Your mission is to capture the Reislaufer Guard commander. She will be wearing the color Purple.

Pose as enemy soldiers or vagrants along this mountain station and catch her by suprise when she crosses your path.
She will have her elite cavalry with her, a total of 9 guards. All ride horses and gryphs, equipped with heavy weapons.

The commander will arrive here on turn 3 at the bottom of the uphill path, tile G6. Prevent her from exiting the area at tile D2.


Deploy anywhere between Rows A~D and setup for an ambush. If using Mask, you will be displayed in enemy colors of blue and cyan, but have a minor detail in green or red to distinguish yourself while in disguise.

Okay, the deed is simple enough. There’s this supply camp inside a small forest next to the castle. I need them off my back when we’ll attack the whoresons sieging the castle and that’s where you come in.

You go in, murder every last sod there and loot the place. Keep everything, burn it all, I don’t care. Remember though, Léonard the Badger is in charge over there. He owns a frightening mace and I want it. I’ll pay good silver! Aha!

After you’re done you can join the battle too. Head for the south wall, I’ll have a bunch of guys there. I can’t give you silver for this, but there’ll be so much to loot it’ll be worth your while believe me.

In this quest, Demons walk the earth and ravage the land as they see fit. Well, not really since many of the races banded together to seal them away into the abbyss. That being said, many cults and evil doers still roam the land in want of returning their dark masters to the material plane. The players assume the role of a adventurer in these dark times. Seeking fame and fortune. Or just the next job for lunch money.

Your name is Deltorian Tessan. When you were told that you had work to do in Berlin, you were hoping to find a nice place to get a beer and waste your time doing absolutely nothing. Sadly, you were forced into taking a mag-rail, one of the worst forms of public transport. When you arrived in Berlin, the people you were supposed to meet were nowhere to be found. Brilliant, right? Well, seeing as you were in Germany, having a large cold one, just before you were inevitably dragged into some kind of horrible press event, seemed perfect. Of course, things didn't turn out properly. I mean, ending up in some back alley street surrounded by five people, all of which had that shit eating grin.

The soft click of a gun slide. The eager hiss of a steel blade on leather. Knuckles cracking and the racking of a baton. This was going to be fun.

By instinct, your hand reaches down towards the right side of you hip, fingers, passing over the pistol holster that sat just behind your coat. You know it was empty, but just a force of habit. As you see the first of the men begin charging towards you, you feel that sensation of the adrenal pump emptying itself into your bloodstream. With practice, you eyes flicker, spotting two charging towards you, with a knife and the other with a baton, one raising a pistol to aim, and the last two holding back.

(A) Guns are dangerous, he goes first.
(B) Deal with the guys heading towards you.
(C) Take out the ones holding back, they might have something worse.

So, I follow Raven's Overwatch Quest. With all the salt surrounding a situation where the players' poor decisions led to a situation going south for the protagonist, and a general lack of communication on both sides resulting in a lot of salt, I was heavily reminded of Cosgrove's Parker Quest, where a similar situation arose after there'd been some miscommunication regarding a situation where the players made a choice, and things hadn't turned out the way they were expecting. Long of all stories short, Parker Quest basically died until it didn't, but I don't know if Overwatch Quest will meet the same fate... or end up just dying, or what.

I'm kinda scared, to be honest.

You are Captain Rossweisse Bell, commander of the CTF rapid response cutter Sericea. Your current assignment has dragged you all over the Sol system, from Mars to Luna, to the pirate-held asteroid base on Cuithe, and the backwater colony of Sweetwater. Now you've returned to the Lunar city of Von Braun to revisit an issue from your last visit here and possibly pick up some technical assistance from Anaheim Electronics for the next stage of your investigation.

“Sericea was designed loosely around Nagato's propulsion schemes,” Saran explains thoughtfully, referring to your own ship's maneuverability and thrust-vectoring capabilities vis-à-vis their basis in those of a Jovian-designed Helium carrier. “So no difficulties there. However mobile suit operations will be substantially hindered if you are operating near Jupiter's gravity well.”

“I assume you have a solution?” you ask, suspecting that the answer will be some modular package designed in-house for the testbed machine Anaheim put in Carya and Catrina's hands. Less of an act of benevolence of course, or even a sense of civic duty, and more because they wanted data on its performance in the hands of a capable Newtype.

“It's almost fully developed,” Saran replies excitedly, confirming your suspicions. “Since the current Viola, I think you call it? Since it's entirely modular, it should be no trouble at all to refit.”

“What is involved?”

“Actually we based it on an early design of your unit's... four large thrusters on pylons, with an extra fuel load.”

“Like the old Slattern?”

“Yes!” he nods, handing you a copy of the schematics. “Exactly!”

This thing looks more something of a nightmare: an Active Mass Balancing Auto-Control or AMBAC system... with nine “limbs”. Four of these are the expected set, but the rest are comprised of a tail binder and four adjustable pylons mounted with powerful thrusters.

With the layout as-designed it would be possible to maneuver a mobile suit very quickly and very precisely around its own center of mass, meaning quick turning speeds in all directions, combining with the thrusters themselves allowing for sharp changes in velocity. But with so many maneuvering surfaces and individually-controlled thrusters to operate in concert the human brain would have trouble keeping the pace. No wonder then that Anaheim Electronics would be interested in Artificial Intelligence... a complex suite of mobility-enhancing technologies wouldn't be put to its best use merely by simplifying the control inputs.

No, any mobile suit mounted with this backpack system would either have to be fly-by-wire or fly-by-mind.

“How long?”

“About forty-eight hours to make all the fine adjustments,” he smiles. “With your permission of course.”

“What's up?” Carya replies with a slight groan of exertion, probably in the middle of stretching. “You making progress with Anaheim?”

“I'm meeting some executive in a bit. Saran brought me something interesting,” you explain quietly. “A backpack that should work well under Jovian gravity.”

“Good news,” your teammate replies. “Is it ready?”

“Yes. It's also complex, like 'Slattern' was,” you continue, trying not to give Saran any cause for concern. “To properly control it you either need direct input from a newtype with advanced spatial awareness and coordination or a particularly advanced automated control system.”

“Well then it should be no problem,” Carya replies calmly. “I trust your judgment.”

“Understood,” you reply.

Your hand reaches back for the earpiece, but after a moment you check the motion. Having remained aboard Sericea for most of your deployments you've never really understood why your partner insists on wearing her tactical gear around in normal company, but you suppose there are a number of situations where it might be useful. Many of those seem less and less improbable the closer you get to the source of all this trouble.

So in a moment's decision you elect to leave the communication device precisely where it is.

The gunfire in the distance has already stopped but the smell of ashes still fills your nostrils. You sit clutching your rifle, hidden in a dark alley between two ruinous brick buildings, stained by years of coal production.

You are the TEMPLAR, a holy knight sent to clear the frontier of monsters and heresy!

The light and crackle of the campfire was a welcome sight in the dark night. Hung over the fire was a rack of some of the meat your party had managed to scavenge off of the wild boars you had slain. Better to live off the land than dig into your own supplies when possible.

Meanwhile, Nino was fast asleep, with Romulus clutched in her arms and her head resting on the lap of a very annoyed looking Naru, since she couldn't freely get up and move about without waking the little mage. Morgan was out patrolling the perimeter, keeping an eye out for not only Solaire, but any possible wildlife or bandits that would be attracted by the fire.

And finally, your temporary companion, the Paladin Valentia, was merely sitting there, staring at the fire. A somewhat troubled look on her face. It seemed to be stemming from worry? You weren't too sure.

A automated truck crashed over the weekend – you might have been involved in that – while a particularly vile storm is set to hit Ark City at the end of the week. You definitely have nothing to do with that last part. At least... you don't think you do.

Recent events have seriously harmed your ability to be certain about most things. Still, there are some things that you can always count on. School, for one thing. Bright and early, just like always, you dragged yourself along the usual route – detour included – and arrived at the Ark Institute. In your classroom, passing those few sad and empty desks, you found an envelope waiting for you.

A love letter would certainly be interesting, but this is nothing of the sort. Not unless official looking print and formal lettering is considered romantic these days.

“Alright class, you've all got your information packs, right?” Professor Carrington asks, trying to appear as if she was prepared for this, “I know this is all sudden, having your class trip brought ahead to... to this week, but we've all got to make the best of it. Remember, life won't always go as smoothly as you might like!” Having convinced herself of this, the teacher reaches into the pocket of her inexplicable lab coat and takes out a planner. “Oh yes,” she adds, “And don't think that means your homework is cancelled – I'll still be expecting that poem from all of you.”

Your groan is just one of many that rise up to stir the morning air.

“Man, can you believe this?” Ayane groans, waving her information pack like a flag, “According to this, we're going to be away two days. Two days! Where are we even supposed to be sleeping, some local hotel or what? Does this Mizuhashi Reserve place even have a hotel?”

“It has a small community, built around the needs of the local scientists,” Maika sighs, without looking up from her phone, “And yes, a hotel is included, for visiting family members or foreign scientists. Did you actually read the information they provided for us?” Flicking her finger across the surface of her phone, Maika causes the little drone above your head to swoop down in a steep dive, pulling up and away just before it brushes Ayane's head.

“Gah!” wailing, swiping at the retreating drone with her information pack, Ayane shoots the heiress a dark look, “So maybe I only skimmed it. So what?”

“Some Seeker of Truth you are,” Maika sneers.

“This is fun,” you think aloud, “Having a nice relaxing lunch, up on the school roof.”

“There are three lies in that sentence,” Ayane corrects you sternly, “This isn't fun, we're not relaxing, and this isn't even a roof. Why did they even call it a roof? It's more like a glorified balcony!” Sighing dramatically, she sits down on one of the concrete benches and fans herself with the information pack. “And it's getting hot,” she complains, “What is this, some kind of heatwave? I bet those bloody swamps are going to be lovely in this sort of weather...”

“Hardship is good for the soul,” you proclaim gravely, trying not to giggle a little at how pompous it sounds.

“Bullshit. Massages and relaxation are good for the soul,” she counters, “Swamps aren't good for anything!”

“They have thriving ecosystems,” Maika corrects her “Why else would Renko Biotech sink so much resources into exploring the site? Even today, after studying the area for years, they're still finding new variations on the local wildlife. It's a veritable treasure trove for anyone seeking new discoveries.”

“How...” Ayane manages after a pause, “Do you know all this?”

“Simple,” the heiress replies, “I read the information pack, cover to cover.”

When the school day ends, you decide to meet up with Emi again and finish your discussions from yesterday. After Ayane and Maika left Emi's apartment, it didn't take long for the conversation to dry up and you made your exit soon after. Before leaving, you exchanged numbers with the young girl and promised to keep in touch. It takes a bit of arranging – and the promise that Maika will pay the bill – but you eventually agree to meet up at Paris.

Well, there's no reason that you can't talk over cake, after all.

“Shit man, I feel like I'm the odd one out here,” Emi laughs, glancing between the members of your group. She has a point – Ayane, Maika and you are all still in your prim Ark Institute blazers, while Emi still wears that scuffed leather jacket of hers.

“It can't be helped,” Maika replies with a shrug, taking a small sip of tea, “Oh yes, Ayane. You left so suddenly yesterday. I hope it wasn't a family emergency.”

“It's always an emergency when my mom is involved,” Ayane groans, “But nah, it wasn't anything serious. She just had a bunch of stuff to give me – notes about Hieroglyph Marketing and their AI crap. She, uh, thinks it's for a school project. I feel kinda guilty, she's done all my research for me...”

“I'd like to read those notes later,” Maika murmurs, leaning a little closer, “If I might trouble you for them.”

“Help yourself,” shrugging, Ayane finishes off her coffee, “They're boring as hell, though. Totally dry and-”

“Wow, what is this, a study session?” Emi interrupts, “Hey, I thought we were supposed to be out punching bad guys and stuff!” Crushing her soda can in one hand, she points a finger at you. “C'mon boss,” she urges you, “Let's go and pick a fight!”

“We can't just go out and start busting heads,” Ayane sighs, “We've got to wait until an Intruder shows up first. Until then, we're off-duty.”

“Man...” Emi groans, pouting in disappointment, “Ugh, whatever. So what do you usually do when you're off-duty?”

Quick info on how everything works:
In this quest we are telling the the story of Anya, the slime girl who is trying to escape a lab she was created in. There is a main player, who has been choosen in the last thread - he has the choice of where the story goes, the rest can add details to his post.
You wait for them to carry you outside and bodyhop to the guard, succesfully taking control over him.
You are ready to fire as you see 3 guns pointed at your head, but stop because the guard you have took control of is... still alive!
You have no clue whether it was pure luck or fates doing, but you gained a hostage and a well armed body.
- Yours friend is still alive, drop your guns if you want it to stay that way - you said but didn't get any response
-I will count to five, if I don't see your guns laying on the ground by then next time you see this guy will be on his own funeral!
- One!
- Two! - "Why won't they stop, does his life have no value to them?"
- Three! - "So they are really planning to let me kill him?"
- 4 - "Those bastards, they are next in the line to get themself kille..."
-You are outnumbered, leave the hostage alone or you will be eliminated, and we aren't gonna count to five! - A voice snapped you out of your thoughts, making you realise that atleast 10 other guards are running there.
You panick, there is no way you will allow them to capture you again - it's now or never!
You raise your gun and shoot at the guards, leaving them no choice, but to backfire at you.
The previous experience with their bullets has taught you not to get him by them, so you condensate yourself around the guards arms, letting you fire at them while they kill their friend.
Just after few seconds everything that remains from the 4 guards is an one big bloody mess, so you slip out of the body and look back at the nearing group of guards, unsure what to do.

Note: From now on we will roll d20 during fighting seeing so there won't be the "I punch him, he dies" type of fights
