I just bought a hybrid bike and I like it. I only had Walmart mountain bikes before.

A Specialized Sirrus that I got in college. I guess they call them "fitness bikes" now but at the time it was a hybrid.

Though it was pretty much a bargain bin bike for LBS standards evidently it was good enough that someone singled it out and cut through a U lock to steal it.

I replaced it with a RSMB (Bianchi Nyala) that I got on Craigslist for $60 and been riding it ever since.

I would add an aditional thing:
Ergonomics. I'm not meaning buy ergonomic expensive shit, but take of your position over the sadle, the right position of your feet on the pedal, the right seatpost height, the right position of your ass over the sadle, and other things like brake levers position.

In that way you will enjoy mtb even if you are a noob, without damage yourself at it, and without noticeable pain at all.

No fucking idea m8; but at least they've finally managed to unfuck it after decades of mishandling, even if it is now Triggers Broom.

It was the first "officially confirmed" locomotive to top 100 mph, whatever that means. Years prior, the City of Truro was claimed to have attained that mielstone and even before that, the New York Hudson #999 was claimed to have reached that point.
