Hey guys, what's up? Mind if I bring my friends along?
Bloody hell
You're not invited anywhere, Wanker.
You're a nuisance!
>>3347746
But they're really interesting people!
Bollocks and Poppycock!
/vr/ i need your help with a game i used to play
It was an old turn based strategy game, here is all i remember:
-Races: Humans, cloaked horned alien things (devils? black or brown robes), bug race with big eyes, i think there were more
-you could build tidal wave machines off shore and wreck peoples land
-to fight, you sent your units onto an opponents "square" that also had units, and at the end of a turn you would go into a short cut scene of sorts to watch them fight. units would run around attacking each other
-i remember a hatred for air units in this game cause they ruined everything
-if it was not obvious, sci-fi like
-had to keep population happy with art/etc. reminds me of civ (actually i might go check older civs just in case but i doubt it)
pic unrelated but game was old
Deadlock?
>>3347890
yes that's it! thanks anon!
Who's your favorite Darkstalker?
Do you prefer Hunter or Savior?
Savior because I'm a filthy casual pleb.
The catgirl is the funnest to play as for me.
>>3347564
Gameplay wise I like sasquatch and qbee. Design wise I think huitzil, lei lei, and lilith are my favorites, honestly there's not a design I don't like.
>>3347569
Savior is what most people play, nothing "pleb" about it.
>>3347571
>funnest
>cat girl
Did you actually play any of the games?
What's the name of the game that appears between 0:17 and 0:25?

Picture is unrelated
Trespasser.
>>3347486
THANK YOU! I've been searching for this game for a long time. You are god amongst men anon
>>3347506
No problem. Stay cool.

Hey guys, I wanna get into some obscure personal computer games (pre-windows). Platform doesn't really matter, but I do wanna be able to emulate. What would you guys recommend?
ZX Spectrum
Some really obscure shit on there because it was only really popular in the UK. Lots of exclusives.

SQIJ
MSX
Sharp X68000
System 1 - 7 (Mac OS)
What is your opinion of spine cards?
Collectors pay more for them, as it is more complete.
I personally like how they look when you have the CDs lined up on a shelf, you can read the titles better as they're bigger, but most of them are always in japanese so that might be useless for people who can't read it.
I collect J-music more than video games, so I'm used to them.
Also, you likely need to have a plastic wrap for the CD case and the obi. Most people just store the obi inside the CD case.
They look pretty neat when the game's shrinkwrapped. If I had my jewel case games in those mylar cases I'd take them out of the manuals where I keep them and put them back on their spines
Plastic sleeves would be fantastic for displaying the spine cards. I wonder if there are any retro stores that ship to EU.
Hey /vr/ so I want to get into street fighter. Not looking to play competitively. Kinda want it just to play around with friends and for characters and story stuff. This is the only game I already own. (I think my dad got it from the rental place) what games are the best? I have a pc to emulate and I also have a Genesis, ps1, ps2, ps3, GameCube and Wii. I'd be open to maybe getting a dream cast tho.
That game's actually real good if you have a 6 button arcade stick. The only thing better will be MAME.
>>3347090
Yeah I like it, just looking to branch out a bit
>>3347084
>The only thing better will be MAME.
"no"
One of my favorite simulation games. Anyone else on /vr/ remember it?
>>3346813
I've played the tabletop version. Pretty intense. The game probably better suits being computerised
Harpoon is the shit!
>>3346915
It is shit. Seriously, Matrix still asks for 50 bucks for it, while the database is written by a 10-year-old, inconsistent shit.
What does /vr/ think of these guys?
>>3346728
Niche games, but not my cup of tea.
>>3346728
Best grand strategy developer ever.
>>3346728
shitty games like aerobiz and other shit like the pirate game. all complete shit, but 20 year olds think they da bomb. sub 40% reviews for every koei game
whats your thoughts on this? i just rented and watched it on google play.it was good, worth the $5
>>3346529
Waiting until I can pirate it. Been waiting for years, I barely even care anymore.
>>3347865
desu king of kong is better but this is still good.
>>3348198
I just downloaded it, it looks good so far. Might even be as good as KoK if it keeps up the pace.
Does /vr/ like RCT?
Not really, no.
>>3346218
Theme Park World is superior.
>>3346239
And by superior, I mean it's utter shit.
Has anyone on /vr/ had any luck before installing/running Win95 on Dosbox to play early Windows games?
>>3346083
that sounds terrifying
>>3346083
Yes. It's awful.
Install virtualbox and install a 32bit version of XP.
>>3346098
Alright, thanks. Guess I won't waste my time on it.
How do you pronounce Lakitu?
I say la-kee-two
>>3345906
Sea-gar.
Because that's how it's pronounced.
>>3345906
Lackitwo.
No emphasis on the i.
>most underrated soundtrack
>most underrated ambiance
>most underrated charm
i loved loved loved this game despite its highly significant flaws. i still cant beat it though.
thoughts?
>>3345817
Bump for OP. I struggled with this as a teen when it dropped, should I go back and see if I got good?
It's a very weird game from what I remember. I'd like to play through it again since I never beat it as a kid and only barely remember some of the larger game points.
It's inferior to Romancing Saga 3 in my opinion but still a great game.
Asellus and Red are the best scenarios. T260 is also cool for a full robot team.
After you finish like two scenarios you will realize you're doing the same thing over and over though. Still a fun game.
