Are pigeons the most misunderstood animals? Most people see them as dirtbags full of diseases, even though it isn't the pigeons' fault, it's the people who let their trash exposed's fault. If an animal sees an easy food source, of course they're going to get it, and trash is full of diseases and bugs, so the birds get them from there. Plus, city pollution is a very contributing factor. Street dogs and cats are also full of bugs and diseases for the same reasons, but most people still love them. I bet that if instead of pigeons, the birds that were successful in cities were ducks or parrots, people wouldn't hate on them, because of their flashy colors or whatever.
Pigeons that aren't forced to live near trash are just like chickens actually, they're as clean as any other bird, they're a great companion, and they're pretty tasty.

It's seriously not pigeons' fault. They were introduced to the US as a food source that multiplies fruitfully for early settlers. They've become irrelevant for obvious reasons and a pest for unfortunate ones.

Pigeons aren't forced to live around human garbage, they literally prefer it. You never see pigeons in wild areas even right next to development.

I enable pigeons he way people enable cats

The pidgeon's reputation has little to do with the US, they are like that everywhere. Try crossing the San Marco square in Venice, for instance, without developing either a phobia or an intense hatred for the feathery fuckers.

>every pidgeon is the same species
The city pidgeon as a descendant of the rock pigeon has been bred to lose many of their important instincts, can't build a nest and needs the city because of the lack of natural predators and because they use houses and unaccessable areas to breed.

I wish the pigeon was looking out the window and it was in a skyscraper so it could be a picture of a pigeon going "Ah, the city."
