What's up with that K? Looks like Kjonami.
I have a lot I've gathered recently. Some aren't for video games but have the same bizarre aesthetic and personality.
Hey all, I've been trying for the last few weeks to copy my N64 cart saves to my computer so that I could load them into my everdrive64 (and then proceed to sell my original carts since I won't need them anymore).
I've been trying the method talked about on AssemblerGames where you use a Passport Plus 3 to read the cart data and copy it to a controller pak, then copy that controller pak data to an SD card via the ED64, and then use a hex code editor to cut the game save data out of the controller pak data and insert it into a dummy save file for the game you want.
The problem I'm running into is that my memory cards are not being read correctly. I can copy almost all of my game's save files (save for SRAM games unfortunately) without any issue. I successfully did this already for Mario Party 2. Anymore however, the copies are not working as expected. I can delete all data off the controller pak with an in-game editor, or I can even format it with ED64, but the result still seems to be residual data on the pak, and it seems that the copies are not working as a result. Or alternatively, the data isn't being copied at all now, and it's just stuck with the same garbage data.
Is there anything I can do to fix this matter? The only thing I've thought of in the span of writing this post is to try saving more data to it and then deleting it, or alternatively, making an empty 32kb file (all 0s) and writing it to the controller pak. I'm not above buying a new controller pak if need be.
Why waste your time? Just play vidya again.

I intend to do that with some games. It's just that for games like Mario Tennis for example, I remember the experience of 100%ing it as being great fun but ultimately really time-consuming. I'd rather keep my records/unlockables as is and use my free time to play other games that I haven't already played a lot.
>>3284987
Get a gameshark then, it'll have the same effect.
How the fuck were you supposed to know to jump at the paintings?
Old meme is old.
>>3284873
Not old. Retro.
>>3284880
No, retro is before 1999. This is just old for 4chan standards, /v/ meme from 2007 or so. Get out.
Has anyone else had crashing issues with Might and Magic 4-5? Shit crashes randomly when I go into town or sign in at the inn.

Some kind of status affliction (insane?)
One of my favorite games of all time. Just curious if anyone knew why Vigilate 8? Why the 8?
>>3284116
uhh. Gross, not on that system.
>>3284118
>muh full motion video cutscenes
your the gross one. ps1 version was ugly as hell
>>3284120
I could care less about those. Also google is your friend dumbfuck.
>If people were purchasing Saturn because they felt like they could get 10 years worth of gameplay out of it with sufficient gameplay innovation over that period of time, I would say those people were probably disappointed
What did she mean by this?
>>3284038
sega was cycling through units too quickly
>>3284038
She didnt know you could import saturn games increasing the library 10x times over.
>>3284038
She meant the Saturn failed and Bernie Stolar put pressure on Sega of Japan to discontinue it and push the Dreamcast out faster.
What are your favorite puzzle games of retro times, /vr/?
Myself, I rather enjoy Puyo Pop and Money Idol Exchange.
>>3283929
But, dear anon, I posted the Dreamcast version.
>>3283932
he's being retarded on purpose. Ignore him. Even if you did post the GC release, rereleases are allowed to be discussed here as well.
I'm really digging gyakuten!! puzzle bancho at the moment. Very cool and hotblooded.
I like Castlevania 1 and Ghost n Goblins the best myself.
Is it true? Can the VIC-20 really beat the video games?
>>3283808
Video game means here video game console.
>>3283808
>A real computer
>>3283808
You mean the C64 for the early 80s and the Amiga for the late 80s?

Going to buy ghostbusters pinball, anyone played it?
check out the pinball general, bro.
not retro
>>3283737
Yeah
Ok. So Im not of the opinion that remakes are a good thing. I dislike most of them. (movies, even music covers) People tend to remake things that are already perfect. I'm of the opinion that only flawed, or outdated games should get an overhaul. Not a blotchy (shitty filter) "HD" upgrade. Those are atrocious. I'm talking about outright modernizing the game outright. Pic Related. It's 2 that fall into my category.
>Blood Omen
Great atmosphere. The dreariness of Nosgoth is front and center. From the ominous lighting down to the impeccable voice acting. The Feel of the will be very hard to match. However, the gameplay itself is rather unplayable. I would love to see this get a modern remake. Something A-la Dark Souls.
>Phantasy Star III
Now as far as Ideas go, this game is like a Wonderful suede jacket. Then in application it's like filling the jacket with baby frogs, and smashing it against the wall over and over again. I'm not really into RPG games at this point. But if there ever was a game that needs finishing is this beast right here.
/vr/ What say yee? And any other ideas?
>A-la Dark Souls
C'mon now, that wouldn't fit at all. Blood Omen doesn't need a remake, if anything Defiance needs a sequel.
I just realized I never actually played Legacy of Kain and the only game in the series i did play was Soul Reaver
>>3283514
Blood Omen could have used some balancing and polish, but it's nowhere near unplayable. In fact, exploring is pretty fun and satisfying, and so are the dungeons due to their emphasis on avoiding traps etc. I replayed it a few months ago and thought it was excellent. Not perfect, but very good at what it does. By far the best game in the series.
I don't think Defiance really needs a sequel, either. Especially not now.
Apologize.
>>3283469
I'm sorry you were a wasted slot in the classic franchise
I'm sorry that you're too autistic to deal with a game that tried to defy convention.
>>3283550
It just tried to sell more Nintendo Power.
this game any good?
it's unbearable slow even with speedup
Ambitious but buggy as fuck. If polished, then it would have been an excellent rpg for N64.
>have a collecting sidequest that permeates through the entire game
>by the time it's finished it's used only for the final boss and is obsolete against him
>lock most upgrades behind a shitty minigames one of which requires a lot of grinding
>by the time you do it you can kill everything in one or two hits anyway
Why were the upgrades in this game so poorly handled?
>>3283239
THE RALLY
Don't quote me on this, but I think that none of the original team who made the first Alundra worked on this.
I remember the early boss fights taking forever because they could kill you in a few hits and they had loads of health.
>>3283323
It was probably an unrelated project called "クロックワーク の Bullshit" or something like that at some point and they just slapped the Alundra brand on it in the last stretch before release
