hi /n/ i want to start bike racing but i am wondering what are the fastest colors? i think red+white+black is the fastest but i am wondering what are your suggestions? i want to make sure i have the fastest colors so i can win. thanks.
>>1067300
Yellow is the color of bed-wetters, that's for sure.
Red for speed
Black for aero
White for vibration dampening
Adjust the proportions to your desired ride quality
>>1067366
>this anon knows
just don't combine the three, that's a fred bike
how do i prevent this body type from happening if i cycle every day?
>>1065476
your legs aren't going to get that big from only riding. if they do start to get that big, it means you're lifting, so just try doing literally any lift other than deadlifts and squats
Since you are asking this, don't worry about it, as it takes a lot of effort (read squatting, dealifting) to reach that level of t-rex.

Tubus + Ortlieb master race
No others need apply, if you do not have this exact combo you might as well dangle walmart bags from the handlebars of your walmart BSO as you awkwardly pedal at 45 RPM on the sidewalk
>>1068468
yeah haha.. that would be pretty dumb..
*shoves walmart bags under the bed
Get a rear rack and attach a milk crate (or similar) to it with hose clamps
What do you fags think of this place?
fucking legend
worked there, too corporate to feel like a comfy LBS and the pay was shit
>>1068229
Which location did you work at? Do you work at a different LBS now and if so which one? I agree with you (working there off and on) and considering working at a different LBS.

There should be a BMI requirement for lycra, with a license renewal every 6 months.

Has anyone ever used a zip tie for wheel truing? Is it effective?
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4jLnfcNO0jA
Yup, all you need is a point of reference to spot a wobble. Sometimes I just use the brake pads as a reference for a quick adjustment. On my truing stand I use a dial indicator and adjustable arm which makes it easy to find the most out of true spots quickly.
Once you find an out of true spot, just pluck the spokes like guitar strings to find the one whose pitch is lower than the ones next to it.
>>1067824
>dial indicator
>spoke sounds
Okay.. you need to have someone who actually knows how to true wheels show you the right way to do it.
You do not need the accuracy of a dial indicator. The arms on your truing stand are more than enough.
Spoke tension does not equal loose spoke(s). The tension of each spoke can be different, especially if the wheel in question has had at least one broken spoke over the course of it's lifetime.
I don't even own a truing stand or trust myself to true a wheel on my own bikes and I know these things. Please update your knowledge and skills before advising others, thanks.

>Okay.. you need to have someone who actually knows how to true wheels show you the right way to do it.
Implying having wheels trued to less than 5/1000 of an inch is wrong.
May be a totally stupid and pointless idea, but does anyone think a race between a zeppelin and a locomotive is a good idea? Like would anyone (besides steampunk fans) pay to see it? Talking full-size zeppelin, not a Goodyear blimp.
>>1067520
The train would obviously win.
How about entering a blimptrain into the race?
>>1067620
Then there can be no real victor, ergo no proper race.
This is Pulogebang terminal
claimed to be the biggest in South East Asia
Even though it opened in 2010 ,full operation only started in December 2016 due to various problems such as no highway access and it's location being in the middle of nowhere
Groovy.

What are some essential cycling snacks and fuel to keep for 30 + mile trips?
I just started cycling and am really underweight but I plan to do long commutes so I need to avoid my organs eating themselves.
I skip the expensive meme foods and just drink Ensure.
>>1066769
>He needs to eat to do 40 miles rides.
You don't unless it's a race. Just put some sugar and salt in your water.
>>1066820
well I was told "dude youre gonna be burning like 4 thousand calories...you know you have to eat a ton or you'll be dropping pounds every week"
Personally, I don't want to have to eat a lot, and I don't think I needed it that bad when I did a test ride. But it is slightly precarious in my situation since I'm already way under a normal BMI.
I think I'm going to maybe just have some grilled fish after a ride or and a food pouch, but I think you are right because for 30 miles I wasn't feeling like I was starving to death or sick.
