Alrighty railfans, poll time. Tell us your favorite narrow gauge railroad, and why that railroad should be regarded the best narrow gauge in the world, or your country/ state at least.

My favourite are picturesque Harz Narrow Gauge Railways.
Longest single network of narrow gauge railway in Germany, with a total length of 140.4 km (87 miles), 44 stations and halts. Its trains run daily to a timetable and it operates more than ten steam locomotives, seven diesel railbuses and three trams.
The most famous part is Brocken Railway wich
runs the highest mountain of the Harz at 1,141 m (3,743 ft)

Pretty gay but you don't get a lot of bike movies, so I like to take what I can get.
The story is boring, and it's pretty much just a hipster fixie mess life stroke flick, but it's decently fun enough to enjoy passively.
The black dude who rides gears and fucks the MC's waifu is my favorite character.

Hi, I know nothing about trucking, just starting to get into it.
I have been looking around at different Pumper trucks, and started to look at alibaba to see what the price was in a capitalist market.
Apparently I could buy the truck of my dreams, 4 wheel drive, small, but big enough to haul a tank with a pump attached and a cummins engine for 1/5 - 1/6 of the price in America.
What gives?
Why can't I buy my chinese truck and run my business (my father told me it would never be allowed in america)?

If it doesn't add track/train capacity it probably isn't worth it. We don't need another pointless rebuild like what they want to do with Penn Station.

It's nice though, I guess. Wasn't union station designed to support skyscrapers?

My saddle is now bent a bit. What is a good saddle for mtb if my sitting bones start hurting after 20km+ rides?
13 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
Ideally you should sit on a bunch of saddles to see what they feel like on your ass.
But it also could be the case that your ass just isn't battle hardened. You don't break in saddles, you break in your ass.
>>
>>1075955
I ride 100km + per weekvon my road bike. I rarely get to go Mountainbiking but I had this bike for 5 years now and I think I broke in the saddle enough to tell I'd doesn't fit.
It got worse over the last year or so so maybe I've just finished that one
>>
>>1075934
wtb volt is my go-to. cheap, fits, doesn't ravage my assbones.

you could also try chamois butter.

Meant to ask, more appropriate for /bqg/ but it's here so I'll ask. Had these pedals for two years since I first got into cycling. The bearings are fucked. Need new. I am considerably fitter and more skilled now than when I bought these. Should I get road pedals? Will I notice a difference? I know I have a "gravel" bike but I pretty much only ride on roads.
>>
>>1074257
They are much nicer, but the cleats end up costing a fortune if you live where there are traffic lights
>>
>>1074270

Lots of traffic lights both on my way to work, and on the way out of town to go for rides in the hills. What are we looking at do you think, two/three sets a year?

i sleep next to my bmx bike in the back of my truck most nights of the week. i keep a mattress, a softcased cooler full w/ 1gallon of ice, hemp seed and hummus, tortilla chips, and a cast iron double pan/lid thingy + propane double burner stove.

I really only spend money on beer and gas. food is mostly free.
I wish my knee wasnt fucked up or i would ride most of my shorter trips. i suppose i still could. maybe i could attach my commuter to the hood of my truck. i bet that would kill gas milage on longer trips.

If you're riding some trails and come across a large patch of mud, would you say it's better to just ride through it, or ride around it?

Keep in mind that this is a singletrack and the trail can only get so wide.

I'm not quite sure which is the better option because on the one hand you're making the mud deeper, but on the other hand you're just going to make the mud wider over time until it's almost impassible.
