So I have run into some confusion regarding the nutritional information on food labels recently - specifically the differences between products from different countries.
So let's talk Nutrition Information /ck/
Here's my specific example. I live in Canada but visited the US last weekend. While grocery shopping I grabbed some stuff that we have in Canada too but I was surprised to see that things like calorie content were different, even though the product itself was exactly the same.
Pic related, it's one of the things I bought. In Canada these things are 220cal each. But the box I bought in America says that they are 190cal. But they are identical. Same food, same size, same brand, exact same everything. So why the difference?
Do foods have a different screening process or labeling procedure in other countries? Where is the lower calorie count coming from? Are labeling regulations more lax in USA so companies round their totals down to look better? I'm really curious now. Anyway, thanks /ck/
Pics or it didn't happen.
Specifically one of each ND label and each ingredients list.

That is literally not possible.
I did 10 seconds of Googling, and it seems like bars are 42g in the USA and 46g in Canada.
>>8959800
I don't have it on me right this second to take a comparison shot, unfortunately.
But I really have seen this. I like having Quest Bars in my gym bag for example. Even the same bars in the same flavours are different. Cookies and Cream Quest bar in Canada is 210cal. The ones I bought at a GNC in the states? 190.
what is in your fridge?
>your moms pussy i like to keep it fresh
Sadness, mostly.
Need to go shopping desu senpai
What spices and herbs do you think are underrated and should be used more often?
Salt. Very underated.
>>8959221
Sumac.
>>8959221
i think they're all very well used really. just depends what you are making... I mean, if you only make Italian food i would imagine that you wouldn't use much lemongrass or turmeric; whereas others who make curries and Asian dishes would. so yea, it all depends on you.
>but for a good almost all rounder, id say bay leafs
Did you go this weekend? Just got back from mine. Got some small tomatoes (sakura honey variety), strawberries (that time of the year folks) persian cucumbers (for pickles), and a bag of carrots
strawberries in season are really great because the grocery store ones invariably taste like wet garbage
>>8959140
Go but I planted a garden. tomatoes, bell peppers, sweet corn, watermelon, strawberries, carrots, onions, potatoes, string beans, cayenne peppers, jalapenos and some other stuff.
>>8959478
damn that's a lot of stuff. Did you dig our your yard to make beds?

There's this place near me run by what seems to be a couple of Arab folks - when you look behind the counter, you can see signage with Arabic on it. (Religious? Dunno.)
Anyway, this place offers fried chicken, burgers, sandwiches, fries, onion rings, that sort of thing - everything except pork products.
They're not bad, either. But I would have expected falafel, gyros, stuff like that.
Do you have a place near you like this?
>>8958927
I walk past it every day. I can't stand the sight of slowly rotating pillar of dry meat being shaved off every 4 hours.
>>8958927
Yeah, there's a cheesesteak/burger/hoagie joint near me; owner is Lybian, speaks Arabic and doesn't serve middle eastern food.
He advertises halal lamb and chicken sandwiches, but also serves bacon burgers.
>>8958934
> He doesn't know the wonders of the doner kebab
I'm out of garlic so i don't know what to cook with the two chicken breasts i have. I have onions, potatoes, spices, rice, carrots and a bit of celery.
what can i cook?
>>8958842
Throw it all in a pot and make chicken soup
Then you have everything for soup. Yummy.
Hey /ck/! Im making carbonara. I can't afford guanciale or prosciutto so I'm using bacon instead. I have my own chickens so these eggs are ethical. Using jarlsburg and gouda for the cheese topping.
Are you following Binging with Reddits recipe for this?
Tell us now. We'll know if you're lying.
>>8958203
>bacon
>jarlsberg
>gouda
Okay, but don't call it carbonara. That's not what you're making.
Cheese shredded...
>avid meat eater
>made steak for the first time and enjoyed it not too long ago
>sociology prof brings in presenter for ethical eating
>recommends some vegan foods
>decide to the vegan tenders for shits and giggles expecting it to be terrible
>actually tastes good can't tell it from regular chicken unless I ate it back to back
Has any non-vegan here tried vegan or vegetarian food and liked it? Did you eat more or was it just a pleasant experience.

A friend of mine who largely avoids eating meat unless it's something exotic cooked me a laksa a couple of months ago which featured jellyfish and century egg. The dish was actually quite nice and the only thing I didn't like was the horrible, spongy soy atrocity masquerading as chicken
I've had veggie burgers that were alright.
The problem isn't that they taste bad, it's that they taste nothing like the burgers they're trying to imitate.
If I'm hungry for a burger, a burger-shaped slab of vegetable might not taste bad, but it'll sure be disappointing.
>>8957996
I am vegetarian and I agree these are pretty good. The Boca brand of chicken tenders are pretty bad, so stay away from them.
R*dpill me on sugar. Is it really worse than smoking?
This is a food and cooking board, we don't discuss pills here. Fuck off.
>>8957852
No just last years memes
>>8957856
Well actually now that you mention it, for me it is the McChicken, the best fast food sandwich.
thoughts on this slurp?
>>8957796
I'd rather drink kerosene, swallow a lit match and just sit back and see what happens.
>>8957798
Next time you can just say you haven't tried it, or not post at all
Isn't cinnamon what Dr pepper flavor is? Tastes like fucking cancer
I want off this ride
>>8957497

I would eat a Reuben pizza
Maybe not a frozen shit one but a real one certainly.
>>8957542

Don't.
I'm a fat fuck.
My oldest son is a fat fuck.
My daughter is a skinny bitch who can eat anything and stay skinny.
We have a dog...
Food does not go to waste in our house.
We threw this motherfucker away missing maybe four or five bites.
We bought it cause they were on clearance for like a buck fifty.
The dog would not eat it.
Cast Iron Fags I need your help
>Eat smoked mackerel every few days
>Room mates and landlord hate me for stinking out the house
>Tell me to cook it outside
>No outdoor grill
If I heat up a cast iron pan on the burner then take it outside will it stay hot enough to fry my fish for 5 minutes? Also I'm not supposed to wash it after each use right? How can I remove the fish stank so I can bring it inside?
>Room mates and landlord hate me for stinking out the house
Tell them they're faggots and keep doing it.
>>8957360
I've been doing that since I moved in but they're getting really pissed and landlord may kick me out
Rent is a great deal so I'd like to stay
>>8957363
>kicking someone out because they cook fish
Do Americans seriously do this?
Okay guys long story short my girlfriend has some weird food fetish where she wraps a certain food around my penis and proceeds to either sick or ride me until it breaks/mushes up and then we try something else. Sometimes she'll eat it. But she wanted to do it with a huge fucking pepper and wouldn't leave me alone so I said whatever let's do it then. Fast forward 2 hours and my dick won't stop fucking burning and I was erect when the chili touched and now I'm not so some of the skin just bunched up and now it hurts even more... What can I rub on it to help? Should I get hard when I do so I could spread it evenly? Mods please don't close in dead ass serious and don't know who else to ask
Also it's not just the skin it got under the skin and that part hurts more
>>8956695
Dip your cock in milk. You act like this is the first time this has happened to you, fucking newfag.
fucking shut up
What does /ck/ bring to work to eliminate hunger throughout the shift?
I usually pack a sandwich and a granola bar, but I decided to go with a bag of trail mix for the week or however long it ends up lasting me. If I have absolutely nothing to bring I just bring a huge travel mug full of coffee
Kimchi flavoured cup noodles with added dry onions, a banana, granola bar and diet coke
Cigarettes

Productivity, you fat sack of shit.
