You are Captain Rossweisse Bell, a newtype operative of the Colony Transit Fleet currently in charge of investigating what's turned out to either be an extraordinary series of coincidences or a widespread and coordinated plot to undermine the political stability and security of human-settled space. While the evidence so far is largely circumstantial it certainly seems to be pointing to the latter possibility: everywhere you've been in the last few weeks, from Mars to the asteroid belt to Earth's moon and her colonies, there's been some sort of plot at work. And more distressingly they all seem to share tangential connections, suggesting some degree of communication if not with each other then all with the same outside power.

You take your leave of Anaheim Electronics' design chief Saran and his technicians, getting out of the building and seeking the open public space of the nearest rail line terminal: the main line between the center of Von Braun and its bustling civilian spaceport. There are enough people waiting out on the platform that you feel comfortable reporting in to Artesia.

“What is it?” she asks when you place your call through your comm device. “You learned something, didn't you?”

“Are you familiar with an organization called the Strategic Naval Research Institute?” you ask.

“Yeah, it was like a government-subsidized competitor to Anaheim, took contracts for more mundane weapons systems at a lower price point,” she explains carefully, largely reiterating what you already know or at least suspected. “Or at least that's what they were supposed to do. Lost their funding last year I think, very hush-hush.”

“Why?” she asks, tone suggesting that she realizes where this conversation is going.

“Well, Anaheim's executive for Internal Affairs seems to think they were the ones who intercepted Carrina,” you recount, your own doubts coming across clearly in your tone. “Is that possible?”

There's a brief pause as Artesia considers the answer.

“They would need an outside funding source to pull off that kind of operation,” Artesia tells you, slowly coming to her own conclusion. “I'll meet you at the ship. There's something else going on here.”

“Alright,” you nod to yourself, agreeing that a face to face meeting would be the best way to handle the situation. “Artesia?”

“Yes, Rossweisse?”

“... watch your back.”

Your own return to Sericea is uneasy, the same crowds of commuters whose voices made it that much harder for a potential eavesdropper becoming a looming threat. These people... you know nothing about any of them. Any one of them could be on the payroll of an organization that wants you dead and you would have no way of knowing until you were already under attack. When you step off the train you find yourself quickly checking for anything that strikes you as a possible threat, and you check around to see if there are any emergency exits or access passages that might come in handy if a firefight were to break out.

Thankfully you make it through the ticket machine without trouble and emerge in the spaceport's main hall. Sericea's berth is only a few gates down the hall to your left, and you greet the armed Marines guarding the docking ramp with a salute.

“Good to have you back, ma'am,” one of them tells you.

I know 'marines' and 'discreet' is an oxymoron, but still, one can hope.

You are the Courier, continuing your plans to create a newly United States, born out of the Wasteland, an Empire under your own rule. Recovering from previous fights and gathering the strength of your forces, you make efforts to pick allies, gather companions, and amass resources and strength for a new plan you have devised.

Rather than make your base of operations within the Mojave and focusing on recruitment of wastelanders, you decide to work with your disembodied brain to shift your efforts to the fabled BigMT, where with the use of advanced old world technology, and even a crashed Alien mothership, you intend to create a vast robotic and mechanical force to fulfill your goal, to rebuild a nation, protect its people, and spread the vision of your new America throughout the wasteland. To such an end, you are preparing your Mojave settlement, Cottonwood cove, for a great exodus to BigMT, as well as a secondary plan to activate House's securitrons under your command, hopefully to influence the soon to be battle of Hoover Dam to your liking and keep the Mojave in some semblance of order while you prepare your new machine and man army.

You wonder if you will be able to get everything set up in time.

Time to round up more of your old gang.

First place you head is for Novac again, going to a tiny (literally) little home just outside the gate. Nothing more than a side tipped metal box with a leather tarp draped over it. Inside you hear the sound of cotton shuffling against cotton in a steady beat, coupled with and tiny bear noises. You tap the box for a bit, a voice hurriedly replies “oh shit, uh. . . just a minute Sir!” The sounds within the box pick up sharply before stopping abruptly. The tarp curtain pulls away, Rusty steps out to give you a salute. He is a small teddy animatronic teddy bear, reprogrammed by someone long ago into a loyal soldier with fighting skills. Behind him a normal teddy bear lying on his pillow mattress.

>Rusty
“Private Rusty reporting for duty, Sir!”

>You
[I’m leaving the Mojave. I think you should travel with me.]

>Rusty
“Yay! I'm ready for another tour of duty Sir”

Next on your destination is Boulder City, climbing the ladder up and abandoned railway work barracks that makes Wendy Gilbert’s home. The former NCR soldier dishonorably discharged after you rescued her unit from the Great Khans.

>Wendy Gilbert
“Hey, if it means I don’t have to keep living off radroach meat and get a chance to sleep in a real bed, I’m down.”

Then it’s a walk to Vegas. Most of your professional mercenary friends are probably at the Atomic Wrangler right now. Passing by freeside you consider bringing Joeclyn and your Freeside Rats, but decide against it, deciding to at least check up on them.

You walk past walls covered in crude chalk drawings warning people to stay away, light stepping over landmines (fakes mixed in with real ones). Once you pass the traps and you enter the courtyard of the “the Fort”, a ruined tower bolstered with gun ports, sandbags, and other defenses.

The Rats were a most useful tool to have in Freeside, like little spies, sneaking around finding information, stealing items, and tracking individuals, organized by none other than yourself and rusty. A whole gang of armed, dirty children swarm and hug you and Rusty. Most of the familiar faces you are expecting are there, Meyla the raider child, B.A.L.L.A.R.M.-08 the android, “lil’ brother” Jake, Tommy with his hunting rifle.
Joecyln, their leader, and asks why you are here.

>Joeclyn
“Oh! Are you finally taking us to the Circus in Flagstaff?”

>You
[No, I have some news. I’m leaving the Mojave]
A single chorus of “Awwww” comes from them all.

>You
[I won’t be gone forever, but I need you all to stay here. Do you remember what I said about House’s securitrons?]

>Joeclyn
“Yes, you told us to stay away from them.”

>You
[Sometime soon I will take them over. One of them will come up to you and say the secret code.]

>Joeclyn
“Will you ever be coming back?”

>You
[Of course, I promise. Just keep manning the fort]

>Rusty
“Freeside Rats, Salute!”

The children stand at attention and give you a salute, before you leave for the Atomic Wrangler.

At the Atomic Wrangler, you find your mercenary band around, playing a game of poker, rather than Caravan. Most of them thought Caravan was a shit game anyway. Russel, Hazel, Desmond, Joana, and Vanessa are all playing. Lucky for them, Russel is winning.

They’ve all got plenty of caps to throw around with, having looted and been paid through quests at your side, and this is evidenced by a collection of empty booze bottles.

You tell them you’ve got another big gig, this one’s not going to be in the Mojave though, and explain to each of them your plan.

Hazel, ever a mercenary, just asks if she’ll be paid and there’ll be things to shoot, and signs on when you tell her you will and there will be. Desmond and Vanessa decide to join with you out of the idea of exploring ancient old world ruins. Joana doesn’t have very good prospects here in Vegas and joins you as well.

The only one who doesn’t join is Russel, especially after you tell him you plan to return to the Mojave to bring peace with it through a Robot army.

He spits at the idea.

“So what, you intend to take Vegas with Houses’s machines and whatever gadgets you bring out of that cursed place? Have Vegas be ruled by you with complete fucking power?

I joined up with you because you said you had a plan to kick out the Legion. I had hoped you wouldn’t become an NCR lackey or House’s pet, I thought you might actually be the “Wild Card” the Mojave need to be strong again.

But now I can tell you’re just another Mr. House.”

ALERT:
Russel is not convinced to join your cause.

The year is 2101, the earth is fucked to put it simply. Fossil fuels are near depleted and our oceans are cess pools of filth and garbage. The depleting fuel and increasing numbers of riots and resistance cells led to the Ascended Society Project. A space program funded by the Wardens and Politicians to escape this planet to E-02. Private Prisons profited off criminals from the increasingly strict rules under the OWG: One World Government.

You were one of these prisoners exploited for a quick buck, it's been a year since the shuttles departed. The poor and the rebelling left to wallow in this hell, and for a final laugh the Wardens coordinated a mass release of every prisoner in their long dried cash cow.
You remember Warden Hasinger's last words to you over P.A.
"The world has been left to you. Laws are no more. Prisons are no more. The only ones who remain are the weak, the envious, and yourselves. The animals. Enjoy your dying home while you can."
=========================

You've survived the past year off canned food and the occasional stolen meal from anyone camping nearby, you've holed yourself up in the large drainage pipes beneath the prison. It isn't glamourous but you're hidden and safe. The past few days you've been slowly starving and you cant take it anymore, you're going to have to go out and steal or find something to eat.

>Steal from the group near the beach to the south
>Search the Prison again
>Make your way to the eastern beach and hunt
>Double check your food stores
>Steal from the group to the west at the old subway station

Previously... Miho Tsukada, the Heavenly Child, was able to snatch a rare moment of peace between struggles. Spending the time with getting to know the Executioner, her newest companion, it wasn't long before the Heavenly Child was met with fresh troubles. As the Executioner revealed her true nature – as a killer of magical girls – and the AI known as EVE revealed itself, the situation once again slid towards disaster. With the appearance of a rare and deadly Tyrant class Intruder, can the Heavenly Child unite her companions and destroy this inhuman evil?

Rain taps insistently against the hood of your disposable plastic parka, the cheap vending machine garment already starting to split and come apart at the seams. Ayane wears a similar coat, although thicker and lurid with a number of fluorescent pink stripes. A precaution, something to make sure the wearer is visible at night.

They certainly work – Ayane is probably visible from space.

Maika, of course, would never stoop to the indignity of wearing something like your plastic coat. Instead, she takes shelter under a wide umbrella, looking every inch the noble princess that you often – and often mockingly – compare her to. Considering that soon you'll be marching into a dank swamp, there's something amusing about the way she steps primly around each puddle you pass.

It's just a shame that you don't feel much like laughing at the moment.

“Hey, you guys,” Ayane speaks up, turning and holding up a hand to stop you and Maika, “Look over there – that's our destination, isn't it?” Having got your attention, she points at a spot on the distant horizon, her finger wiggling nervously up and down. Even following her finger, and with the girl feeding instructions into your ear, it takes you a moment to find what caught Ayane's attention. In the end it's only when the clouds part for a moment, allowing a brief spell of moonlight to wash down across the landscape, that you see it.

In the distance, spreading across the dense tree line that marks out the true Mizuhashi Reserve, you see a thick mist. Not a fog, as you first thought, but something altogether less natural. In the moonlight, you can see that it has a rotten green colour to it, the sort of green that always makes you think of stagnation and decay. A very fitting colour for a swamp, true, but even a glance is enough to tell you that it's nothing natural. It's the way that it coils and clings to the trees, perhaps, something like that.

“It must be strong,” you mutter, “Strong enough for it to be influencing the outside world.”

“I wonder what it's like in there,” Maika adds, thinking aloud, “I suppose I shouldn't be too curious – we'll be finding out soon enough, after all.”

“Now let's get to the station and wait for Emi there,” Ayane complains, “I'm pretty sure my hood is leaking...”

-

“Oh,” Maika murmurs, just as you're entering the station, “How curious...”

“Huh?” you ask, glancing around from the doorway to the station, “What's up?”

“Well, perhaps it was nothing, but I was just shaking out my umbrella when something caught my eye. A car. I didn't see it for very long, mind you, and I didn't have a clear view either, but... I think was the one the Sentinels use,” pursing her lips as she thinks, Maika takes another futile glance into the night, “The registration plate – what little of it I saw, at least – was the same. It was heading towards the Renko Biotech laboratory.”

“That IS odd,” you agree with a slow nod. Why would the Sentinels be here, and now? It seems like too much of a coincidence for your tastes...

“If only I had one of my drones with me...” Maika sighs wistfully, “It would have been fairly easy to follow the car, and we might have been able to learn a little more about them.” Frowning hard, she glances past your shoulder and up at the clock. Then, nodding decisively, she turns back to the door. “There's still time,” the heiress decides, “I'm going to take a look.”

Pausing only to open up her umbrella, she starts off into the night.

You had been exiled. Not for a wrongdoing, but simply as a rite of passage. As a young adult, you must prove your worth to the clan by surviving out in the desert ruins... Luckily for you:

>You've heard tales from your elders about how there are many oasis out there (know the lay of the land and guarantee you'll often rest in one)

"Reckon we bring it over? It ain't being harmful."

"It's also the only other thing besides them little blue fellers that can speak. We could show it to Pa he would know what to do with it!"

You hiss happily and begin bobbing up and down. The two take notice and the three of you begin making your way to the what they call "the farm."
You begin to space off during the walk.

Little blue fellers. (What is blue?) More meat. More speaking meat. Equated with me? Inferior / superior? (Inferior at speaking, superior at killing.) Navigation is good here. Nest is in a tree? (Should search for tree meat.) (What is a tree, truly?)

T̸̕͡R̶̷̡̀Ę̀͢͠Ę̨͢ ́͜͝͠͞Ḿ̶͟͜Ę̶̵́À̵T you grumble before snapping back into reality.

The "farm house" looks more or less the same last time you saw it. Some yellow plant fields are missing however.

"Stay here...ugh you." Ben says.

He then stomps into the house shouting "Pa!". A few minutes later an older biped with hair on its chin walks out.

"Well here it is, Pa."

Will be putting a notice here that I will be busy with a six week assignment, meaning that I can't run the following [Skirmishes] this period in a rate that I will find acceptable.

-Floors [Descending Spiral - Or Restart?]
-SwordBorne
- Wonderful Days: PaperHeist
- Ironhearts [ Patching Required ]
- ZeroSpace [ Redevelopment Required ]
- Giant Mecha Idea
- Demonlord Idea

With the exception of one shot testing or variants every odd week or so, my activities will be taken up by a combination of personal responsibilities and a comic deadline involved in a high profile event where I have to fight 6 other artists on the internet 0 - 0!

seen here:
http://entervoid.com/index.php?action=comic;id=6011

As a QM for all those mentioned above there have been ideas floating around on what to do next once I am freed from my comic prison. Since it will be in the [summer season] approaching fall, the usual response is to try to pick up Floors or Wonderful Days again.

Or attempt other new/old ideas before the [FALL Season]

I'll open this thread up for any questions or general SKIRMISH DISCUSSION :v

It occurs to you why I have some Skirmishes listed here that have never been touched for well over a few years. And we can talk about them here.

Simply put Skirmishes are quite susceptible to [Bloat] and once the energy runs cold tends to be quite difficult to start up again. Most Skirmishes start simple, and gain momentum through people power. But it also grows to fit the needs of a game. When Bloat occurs, there is actually little remedy for it asides from an artificial reset in the form of a [Faction Change]
and while effective , only adds more unfinished knots in the metaplot or perhaps cultures it one could argue. Either way looking at these works for a time now, it's possible to perhaps renew interest in them but the angle of approach would require a risky amount of energy investment.

PS. The Statesmen plot gives me the shivers real talk.
PSS. The Silver Line plot is a DEEEEFINITE Faction Reset. And Perhaps even a gameplay re examination.
PSSS. The Descending Spiral is also quite spoopy but has the most potential to be resolved.

You're a Kobold, one of the most coolest races to have ever existed.
With no particular "epic destiny" you are able to explore the land according to your whim.

Deep in the forests, the Beastmen, the children of chaos prowl. Horrifying bestial creatures, they despoil and destroy everything to do with civilisation and order. You are one of these.

>What kind of Gor are you? (Capri, Bovi, True)
>What is your name?
>Which forest do you inhabit?
>Any other background.

>dark forest at Empires lands, near sylvania
>We are gave, Gaves are Beastmen born to normal human parents. We were abandoned near a forest and took in by beastmen

Options would be nice so people that don't know lore, don't have to research everything

You are a small group of refugees looking to Line on this island, This is you and your countrymen's story of conquest and expansion.

The red empire is looking to take over the island for themselves while the Green theocracy wishes to convert the island natives to their Green God.

The first step is for us to choose where we make landfall and our first settlements Choose 3 squares that are touching to start our path to glory!

No Capital yet we need to build one first!

Is pink the color you want for your new nation?

Also we need to pick our type of government!

>Kingdom
Actions take place faster, (if the king tells you to do it you do it!)

>Democracy
People are happier (population Counts for 5% more when accomplishing tasks)

>Theocracy
When attempting the 'Convert' action +10% (people like a man with a message!)

>Empire
When Choosing the 'Conquer' action +10% (Practice makes perfect)

After choosing the type of Government we need to Figure out how to use our population!

You have 900 People Spread out over 3 hexes

>Farmers
Make food for your kingdom

>Soldiers
Used for fighting

>Builders
Build things on owned hexes

>Missionaries
Convert people to your country's Religion

>Merchants
Used to generate income for the Country

One farmer makes enough food for 3 people in every season but winter, Soldiers are used to conquer new hexes and defend the ones you own allowing you to expand your influence and gain more people, Merchants generate income at the rate of 1 Coin per merchant a month, Coins can be used to bring in more people by hiring ships or increase your tech level, Builders are used to increase your Tech by building new and interesting things at the cost of coins. And Missionaries are used by the church to bring new hexes under your influence like soldiers as well as keep your peasants happy.

Stage 155: Sure it makes sense, just not to anyone that matters.

There are a great many mysteries in your life.

While with most people this would indicate a kind of life that invites strangeness and would be more of a spiritualist's existence than that of a extraordinarily talented assassin and bodyguard, in your case it means that you're not really paying attention to the things that would have helped you solve the mysteries in question. All too often the mysteries in your life are a result of other people deliberately keeping you in the dark.

Hisaka Subaru is one pf the mysteries that is actually mysterious.

Subaru-kumo-san is a rarity in your life, a mysterious person who is mysterious by her very nature and not because she deliberately tries to be obtuse, unpredictable, or is being a secretive threat. You know she lives in Ura-Harajuku and has for most of her life. You know that her last name really is Hisaka rather than what you would expect to be her first name. You know she's the daughter of a spider youkai or a relative of one, but not a jorugumo. You know she works and lives as a seamstress in Harajuku because there isn't really any life for her anywhere else.

And that's really all you do know.

You don't know how old she is, what she likes to eat, what sort of person she likes to cuddle with, how she ended up the way she did, who she has as friends, if she has any enemies, and really, you know not very much. This is taking into account all your skills as a researcher, investigator, sneaky sort of person, and friendly kind of girl. She's nearly – nearly – all business, all the time.

Oh, there is one other thing that you do know....she doesn't mind you visiting her shop. Which is apparently something of an accomplishment. So perhaps you do count as a friend. She's never said so, but that's as good a guess as you have.

That you are brining Er Yin-sensei and Kiku-saishi-chan to her place of business is not just because you are curious as to what they make of her, but to teach Kiku-chan a lesson about things that she tends to assume about your view of the world. You've already exposed her to one of the strange parts of your childhood, and this is another. This one, however, is a little different, and not just because it's part of your childhood. This one is different because Subaru-kumo-san is a peculiarity in a peculiar world.

[] Give them a gentle warning about the person they're about to meet.
[] Let them see for themselves from start to finish.
[] Ask how much either of them know about spider youkai of any sort.
[] Explain that this is someone's place of business and possibly a home as well.
[] Warn Kiku-chan that she will need to keep her temper in check here more than most places.
