This game is incredibly relaxing to play, but it's fucking horrendously obscure.
It had a 64DD release and then somehow managed to get a GameCube release in PAL Regions. I just imported a copy and can play it region free on my Wii.
>>3267852
So THIS is where that naked giant trophy in Melee came from.
>>3267860
Yeah, most people know it from that trophy, but it's incredibly how few people know it was converted to the GameCube and had an english translation.
I imported the PAL GCN release. Really great, strange game. Plays fine on appropriately hacked Wii/Wii U. It's an obscure game even unto itself; so much of it is so strange and mysterious. I am a big fan. Embodies a lot of the mistiness of early 3D that I like so much. There's a second release on 64DD that seems even odder. Bummer we may never have a decent way to play it.
Did I miss the boat on these? PlayAsia says they haven't been released yet, but Amazon says out of stock and there are already videos of people using them on YouTube. Were those beta versions for reviewers, or are they sold out for now?
Has there been any news on whether they have plans to release similar devices for any other consoles?
>>3267805
You know you can just buy the origina wireless nes controllers right
>shoulder buttons
>xyba
These probably feel fucking awful.
The NES controller design was not built for this.
Just convert a fucking SNES controller.
In honor of today's GOG release of D, let's have a full motion video thread.
Surely not all FMV games were shit, right?
The technique shines with Adventure Games like D, Myst or that one X Files title for the Play Station, and it can be a great gimmick a la Silpheed. I can also enjoy Dragons Lair clones for what they are.
What was that FMV game where you drove a car through buildings and along canyon walls and stuff? That one was awesome.
>>3263634
Sounds like Road Avenger.
THE DRAGON'S TRAP REMAKE
pretty sweet. made by bock the dude behind meka emulator/sms power.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibKf66tVoFw
I am hype
>>3263237
same and i only *kind of* enjoyed the original. this? this looks fucking sweet.
ITT: Post the last time you died in a video game
>>3279636
So are you done bitching about the game now that you've gotten a bit better at it?
>>3279636
I died in the water hallway in Resident Evil 4 with unupgraded guns because I was being a massive money grubbing jew and was being super conservative.
>>3279640
What are you talking about
I'm confused.
>>3279334
>substitute 4 original controllers
>80 dollars
>>3279334
the fuck bullshit site is that
Is the second game worth playing at all? I love the first. Everything about it is so perfect.
2nd is pretty much the same shit rehashed. supposedly more balanced but i thought the first was alot better.
>>3279005
I like the second a little better. Results may vary but if you like the first one it's almost certain you'll like the sequel. They're great games.
>>3279005
The second is significantly easier than SF1 and it has (IMO) a much better soundtrack. I feel SF1 had far better visuals and battle setup though.
So have anyone ever let their nostalgia dictate what games you play?
Like keep playing the same games you grew up with and never playing new games is it a bad thing or what?
I still play new games. Bayonetta is probably one of my top 10 favorite games of all time.
I just seem to like older games more simply because it's the kind of game I'm used to, it's not nostalgia.
I never played Skyblazer as a kid, but I did recently and toroughly enjoyed it even though I have no sentimental connection with it. The same happens to me often, maybe I just enjoy a certain type of game or game design philosophy that I can't just find on newer games bar a few exceptions. But that doesn't mean I play exclusively old games, or that I only play games I know from my childhood (although I admit I do play certain old classics that I love, every now and then)
>>3278909
lmao no.
I play everything and anything i want.I missed out on MSX so right now i go through its library.
>>3278909
I don't stick to the games I grew up with, but anything that came out for the systems I played with as a kid is automatically +5 points in my list. Like, I would always enjoy a mediocre game for a nostalgic system more than a great one for any system I missed.
Is there any way to revert a UPS patch into the original files? I want to check the script for Mother 3's new French translation but they only host the patch.
Apply patch, dump text from ROM?
>>3278801
GBA is retro!
Some guy on my local Fbook sales group has this for sale, does anyone know what the game is? im thinking about offering him $40 for everything...
I'd make him drop the price alot or pass on it, them nintendo's look like they been pee pee'd on
>>3278787
i only want them for the controllers tho, i have both consoles already.
Sweet limited edition gold versions with sawdust. I can't identify that cart though.
What's the best jRPG on the NES?
>>3278660
Metal Max
Dragon Quest 1 - 4
Final Fantasy 1 - 3
Earth Bound/Mother 1
Sweet Home
Donkey Kong 3
These days, it's hard to say. If you don't like grinding and random battles, then there is practically nothing on the NES that will hold your interest (unless you are more interested in action RPGs like Zelda 2, Crystalis, and the like).
I can't really get into any of them on the NES, though the WS/GBA/PSP remakes of FF1 and 2 + the DS remake of FF3 were quite nice.
Maybe Lagrange Point? That just got translated.
Hey, I want to buy a new phone next month (probably the Sony Z5 Compact) and have a few questions about emulator.
1: Does a DS4 controller clip work well and is it a good way to play while in bed or away
2: If I connect the phone to the TV will it be the same resolution or can I change that individually ?
3: Up to which console generation are mobile phones able to emulate well ?
Thank you for your time.
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=sony+z5+compact+emulation
1. Clips are really only necessary if you're playing in a moving vehicle or possibly on the toilet most other places you'll be more comfortable just sitting your phone up. My iMpulse controller has a little hard case that doubles as a stand when you slide it off. If you're playing while laying down you'll find that clips are actually bad as your arms will get tired being held up in front of your face for hours
2. MHL 2.0 goes all the way up to 4k
3. Should do all retro consoles including Dreamcast just fine. Android N64 emulators are kinda shitty. I like N64oid but it's discontinued and doesn't have very good controller support
>>3278762
thank you for your answer :D
God Policenauts sucks! It's so bad. It's like a really bad Visual Novel. And I don't know, seriously, VN are like the easiest thing in the world to design. So when you design a bad one, that is remarkable.
Like the entire story of Policenaughts is not only a pixel hunt, but you basically have to try everything, and then try everything multiple times. So if you don't know this, like if you want to know about some photograph, you ask about the photograph, and she tells you something, and then you have to ask the same topic again. So that photograph entry can occur 3 or 4 times. And then you have to start from the beginning and try them all again because the third time might have opened something new up. And you have to exhaust every single option. ALL OF THEM. Before the game will let you move on. That is HORRIBLE.
No, it's not like an oldschool adventure game. Because in an osa you don't have to look at and inspect everything on the screen multiple times. You're just sitting there, desperately wanting to move on with the plot, and then you're stuck trying to inspect every little thing over and over again, and asking people the same questions over and over again. Ah it's bad. And when it finally gets exciting, it gets exciting for 20 seconds then you're right back at it.
Is the plot interesting? Not really. Yeah, not really. You know what the story is? It is 5% Blade Runner, 95% Lethal Weapon. It is literally Lethal Weapon. It's straight up Riggs and Murtaugh. It's not even subtle. He rips off whole scenes. It's amazing.

nice blog
>>3278262
thanks for bumping another no doubt fascinating thread off this board faggot
Plot-wise it has a really strong start but just goes absolutely nowhere, really dull Kojima standards and it's a shame. I like the gameplay just fine though, it's like Snatcher but more intuitive, less scrolling through lists.

Where I lead our people, you are not worthy to follow!

Avalon was Magneto's best theme. Actually, most of the CoTA soundtrack was great, even if it didn't always make sense.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OKOAWDNCYE
>>3278013
What the hell are you supposed to do about hyper grav? I got Magneto into a corner once and all he did was start spamming that shit. I couldn't super jump around it and blocking obviously doesn't work. I was Colossus and even my "fuck your projectiles!" charge didn't stop it. What do?
So why the fuck isn't there a $10 ali express multi cart for Sega Master system like there is for NES???
I love krikzz and all but I dont want to shell out 100 for another cart.
just get a mega drive and a clone everdrive for that . it will play sms games
>>3277613
Did the clones have multi carts with them like nes? If so that's a good idea. Can't find any on ebay though.
You can literally play every Master System game on the Mega Everdrive/Everdrive MD/clone already, what's the point?
