What's the most you would spend on a retro game and what is the most you actually have spent?
Frep free to make fun of collectorfags in here
$0 and $40~ on sotn like 14 years ago
emulate, retard
>>3277850
$20-30 if it's a must-have "I've wanted to own it since I was a child" game. $5 if it's a random find.
>>3277854
Yea 40 if its for nostalgia
Otherwise 30
What consoles there that can not connect to the Internet in any way?
totally free internet consoles, and all come complete games (without any DLC or pay to win)
there is only local multiplayer (from a single console)
and without internet Peripheral
>>3277791
NES
Game Gear
TG-16
Lynx
Jaguar
Atari 7800
Gameboy
Nintendo 64
Neo Geo
Neo Geo CD
Neo Geo Pocket/Color
Surprising how many systems COULD connect online.
>>3277796
Pretty sure the Game Boy had some kind of modem, I remember reading japanese had a mail service that worked on GB back in the late 90s.
I think N64 also had some kind of online connectivity with the DD? not sure.
Famicom had a modem too.
>>3277796
>Gameboy
you could email people with gameboy.
I think that disqualifies it.
Both of them are pretty based. But which one is more based and why?
This is not a console war thread. This is a thread for thoughtful and mature intellectual discussion.
>>3277648
Not going to get much mature intellectual discussion out of nintoddler casuals
>>3277648
Both are leagues above Sony or Microsoft in terms of first-party videogames.
As a big Sega fan-
Arcade Sega > Arcade Nintendo
Master System < NES
Genesis<SNES
Saturn > N64
DC >Gamecube
What do you guys think of Wii64?
>>3276813
its shite
what do you think about it OP?
>>3276840
Makes me feel like the wii still had so much untapped potential :,(
Are there any J/RPGs with a continuous story?
Rance has an ongoing story since 1989.
>>3276551
Isn't that more of a VN though?
I've heard Trails has a continuous story but its not really /vr/
the Ys series
I recently bought a Game Boy Color with a frontlight mod, but it is blurry. Anyone knows a way to fix it?
>>3276372
Buy an SP.
Not going to buy an SP. I really like the design of Color.
>>3276384
Frontlight is always going to look a little blurry, and you can't backlight it.
Is it worth getting a 32x?
not really no. all the interesting games are expensive as fuck
>>3276252
I can't think of any exclusives, pretty much the entire library has superior versions for cheaper consoles. If you can get it for cheap maybe, the genesis Flashcarts are compatible with it. Mortal Kombat 3 is good on it, if you don't have a 360 or even the most rudimentary pc it is an option.
>>3276262
Luckily a Genesis flashcart works with 32x games.
I'm looking to play more of these early scoring-centric single screen action games for NES/Famicom. Games like:
>Wrecking Crew
>Clu Clu Land
>Ice Climber
>Nuts & Milk
>Binary Land
>Devil World
What are some others? Original games, not ports of actual arcade games.
>>3275609
Wrecking Crew is one of my favorite games in the NES library. You should add Balloon Fight to your list, most of the game is score-centric and takes place on a single screen as well.
Balloon Fight, Urban Champion, Hogans Alley, Kid Icarus maybe?
I know there aren't all that many that fit your description
>>3275629
Hell yeah Balloon Fight. You know people are going to argue Kid Icarus because its not on a single screen, but fuck them. Also Elevator Action.
I'm looking for some cool retro with some arab-style settings, like pic related Shantae and Monster World IV. Suggestions are welcome.
Doki Doki Panic
>>3274310
No lolis in it, but POP is the quintessential Arabian-Nights-type game for me.
The Snes version's extends the minimalistic setting a little with some more crazy characters and locations
>>3274318
Did you know this was Mario 2 in Japan?
There's a PC RPG im pretty sure no one played before, but i can't for shit remember the name
my father bought for me probably at year 2000-2005 (not sure)it was a 3D RPG, there was skills and shit, you could pickpocket, persuade and all standard RPG shit, there were classes too i believe
i remember the start location was something like a city in desert, at the city gates
i remember reading the manual it had a part dedicated to conversations saying you could just leave the conversation pressing the X, but the NPC would thin bad of you (the silence speaks for him)
i just cant remember the fucking name, even looked in RPG lists and no luck
this is making me mad
help me /vr/
>pic unrelated

Fuck off. We're sick of you bumping threads off for your vain begging.
neverwinter nights

What's the best 3rd-party s-video Nintendo chord? Using it for N64, GCN, and eventually SNES when I get around to finding one for a fair price. I'm using it on a tube TV.
pick one faggot
>>3273157
Typically if it doesn't have a yellow composite attached to it you're good. I picked one of the more popular ones on ebay that fit the criteria and it does just fine.
I recently nabbed an official SFC-era cable for a good price and I can't tell a difference besides the unoffiicial cable possibly making more of a buzzing sound. Nothing that justifies paying a lot extra.

This game gave me so much anxiety as a kid, and this music just brought it all back. I love it. I remember it being super atmospheric and dark.
>>3272892
I was afraid of the T-Rex at the beginning as a kid. That movie really scared me, and so too did my cousin's big talking/moving poster for it.
What was your mom-and-dad-are-arguing vidya?
>Super Mario RPG
They argued almost every day and they are still arguing to this day so every game I ever played while I lived with them
>>3268212
>>3268212
All games, my father hated video games and resented my mother for buying them, he also hated computers and mobile phones, basically all the things a kid my age wanted growing up.
