Is this worth getting? Apparently the PS2 version has terrible input lag, while the Wii version has no support for the classic controller and no dpad support for the GameCube controller.
>>3351420
You're better off just getting the individual games off the virtual console.

I don't buy digital media.

>Note I don't count consoles like the Saturn or Dreamcast as failed (as both sold nearly 10 million worldwide and had plenty of support and software titles).
A lot of consoles that bomb horribly still end up having a few notable software titles that end up being very good despite being on doomed hardware.
Pic related is my personal favorite.
Virtual Boy Wario Land is still probably the best Wario platformer, and I am still finding new hidden rooms through each play through. A masterpiece lost to time.
Galactic Pinball is a very underrated virtual pinball game, and overall probably even overlooked over other games in the Virtual Boy's very limited library. It even has a mini-game where you control Samus's starship.
Mario Clash is the sequel to the original Mario Bros, and has an unique three dimensional take on the 1983 arcade classic. Its arcade based gameplay is jarring for those who wanted an actual Mario platformer for this console, but Wario Land more than scratches that itch, and Mario Clash overall is a lot fresher than what another Mario Land title on the Virtual Boy would have been.
Mario's Tennis is a fun little tennis title that shows the depth perception capabilities with the VB hardware, but nothing else interesting about it, but its still fun.
Panic Bomber is a fun and addicting puzzle game, but does not do anything interesting with the Virtual Boy hardware.
Red Alarm is fun title, but its basically a watered-down Star Fox but with wire-frames instead of polygons.
Teleroboxer is basically a lost Punch-Out title.
Virtual Boy overall is pretty cozy imo despite having such a limited library and an ugly palette.
So what badly bombed consoles do you have a softspot for, and why?
The VB is truly underappreciated. Too bad they've gotten expensive as fuck. Sure VB emulation is almost perfect, but it's nothing compared to playing the games on actual hardware.
>>3350283
You underrate Red Alarm. Git gud at strafing and it becomes a lot more fun.
I'm a big Gundam/Super Robot Wars games and I'm planning to eventually get a VB to play this game.
It's a bit hard to come by though. I've already emulated it but I want to see how it feels like using the real thing.
Hello brothers, just looking for some good retro police games. Any recommendations are welcome.

I already got the GBA port of FFVI and I did not notice any problems it had compared to the SNES version of FFVI (aside from some alterations with the soundtrack). It was a good port otherwise, that matched the original graphically (which is impressive for the GBA).
How are the ports of FFV and FFIV? I have heard good things about the the FFV port (with some calling it the definitive version of the game), while I have heard mixed things on FFIV with many calling it the weakest of the ports, while others say it is overall better than the SNES version of FFIV.
So what is /vr/ 's take on them?
I remember a lot of bad things being said, but I also remember some patches being made to fix the problems. If I recall, everyone hates the iOS ports now, since they are ugly as fuck.
So if you patch it, it becomes good. Otherwise I recall hearing the colors were dull or something? Don't know, I always play SNES when I wanna replay.
>>3349808
Like I said, FFVIA seemed like a good port. The only thing that seemed to differ was the soundtrack which was more a fault of the hardware than the porting effort.
Is this a good deal? Should I do it?
>>3349751
I have no idea. Maybe you should ask this yourself instead of making a thread on an anonymous chinese portrait gallery.
Boat 350
It's not for resale, why is he selling it?
Please forgive me for this newfag-tier question, but can someone explain what a flashcart actually is? Is a 32GB SNES flash cart a cartridge with the entire library of games on it, or is it a blank cart with 32GB of storage?
>>3349746
The latter, you have to hack into the darknet to get the games.
>>3349746
Blank cart, but 32GB is far more than you'll need. I can't speak for the SNES but the entire Genesis library fits into about 1GB
>>3349774
snes has about 37gb of super mario world hacks

Was there any consoles that had a service where you could download demos or full games back then?
Sega Channel, which was impressively cutting edge at the time. utilized the internet before many households had even heard of the internet.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sega_Channel
Yeah. Sega channel and uh... Snes' japan-only thing.
>>3348770
There were a few Sega Channel being the most notable. Hell I think even Atari experimented with that concept before too.
>game has no continues
You can do better than this /v/-tier thread, anon.
Don't think any retro game is too obscure for /vr/. If you want to talk about a certain game go ahead and make a thread for it.
>>3348323
>game has infinite continues
>Game has finite number of continues until game over.

Lets hear what /vr/ has picked up recently
Went to Goodwill to check over the CD cases isle and picked up some games

>Mechwarrior 2 Titanium (CD seems to only contain the OST, bummer) 1.99

Anyone know good places in the New England area to buy retro games cheap? Preferably the Mass, RI, and Connecticut area. Sick of eBay prices and retail stores that go off of eBay. I'm no Game Chasers and haven't been out much anywhere yet.
