I've heard amazing things about that Falun Gong stuff, but haven't tried it. I am a Usui Reiki Master (level 3 for most systems) however.

There are four sacred symbols, you learn three of them at level 2 and the final master symbol at level 3. There's a power/activation/protection symbol that has lots of uses (I've got a decal of this symbol on the tank of my motorcycle, but that's cause I like how it looks), a mental/emotional symbol, and a long distance symbol.

I'm sure it's helped my life, and people love receiving reiki, but if I had my money again I wouldnt worry about it.

However, in recent years people have been debating whether or not the long distance symbol can be used for attunements aswell.
Some people say that attunements can only be performed in person by a reiki master. Others claim it is possible.
There are plenty of free attunements on the internet so you don't have much to lose. Just don't charge for reiki without having in person attunements and proper documentation of your lineage.

You should look up Reichian therapy, as well.

It's not just you who thought about this method, fiction did too.
In Zero Time Dilemma, it is explained that a shifter can jump to another timeline if he's facing a near death experience, switching place with the you of another timeline and letting him die instead. I'm sure there are more fictional works on the subject, but I don't read much, sadly.
As to whether what you wrote is real or not, maybe you've made mistakes you can't live with and want to fix them, most people would just suicide to end their suffering not starting life again, so you're trying to delude yourself into thinking it's like this.

Its okay Op, I don't remember your original post but I imagine its quite a common thing.
Animist beliefs are some of the oldest we know. And finding qualities that resonate with you is a good find.
I like meerkats and wolves cause they look out for their families and friends. Those are qualities I like about myself. So by realising that I have a better understanding of my core values and beliefs, which helps me exercise better judgement in areas of my life.

So in that way it could be a helpful thing for you Op.

OP: I had the same thing, only it came alive in hypnotherapy. I had my doubts, serious doubts, and yet some how he was able to pry open that door and let it all flood in.

It was emotional, I was a temporary faggot because of all those emotions. He dug into my childhood, past lives. I envisioned myself as a Sea Turtle, female no less looking for a place to lay its eggs away from predatory birds. It was beautiful, confusing, I didn't come out a better man because of it. But... It was enlightening to say the least.

The next session he dug deeper, he pushed me to the furthest ends of my thinking or comprehending bounds. My life before that, I was a soul. An aura of gas in space some where...

Its wild shit, cool to think about... I dunno, good waste of $1,500 of government money to try and cure my bi-polar depression. That'll kill me first, it won't be a meteor or wave that will kill me... It will be my own mind wanting to destroy something so fragile.

I only feel illegitimate for having tricked myself into believing such things, unfortunately. I had a wild imagination, and used past life regressions on YouTube to attempt to figure things out about myself. If an appealing idea formed in my mind about a past life, it became fact to me. That's how those regressions worked, "It's real if it feels good". Kind of destructive advice desu. At my peak, I unironically believed I was a male Bald eagle in a past life, that I had died fighting another eagle, that I lived by a lake, and most disturbingly of all, that I could remember very detailed instances of bird sex. That's one of the things that helped me take a step back and really look at myself. Ask myself what I was really doing, it was some wierd shit. I used to sleep with compacted cloth bags of heated rice under my stomach because I would pretend that they were "eggs".
