quick question; what (chemicals) would be best for removing mold from unglazed porcelain/ceramic? The object I'm trying to clean is kinda enclosed and molded from the inside, so I can't easily access it mechanically.

That .. actually sounds surprisingly reasonable. I suppose the biggest problem would be ensuring good, even burn and avoid cracking.

Hey everyone,

I'm not really very experienced with diy projects, but I have been spending a bunch of money to have some things shipped from China and they appear to be made almost entirely of this rectangular plastic tubing (about 15mm x 10mm hollow rectangles) cut to various lengths with some holes drilled in for screws and bolts and whatnot. This should be simple enough to make. However, I have no idea where to find this kind of tubing (or if it even qualifies as tubing at all). Do any of you know where I could obtain this kind of material? I looked up and down every aisle at Home Depot and they don't have anything that comes close. Pic related is the longest piece used. I'm also not opposed to learning how to 3d print or cast these pieces myself if necessary, although I'm not sure how I would get them to be hollow if I did that (I would like to stick with the hollow design because it keeps the weight down).

Prolly dicked anon.

Save a lot of stress and maybe order some lengths of aluminum square tubing and bolts off of amazon.
>>
>>1221858
I thought of using aluminum, but the problem is that this will be used as housing for electronics and I would need to insulate it from electricity using a non-flammable material. Also, I suspect cutting and drilling into aluminum is probably more of a pain.

Here is what it looks like from the other relevant angle

Hi guys, this is my first time posting here so forgive me if I'm a bit messy. Tryng to decorate my room for the first time (I'm 21 and never really bothered even so much as to hang a poster in my room), and I absolutely adore sci fi and cyberpunk settings. Any ideas for ez decor I can do?

Bunk beds and pull down blinds. Voila

Some kind of bed with storage system built in is usually pretty cyberpunk looking. Also weatherproof cases for storage. Raw concrete is always cyberpunk. Also cables everywhere. You could buy a garbage server rack or make a mockup of one and use it as storage/build your rig into it.

Anyone know of a good tutorial on how to get a finish on saw rough granite?

I just got a bunch of labrador emerald pearl granite, but it is only polished on the surface and I cannot seem to find a good tutorial on how to polish it from ground up in ger.
Since I do not know what the right search terms for this would be in english I thought about asking you guys.

Thank you for your help!

If you have an angle grinder invest in an adhesive sandpaper backer and lots of sandpaper, 60-1000 grit. You can still get a nice shine without using stones and wet pads. Keep in mind you're going to have to work the stone longer than you would a piece metal or wood.

I am kinda insecure, especially on technical terms.
I also got a temporary ban when I had a man behind the ger.

Fruit flies generally can be found breeding in drains and garbage disposals.

Try taking the pipe off out from under your kitchen sink and cleaning them and cleaning your garbage disposal if you have one. You could also look for a product that will remove grease and other build up from the drains. Invade Hotspot foam is a good one but it is not a super fast acting product.

Pouring bleach down the drains will not work because the eggs that are laid in the build up are equipped with a retractable breathing tube and the will just pull it in until the bleach runs past. You could use an aerosol insecticide like raid and spray it down the drain as well for a fast knock down but until you clean out the source they're just gonna come back.

Check it out --I made this at work during break today--a knife made of low-carbon high grade stainless steel.

Somebody said that it won't be a good knife because there is not enough carbon in it--hence won't hold an edge, but I think it will be good enough for cutting sausages over a camp fire.

Notice too hold I grinded in very nice and need finger groves to make a comfortable grip--ALSO, a thumb/index finger groove on the blunt edge for leverage.

I'm proud of my 1 hours work.

Not all of us can afford to dispense our salt these days.

The standard: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/smalt-the-world-s-first-interactive-centerpiece-health#/

As an avid /diy'er, but short on cash, I am looking for an cheaper method to dispense salt for my meals

What's the best way to DIY my own salt distribution without the required IoT devices these days?

Bluetooth enabled hydraulics to drive a salt grinding mechanism in a glass housing, with built in vibrator so it self cleans when you press a button on the screen of your iphone so you can remote control it. Also RGB lighting to show the remaining level of salt.

i would ask /o/, but i think more expertise would be here.

I'm wiring up an aftermarket 12v car stereo amp myself, and I'm trying to find a good grounding point.

Using basic searches of how to get a good ground (or even what makes a good ground) gives me crappy and conflicting answers 4 pages deep. "You should check for zero resistance" "Resistance doesn't matter because basic dmms cant measure the range right" "just check for any continuity" "test between the amp and the ground" "only test back to the battery ground" etc etc seems all i can find on various forums.

So, Ii have no ground for this amp atm. How do I decide on and test/measure a ground's quality?

The car chassis. You just find a spot that is a. nearby and easy to get to b. has clean exposed metal c. protected from moisture or dirt and d. allow a secure connection.
>>
>>1221104
this. where those seats bolt onto the floor should work.
>>
>>1221103
The ground for a house almost certainly works differently from a car. A home ground is literally dirt. It takes a decent bit of effort for charge to go from A to B, so it makes it possible to get a clean signal by spacing out your grounds.

A car chassis is highly conductive, causing charge to quickly distribute evenly along the chassis, so it almost certainly doesn't matter where you ground at.

Is this thing safe to use?

I can't find a date but I'd guess it's ~10 years old and has been sitting in a garage the whole time
A little rusty but I messed with the valve and it seems to work still
What are the chances of it blowing up in my face

The only thing I'd worry about is the valve leaking to much which will cause the fuel to burn out of control. But I don't think it will explode.
>>
>>1220672
In order for it to explode you need air.
Good old triangle of fire, you need fuel heat and oxygen.
If its pressurised (gas inside is more bouncy than the gas outside) then air can't get in can it?
So it can't explode because of the gas, might it explode just from the pressure because of a defect in the tank? Well its possible, but how much pressure really is in there? I don't know sorry but if your happy to handle it like that I'd be happy to use it.

Anyway tanks are consumable, you don't refill them so go get another one if you are not sure and swap the burners over. Get a 'mapp' cylinder anyway its hotter so therefore better. Just don't dispose of it in a bonfire unless you are really cool.

I work nights. I'm trying to make my bedroom light proof. I can't seem to find a tape that will hold my blackout curtains against the wall to keep light out. What can i use to keep it stuck to the wall without damaging the wall too much

Suggestions?

Also the duct tape keeps coming off after 5-6 hours.

I've put it up 3 times over the last 2 days and it just keeps coming off

Sticks to the wall fine but not the curtain for too long
>>
Pop the curtain rod out of the groove that's holding it 4" away from the wall, and push it back against the wall on each end. Secure its new position with some tape or a clamp, and the light will be cut out a lot more.

Hey,

I'm gonna check out a project-house later this week. It's listed as "in need of a full renovation". Well I've been snooping around a bit already. In the yard is shipping container I suspect contains building materials and tools. Though one of the upper windows i can see a box which seem to contain building materials.

According to the agent, the house is being sold of as part of an inheritance. My impression is that the person renovating it passed away halfway through. I want to know how long ago this renovation as under way. If there any way i can deduct this from the building materials during the viewing? Are there any dates or other numbers that are printed on packaging and insulation materials?
