I got my dog shaved and now it looks like a goofy motherfucker. Do dogs experience shame after being shaven or do they not give a shit?

Did you shave a long haired dog so it would be more comfy in the summer?

If yes, im sure the dog won't mind.
>>
>>2428425
well my dog is a mix between a pomeranian and a greek domesticated dog so it's small and pretty fluffy, plus my apartment is full of her hairs especially during summer
>>
Did you shave all the way to the skin?
That can make a dog really uncomfortable

My golden retriever's right paw has been swollen and inflamed for about a week. No limping. He does like a "cry of pain" when he puts pressure on it. What could this be and how can I treat it?

Slim Jim, died at four from a poisonous toad
Went out a badass, murder fucking three before the poison got to him, three months before his birthday. Seizured and foamed and all, hadn't seen him in a few months. Still miss him.

Leto Atreides here, 2013-2015. Cryptosporidiosis got him. I was very lucky to contain the outbreak with him as it very easily could have spread to my other geckos.

Anyway, he was good gecko. Very inquisitive and goofy. Losing him hurt pretty bad.

My dog died the morning of December 4, 2014. He'd been diagnosed with terminal liver cancer a few months prior, so I'd been giving him pain-killers. He was "fine" until the evening of the 3rd when he suddenly deteriorated. There was nowhere to take him to have him euthanized, so I had to wait until morning. He slept in my bed with me.

When morning came, he could no longer walk or even stand, just wobble. I scheduled an appointment at the vet and then I took him out front to go to the bathroom, which he thought meant we were going for a walk. He insisted we walk across the street to take our normal route. He was so excited, I couldn't tell him no, even though he shook with every step and fell down on every third. Once he'd peed, I carried him to the car, toured our little down, went to see our old house, got him some fried chicken, and took him in to be put down.

I was with him when it happened. First they inject animals to make them unconscious, then to stop their hearts. I crouched in front of him, loved on him, told him he's a good boy and that I love him. He had to have two rounds on the first injection, because he'd stayed awake. I really think he fought it, because he'd start to doze and then jerk his head back up, perk his ears, and make eye contact with me. I was too heartbroken to not want to spend all the time I had left with him, even thought I realize it prolonged the experience. Eventually, he went to sleep, and that's when the vet gave him the killing shot. I held him in my arms and felt his heart stop.

It was fucking traumatic and I half-regret being so close to this day.

I miss him a lot.

I like spiders, but it's probably some instinctual revulsion towards 8 legged things that may or may not be venomous. Crabs don't have the potential to bite.
>>
>>2426292
I don't think crabs or scorpions are okay. Still trigger me less than spiders though, yes.
The problem might be that spiders are... awfully more common in my area than either crabs or scorpions.
>>
>>2426292
i think it's some evolutionary purpose, humans that are innately frightened by spiders are more likely to survive and not die to spider bites

Have you ever consideredt it? I would like a pet, but these thoughts keep me from adopting something down from the shelter.

>birds are sad in cages
>hairless/non-allergenic cats get chilly in this climate
>dogs need more room (I live in shared flat)
>bunnies are happier munching on real grass outside

So don't shut it away in a cage?
So don't get a hairless cat?
So don't get a dog?
My old rabbit would always try to come inside and stay there, but I guess it depends.
>>
>>2429204
Thinking like this limits me to goldfish or bugs, and they're not that cuddly.
>>
>>2429207
Or like.. a regular cat? Pretty much the pet for your situation. Unless you're allergic, in which case there are other breeds that have fur that are hypoallergenic. Especially if you just make a point to vacuum often.

As for your birds point, I too hate the idea of birds being kept as pets. I suppose if the owner is VERY attentive, keeps the bird(s) out of the cages all the time and supervises it and really only puts it in at night, that's not so bad. But every fuckin bird I've seen in captivity is in a tiny cage, few/no toys (not that it makes it better), is never let out, and bites when handled and is very loud. They just kinda make shitty pets unless you do a lot to make them happy, but then again I guess that's any pet

This. This is normal for baby birds anon, it's how they figure out how flying works.

and no it's not like some animals where your smell will make them desert the baby. It's fine, put it back.

Help, there are wasps at my daughters window, so I sprayed some of that wasp spray at the area where they enter and exit.

I know you dont like seeing animals killed, but I had to protect my daughter (she is 7 Months old)

Now after over half an hour they are still moving around loudly. They have gotten a bit more noisy, but I am scared they get through indoors somehow.

We love killing animals.

Especially wasps. No good wasp ever existed.

What kind of wasp killer did you buy, and are you sure they were wasps.

When you shot the wasps did you pretend you had a flamethrower and completely doused the nest until it looked like a snowman?

Or did you lightly caress the wasps buttocks with a slight glazing of love?

How big was the nest

Are pigeons the most misunderstood animals? Most people see them as dirtbags full of diseases, even though it isn't the pigeons' fault, it's the people who let their trash exposed's fault. If an animal sees an easy food source, of course they're going to get it, and trash is full of diseases and bugs, so the birds get them from there. Plus, city pollution is a very contributing factor. Street dogs and cats are also full of bugs and diseases for the same reasons, but most people still love them. I bet that if instead of pigeons, the birds that were successful in cities were ducks or parrots, people wouldn't hate on them, because of their flashy colors or whatever.
Pigeons that aren't forced to live near trash are just like chickens actually, they're as clean as any other bird, they're a great companion, and they're pretty tasty.

It's seriously not pigeons' fault. They were introduced to the US as a food source that multiplies fruitfully for early settlers. They've become irrelevant for obvious reasons and a pest for unfortunate ones.
>>
>>2428162
Pigeons aren't forced to live around human garbage, they literally prefer it. You never see pigeons in wild areas even right next to development.

So my best friend is getting an english bulldog (pic related : that's the little guy) and we're looking for a name. It's already decided that his usual name would be Winston, but it needs another name for the pedigree and, because of retarded rules, it has to become with a goddamn "Q" this year. Any idea that would sound delightfully british ?

Quincey and Quigly have quite a nice ring, but not sure my friend would go for it. Btw, it can be a composed name with "Winston" as middle or last name, as long as the first name begins with a "Q". We thought of Quentin Winston Cash or Quentin Winston Wallace so far, but it lacks a bit of goofiness imho.

Also, here's the mother feeding the pups.

Any tips about care?

This is exactly what i was going to do, but i found it on the street so its lost from its owners so i tried to find the owners and i got no results.
I told to my brother that i was going to a park or some place where the tortoise fits but instead he said "no, leave it for me" and the other family members agreed, so we had to keep it sadly.
Sorry, for my bad english
>>
>>2427657
How do you know it isn't a native species? If you're certain its a pet then you should give it to someone who knows how to keep them unless you're willing to properly set up an expensive enclosure/pond for it. Releasing it near any nice body of water in a forest is probably the best thing you can do though, you won't find the owner.

Seems like a pretty bad idea, having a dog with the size of a Great Dane and the aggression of a chihuahua.
