading Confederacy, the savage Korbush Territory, the bitter Ulharan Desert, the ambivalent Dragon Island, and the mysterious Kingdom of Iron Dragons.

You are the Courier, and in your plan to establish a new American nation, you encounter terrible fortune in the Mojave. A fatal mistake in the battle of Hoover Dam, having caught you off guard as you sought to control the Securitrons from Mr. House, has resulted in a number of robots and the NCR forces within the dam being drowned, leaving it a great stone bridge for the Legion mass to pour through, unopposed as your securitrons must focus on the planned evacuation of your settlement in Cottonwood Cove. Added to this, your other plans to set chaos and disaster loose upon the NCR, originally to weaken both sides of the battle to allow you to sweep the Mojave, now leaves the NCR defeated and on the rout, attacked from all sides by artillery, raiders, criminals, and monsters you unleashed on the NCR positions. Without the NCR, or the availability of Securitrons, the Mojave is self destructing, leaving it a wounded and fragmented prey in the face of the Legion.

All is not lost. You had indeed planned to abandon the Mojave to one faction, albeit the NCR not the Legion, in the hopes that by going to BigMT and establishing it as your new Capital, you might then raise a technological army the likes of which the Wasteland has not yet seen, to force your new America with superior Old World science and engineering.

Such is it that you find yourself now atop an old world Railroad Boxcar, filled to the brim with frightened but greatful refugee's from Old World Fort. Against the advice of your disembodied Brain in BigMT, your heart or your empathy reached out to these and the followers, as your securitrons bring additional Box Cars to load them up. They are a mixed bunch, NCR citizens, freesiders, even wounded Kings and Troopers. Those who are weak or wounded are given priority inside the box cars, while those healthy and strong are asked to cling unto the ceiling and sides of the train, as a dozen Securitrons on either side lift up the boxcar and carry it to Cottonwood Cove where the main body of your settlement is. In addition to these many refugee's you also bring all the followers of the Apocalypse.

The smell of wounded and dying, of blood and gore, and the cries of anguish are heard all around. You wonder about your prospects of keeping them and your settlers alive, you had stockpiled food for the great Journey to BigMT but that was only with your settlers in mind, as now you bring twice that number with you towards the settlement alone.

Arriving at Cottonwood Cove you see your Securitrons had secured the area and fended off a legion attack there. The place is burning, and in flames, and you spot some casualties but otherwise your companions held the line enough for the Securitrons to win and ward off the Legion.

Dawn arrives, the shelling from Fort Nellis continues but no doubt the Legion march on New Vegas, unopposed and in force, as the city is left defenseless. Now is the time to take one last look at Cottonwood Cove and the Mojave, before you begin the great exodus to BigMT.
>>
All food that could be harvested from the farms has been done, all supplies and items of note within the buildings of Cottonwood Cove have been loaded up, its Chaos but its organized Chaos, and the Securitrons are ready to begin ferrying your people west to BigMT whenever you are ready. Just give the signal (vote). Unless you have any reason to stay.

You are Theo, a 21 year old kid from a pacific american coastal town, and for some reason despite the current year, you want to become a pirate.

Copypasting last actions and decisions:

You and your crew go to the docks to jack a boat. You fail to convince him he was on the wrong boat, and now are on the dock, facing the man's back while he asks your companions who you are.

>> Grab onto man from behind and call out to Jimmy to knock him out [Easy]

You decide its time for your crew to prove their worth. You jump on the fisherman while he faces away. He wears you like a backpack. Your weight forces his tall figure to hunch forward, so that his face is at level with Jimmy.
"Wh-what the fuck? Is this boy retarded or something? Feels like retard strength!"
You shout at Jimmy to take care of the man, and he understands at once what you mean. He takes a wide stance then drills a left hook into the man's right cheek. You topple down with the unconscious body.

"Juh-juh-jeeeeeesus kuh-rist! How did you do th-th-that?" Randy shuffles away a little further from Jimmy while still addressing him. Jimmy shrugs. "I was in a lot of fights with a lot meaner guys than this. I know how to put a man down." His tone was matter of fact, but you sense that Randy interpreted it in a completely different manner.

Shaun moves in to feel his pulse. He says something that you assume means he is still breathing. Its unclear how long he will be asleep, so you and a few other crewmember drag and dump him into another trawler, with nets as cover. Of course, you also ruffle through his pockets before you return to your newly confiscated ship

You dump out whatever old fish piles, clunky equipment, and extra nets there are over into the ocean. Randy manages to awkwardly fidget with the controls until he starts the boat and coasts it off shore. He reports the tank is completely full.

After a safe distance away and a beautiful view of the setting sun over water, you address your crew once more. You tell them of your passions in pirating, that you wish to emulate the cult of personality that had come to Sir Francis Drake, Captain Morgan, and Billy Kidd. Your crew seem riled with enthusiasm (even Shaun, who laughs end in hilarious sounding ‘r’s) and discuss their fantasies as well; Randy, who wants to circumnavigate the world, Jimmy, who wants to embark on a journey of self discovery, and Shaun, who as far as you can tell, wants to destroy large Japanese whaling ships.

The storage closet and bridge are both transformed into crew quarters. Nets from the deck are assembled to support you and your crew as makeshift hammocks, but when one breaks, Jimmy simply uses it as a cover. The cool sea breeze makes for a nice environment to sleep, so the crew doesn’t mind the inadequate cover.

You and Randy are left mulling over the map he has in his explorer’s book.
“Its good you chose this ship Theo, since we can approach other vessels we find and they’d think we were just another helpless trawler with low fuel, or a broken rudder. We could just meander up north or down south to one of the other profiles we noted on the forums. The guy up north is in Alaska, I think he said he’s a photographer or something? The other guy’s in Mexico, from what I read he said he’s a real good cook. Here, you can take a look at the profiles if you want.

Now I know it’ll be a long trek either way in this rusty tub, so I’d say we try looking when we’re better off supplies wise, or with a faster boat maybe. We can start by either raiding some shores, or boats. Boats would be active in the day, so we could wait it off it until morning and then make our luck out there. Its hard to be caught in the middle of the sea, so theres low risk, but then again theres no guarantee we’ll find a ship. If we look to raid a coast, we’d best go while its still dark. A bunch of the north towns ain’t got many eyes on them since no illegals come in that far up, but raiding north still carries a lot of risk. I know at least three ports most likely abandoned or completely empty if we go right now. We’ll be able to raid boats, cargo, hell even buildings are rotting in the rockier areas. So what do you wanna do boss?”

> Wait until morning and try to raid a ship [Estimated Time 14 hours]
> Go to one of the sitting docks right now [Estimated time 2 hours]
> Look into the Alaskan profile
> Look into the Mexican profile
> Set course (Alaska, Mexico)
You may choose multiple options. Time can be passed by talking to crewmembers to improve relations, or working on skills.

“Alright, so you’re okay with all of this?” you ask. You HAD kinda just dropped a major bombshell on her- you’d figured it be better to do it sooner than later.

“I’m certainly not OKAY with it,” Switchwick responds, looking at you askance. “But I understand the need for...secrecy and tact. I don’t like the idea that one of my own is potentially causing this- in fact I’m rather livid on the inside, at you for insinuating, and for myself at being forced to accept the possibility. But I’ll keep it to myself for now. Should you be proven wrong, however-” And her stare is an icy one. “I’ll be certain to give you QUITE the scathing review. I understand that for your sorts that’s a rather effective threat?”

It is. “It is. You have my word I do not make this statement lightly. However I DO feel it’s prudent to remind you that I make no specific claims at this time and this is merely a working theory. There are other possibilities at play.” You have to catch yourself speaking faster than normal a bit and force yourself to slow it down slightly. “I feel as though I’d be remiss in not mentioning the possibility so as to keep you cautious.”

She has the thinnest of expressions on her lips. “Hm. Very well. But-” Before you can say much else suddenly a purple blur blasts out of the treeline- instincts honed by years of combat already have you in front of Switchwick before your head processes that that’s Purps, and carrying an invalid. The kid.

I like the immediate feedback when I write something, instead of it sitting on my hard drive. It's also nice to add pictures and songs.

My question for QMs:

Have you ever had to change or modify your stat system mid-quest? How did that work out?

You have always dreamed of crushing all the swine of this world beneath your superior being and condemning their progeny to your service. You devoted your childhood to concocting a most ingenious plan to claim this world for your own, you invested your adolescence into training your body in order to coalesce it and are now ready to begin your Villainous Quest.

On your journey to power you joined a gang, The Spades. Along the way you gained conscripted an array of unknowing soldiers to for your fledgling empire. Currently none of them are with you.

Currently you find yourself in an almost depressingly precarious situation. A Rival gang, the Butchers, have trapped you in a dark room with a corpse and a butcher and given you an ultimatum, your arm or your life.
However with your glorious lexical abilities you have weaved a verbal trap to entangle the butcher-agent who finds your appendage to be his prerogative, so that you may escape without having lost anything beyond your entire inventory.

Welcome back to Dark Empire Quest, where you the players aid the reborn Emperor Palpatine and Imperial Commander Alana Tyrna and possibly others as they fight to rebuild the Galactic Empire after the crushing defeat at Endor and the subsequent collapse. We will guide their choices, deal with the consequences of their actions, and work to ensure the Empire rises once again.

I allow between ten and twenty minutes for voting depending on the importance of the issue and how divided the vote is. If the vote is tied up, I usually allow an extra five minutes for a tie breaker, and if no one votes, I roll for the tie breaker (The will of the dark side).

I always try to incorporate (and encourage) write ins if they don't violate the spirit of voted decisions, though I may edit or tweak them to fit better.

I also am always open for questions. I'll just ask that they stay relevant to current events in the quest, or at least the near future.

Grand Admiral Thrawn, ostensibly an independent warlord, made overtures that he may prefer to reconcile with the Emperor at some point. Grand Admiral Zahn is leading a council of Admirals to determine the course of the war for the Empire. This meeting is intended to handle the course of the war for the near future.

***

While the meeting continued, you briefly considered having the navy dole out a punishment to Chandrilla for being a traditional hotbed of dissent. Instead, rather than punish them, you opted to attempt to quash their beliefs using your propaganda machine. Only known rebels would be overtly targeted.

"Before we begin to discuss our future plans," Zahn says, "Are there any other matters of discussion?"

Where we attack or consolidate next is obviously important, but I would rather have that discussion take place without Thrawn present.

In the beginning, there was light...

And upon these light that God create the angels and thus the First Kingdom ,Heaven, was establish. The First Kingdom prosper under the guidance of God Himself and He was satisfied

But God had other plans and from earth and dust,He created Man in his own Image. The seed of curiosity was planted as Man was formed. Fragile and imperfect, some of the Angels questioned their existence and ask God for Purpose.

And so God gather the Sons of Light and ask them to bow to Man but some refuse. Those who bow loses their Free Will while those who refuse was cast down into another dimension of Dark and Fire, forever locked away from their birthplace. Thus the Second Kingdom,Hell, was Born.

Humans was allowed to stay in the First Kingdom until God noticed how they are easily influenced by the Fallen and so God encased them in flesh and blood then cast them down onto Earth, where they wandered until their flesh prison withered into dust and ashes. Thus the Third Kingdom was born

The three Kingdom grew but only the Third Kingdom was allowed to create life. Both Heaven and Hell noticed the importance of this source of manpower and so they began to directly spread their influence on earth, causing war an disasters. The power of Angel and Fallen was catastrophic that it almost raze all human life. This was known as the Great Flood.

With a heavy sigh,God finally interfered and the Truce of the Third kingdom was made with 7 seals formed. Encasing the Third Kingdom with Rules and Truth, they can never directly interfered with humans anymore. Even God Himself.

But Rules have loopholes and Truth is just another perspective as Angels and Fallen can forcefully enter the human reality. God,already weakened, interfered once more and brand 12 people with the Truce of the Third Kingdom. Those 12 disciples have the power to expel those who disturbed the fragile peace.

The peacekeepers are known as the Balancer and you are not one of them. Not yet.

You are Arien Fisher, adopted son of Father John Fisher and shared a soul with Zachariel The Archangel of mercy.

After You and your friend accidentally enter the space pocket of rogue angel and defeat them, Father Fischer finally shared the truth of reality.

"So you are saying that Angels and Demons are secretly fighting in this world?", You scratch your head. This is a bit too much for your young mind to comprehend."It's like the stories from the bible..."

"Yes. The bible merely guide us and tell us about the past...like stories from mouth to mouth, the truth are hidden upon deviated stories. The First and Second kingdom can only influence us and never directly interact with us. To disobey this is to break the Truce of the Third Kingdom.", Your father stroke his graying hair."The Balancer is more of a police task to root out those who break the truce."

You nod. Still, it cant be help that your father was one of these so-called Balancer.

Your new feathered “friend” has brought word of a great prophecy. A group of second-rate daemons will band together and become a mighty force for Chaos. Their leader? Perhaps one of the most second-rate Khornates there is: You. Or, rather, was. You like to think your rebirth has changed you for the better. Though until you face Her, you won’t be sure exactly how far you’ve come. It’s something that often consumes your thoughts.

In any event, things on the Soul Inferno are progressing slowly. Feva is hard at work training her new arm and with her new weapon. Usha’s instructing her between exercises to better control the transformation of her daemon arm. As for Niazach, she and several of Rikiar’s scouts have travelled into the corridors of the Firestorm-class frigate to get a lay of the land, so to speak. What they find is eerily similar to a ship you once helped capture in the past.

The Inferno carries about five thousand well-trained voidsmen. Aside from that, there’s not much in the way of resistance. Even then, said voidsmen tend to only have las weaponry. You suppose that’s probably due to the fact that their superiors don’t want misfires and missed shots punching holes in the bulkheads. The remaining 20,000 crew (or thereabouts) are split pretty evenly between support, domestic, and peacekeeping roles.

Taking the Inferno would be relatively easy, or so you think. But do you really want to give Usha’s precious prophecy even more ammo?

If you’re a die-hard lover of canon, I suggest you turn away now. Like all things 40k, the gauntlet runs from “worshiping the printed, grimdark word” to “over the top silliness.” Most of the time it’s somewhere in between. Others it swerves hard to one side and/or breaks this model entirely. You’ve been warned in advance. I do try to keep things fairly reasonable though.

Alternatively, if you’re not at all familiar with canon or want more details on something, just ask! You don’t need to have played the original Khornette Quest to play and enjoy this one. I’m sure someone (or I) will explain any cameos that come up if you’re lost.

All rolls go against a specified characteristic in the style of Black Crusade. You’ll want to roll under the characteristic value in order to pass the check. The more degrees of success (every multiple of 10 counts as 1), the more awesome of a result. A 1 or an 8 is a guaranteed success, and a 100 is a guaranteed failure. NPCs I roll for only crit succeed/fail on a 1 or a 100.

Best of three rolls when it’s called for, with a 1, 8, or a 100 instantly taking precedence. If multiple characteristics are being rolled for each 1d100 counts for its respective test. Any rolls prior to the call for one and those not linking said post will be ignored.

I realize that /qst/ is much slower than /tg/ ever was, but I’d like to keep things moving. Voting windows will be a maximum of twenty to thirty minutes after the first vote. Same goes for dice rolling. This week we’re going to be running Wednesday (tonight), late Thursday night, and Saturday.

That’s it housekeeping-wise for now. Onto the quest!
>>
“...and the Bridge can be blocked off by bulkheads here, here, and here.” Niazach points out several places on a holo-map of the Inferno as you, Rikiar, Eraric, and Crocus crowd around a table. “There’s a dedicated lift that runs from the Bridge to Deck 6 where the voidsmen are quartered. It’s large and fast enough to deliver a full platoon in under five minutes. There’s always a battalion of about 800 voidsmen on duty at any given time. Like with the bridge, Deck 6 has special lifts that can get them anywhere in the ship in a hurry.”

You cross your arms and think. For a ship of the Imperium, they seem to actually have their shit together. Well, about as much as humans can anyways. There’s still exploitable holes in their security which should make crippling or taking the Inferno over fairly simple for you. Before you can voice this, though, Rikiar speaks.

“I’m not so sure I want to risk giving ourselves away,” he says to the group at large. “I mean granted, we were able to take Desoleum down pretty easily. But this is different. We don’t know the place well enough to be able to escape if something goes wrong, and once we go loud there will be no turning back.”

“Weren’t you just saying that the men were bored?” you point out. “And besides, you should know by now that loud is my style.”

He scratches the back of his head as everyone present looks at him. “I just wanted to voice that concern, that’s all. I think the best course of action would be to infiltrate Deck 6 to try and take over the lift network. If we can fool some voidsmen over to our side in the process, so be it.”

You motion at the holo-map. “There’s also the main Gellar Field generator, the Engine Room, and the Bridge itself. All are crucial areas that can be used to affect the ship at large.”

Niazach brightens up at the mention of the Gellar Field generator. “Oooo, I like the way you think, Mistress. We could disable the generator and plunge this vessel into Chaos. Even a brief exposure to the Warp unshielded will greatly dwindle the amount of resistance we would face.”

“You mean human resistance,” Eraric points out dryly. “If we do that we’d have to stay here and make sure the random forces of Chaos didn’t overrun our position. Though granted, the bridge’s separate Gellar Field stretches down to Deck 4. We’d probably be fine. Mostly.”

“I’m not sold on the Engine Room either,” voices Crocus. “Based on these maps, it’d be far too easy to get lost in the twisting corridors both to and from the main Engine Room. And that’s not even addressing the hellish conditions that Niazach’s told us about.”

You rub your chin in thought. What area of the ship should you focus on?
