What are the best?
Super Monaco GP is my favourite, Genesis version is also GOAT
>>3344920
Is that arcade version?
>>3344920
Yes, console versions are way less detailed. IIRC the Amiga version has good visuals but I still haven't tried it
What are good PSX/PC games to play them on PSX?
>>3343872
You mean like ports of PC games to PSX? Quake 2
>>3343886
Doom
Diablo
C&C: Red Alert
Warcraft
Can't think of any others.
>>3343872
Sim Theme Park isn't bad, but it's always stuck in overhead view. Theme Park is a better port.
I'm searching for an old RTS game, a bit like age of empires 1. It had a unit in it that would have 3 guys squashing berries with their feet in a building creating wine, that's basically the only thing I remember. Anyone knows the game?
O wait I think it was 1 guy squashing the berries

So I'm playing Skies of Arcadia and I've managed to make it to the half-way point according to my journal and so far it's a mixed bag for me.
I really like the characters and the setting. And it looks beautiful, no complaints about any of those. The battle system is pretty cool too. I really like how magic usage is so much more lenient in contrast to other RPGs. I'm a big fan of SP, it relies more on tactics rather than balanced usage of magic/special skills throughout your journey. I love how you can just fully heal your ship without being set back all that much by doing so and being able to use lambda burst/rain of swords on random encounters and not be hindered at all.
But I've gotta say, I'm seriously disappointed by how much involvement the people you recruit into your crew actually has in the game. They do so little! I just came off of playing Shining force (another sega RPG) and coming into this game I expected to order my crew around in at LEAST ship battles... But their only purpose is either to provide a passive skill or a one-time bonus. Very sad.
Another complaint is that the battles drag on for so long... So very very very long. You're waiting more for animations to finish rather than thinking about what to do next.
But other than that I like the game very much. What are your thoughts on the game, /vr/?
>>3343601
I want to like Skies but I dropped it early because the encounter rate mixed with the length of battle and amount of exploration you gotta do just made it infuriating for me.
If Sega released a PC port with the option to lower it I'd buy it in a heart beat.
>>3343605
What's more infuriating is that if you decide to run away from battles you get penalized for it by having your title go down.
It's really funny.
My fiancees two favorite retro rpgs are Skies of Arcadia and Grandia 2. I like SoA a bit myself, but we both prefer Legends. She beat SoA about 7 times now. I have only beat it on DC and GC once each.
Not much to say except the game was good. Better when you remember what it was being released along side.
Don't mind me, just posting gore.

Super Famicom's Satellaview "BS Zelda no Densetsu" finally gets live audio restoration patch via MSU-1 ROM hack

Oooooo
Dubbed to English or with the original broadcast audio from somebody's VHS tape?
>>3341506
English dubbed unfortunately. I'm not too fond on the voice actor, but beggars can't be choosers. It's still amazing they managed to actually make it though.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=diowlUh8-Pk
Here's a video from last year, don't know if the audio changed since.
Also goddamn the audio files are over 2GB.
>>3341537
Sounds like it's begging for my radio voice and audio compression knowledge to redub it. What's the voice supposed to be? Gannon? God?
What was up with EA's obsession with 5fps early 3D flight sims?
They're everywhere on PC and Genesis. I guess they must have been big sellers despite the shit performance.
>overclocked console/play the games on Megasis emulator/increase cycles in DosBox
>?????
I can understand what you mean though, the games were too advanced for the hardware they're designed at the time
>>3341654
Since we began to talk about too advanced games for hardware, I'd like to mention Road Rage.
It uses actual software scaling.
I always wanted an overclocked Genesis core for the Mega Everdrive so I could run these 3D games full speed.

How do we fix Blue shit?
>actual unique weapons that aren't just re-skins
>being able to use terminals to indirectly fuck with enemies
>maybe even avoid fights by doing so
>new aliens
>replace crowbar with nightstick that can knock out enemies from behind (stealth section? Like a chapter where you get captured by grunts and need to escape)
>go full RE4's separate ways and have Barney going through some of the same places Gordon went through in the original game, either before or after the events
>if before your actions in that room would set up the scenario for Gordon (powered up chapter starts with grunts fighting gargantuan right away in the original game, maybe in BS you would need to escape from the Gargantuan and block his path that would later be destroyed by Gordon with the cart)
>actual fucking final boss

A Link to the Past is one of my favorite games of all time.I've only played the GBA port.
What's with the Zelda raid my dude?

Thankfully the based janitor is removing your shitposting. Hopefully that comes with a ban.
What old games do you consider to be unknown or to be underrated, /vr/?

I'm very curious about this game. The ISO is out, and i think it would be interesting for a translator anon to translate it.
Redpill me on the PC Engine. Why do I want one? What's good about it? is it worth it without the CD expansion?
>>3332019
First off...
>>3332021
This,
Secondly, if you like shmups, the PC Engine is a wet dream come true.
>>3332038
I've never really played any shmups but I'm interested, do you have a list?
>>3332021
>>3332041
I'm sorry I want to know more about what seems to be somewhat of a cult system on here and in other places
>>3332019
The CD addon has some of the best games of the library.
To play all of them you'd need to get the upgrade card. the duos (versions of the consoles with the cd addon built in) already have the card, so those are your best bet unless you really feel like buying 3 seperate things.
the pc-engine has a shit ton of great shmups if you're into those, and niche stuff like dating sims. splatterhouse and rondo of blood are also both must plays.
So, uh.. did the GCCX thread move to another board, or...? Just checking..
the last one got archived. Lack of new subbed episodes and shitposters are ruining the GCCX general. Better wait for the next subbed episode to come in january to open a new one.
Oh, well ok then. I was just worried the shitposters had finally won and gotten the thread banned or something.
>>3331040
I know, I was worried ecelebs were finally totally banned in this forum.

Feel free to discuss vintage handheld consoles in general, including the Nintendo Gameboy family, Sega Game Gear, Atari Lynx, WonderSwan, Neo Geo Pocket, etc.
ToT: How many accessories can you cram on a handheld before it becomes "handheld"?
By the way, does anyone have the screencap of that one Anon whe crammed a Game Genie, Game Shark, Mega Memory Card, complete Handy Boy, and a battery booster pac all onto a gameboy with pokemon yellow, and then plugged it all into a N64 transfer card?
This is the stupidest general idea I have ever seen.
Post old school gaming related art. Anything goes, from in-game screenshots to box/cabinet art to pinball backglass to arcade flyers to ads to original art. If it's classic gaming related and it looks cool then let's see it.
Show me a bad retro Star Wars game. You can't.
