I think I figured something out, but it could just be from lack of sleep. Anyway, given that Alola is the first region to really have different typings on a single species, as well as type different variations, and strong elemental ties to a type in different regions, I think it might be where evolutionary stones are either imported from, or found in the highest quantity. The mountains that our ice shifted vulpix and sandshrew could radiate the same kind of energy that allows eevee to become glaceon, for example. The islands could act as...I want to say fire, thunder, dusk, and either sun or moon stones in certain locations, or to certain pokemon, with water stones being beneath the sea. The guardians may be cause or effect of this too, either charging their islands with their energy so much that it causes the land to take it on and changes what lives on it, or being born because the islands had such abnormal amounts of this energy in the first place. Hell, the Oricorio pokedex entries say they are different because they fed on the sap of trees on the different islands, which supports the game lore idea that the region has some form of super charged effect relating to typing.
Anyway, thoughts for or against? Does it have merit, or am I so dumb that I should have spent my time while doing manual labor at work distracting myself in other ways?

More likely that the developers are taking pages straight from the book of Charles Darwin. Island chains are notable for providing isolated environments where animals can evolve in rapidly diverse ways and Darwin specifically observed the difference in tropical birds depending on thier environment. This is probably why we're getting Gen 1 'mons with new forms too.

Tyranitar has fucking 7 weaknesses (way more than its base form has) and a x4 weakness to Fighting.
Alola Ninetales is probably going to be a physically attacking tank by the way

Alright, so lemme get this straight:
- All Vulpixes found in Alola are the ice type Vulpix, with its own stats and moves
- Vulpixes imported from Pokebank (non-VC RBY) are the gen 6 Vulpix, with its own stats and moves
- Vulpixes imported specifically from VC RBY are another variation, the gen 1 Vulpix, with its own stats and moves?
Is that accurate? Do you think there will be any visual distinction between gen 6 and gen 1 Vulpix? How would its base stats be different?

We don't really know whether the Pokemon ported from the VC games will keep their Gen. 1 stats, though.
It's a possibility, and could potentially make competitive battling crazy dynamic, but we haven't heard anything. For all we know, any and all Vulpix brought over from PokeBank will just be the Gen. 6 ones.

Last pokemon game I played was HeartGold/SoulSilver. I'm going to buy a 3DS and I want a new pokemon game to go along with it. Which one should I buy? I'd like one with pokemon I recognise (gen 1, 2, and 3) but also new pokemon, that makes it possible to do online battles. Also a long story/single player would be nice :) Which one do you recommend?

You are now aware that the reason they are doing these pallete swa- I mean, alolan forms is so they can recycle all the 3d models animations from the old pokemon and pass it off as new content.
It's pretty clear how much the transition to 3D models is harming the franchise. You saw how little new pokemon gen 6 had... it wont end there...

From the starters and the possible evos to the birb dancer and new forms, everything about alola seems excellent so far, and not one pokemon has seemed dissapointing. Its obvious they're showcasing their best designs so far, but I haven't liked so many pokemon like this so quickly before.
The possibility of ending once and for all with HMs and IVs is even better, and the idea we might have the game concept of making our very own league, or at the very least switching up the formula after 20 years sounds enticing as hell too.
Who else is hyped as fuck for the absolute masterpiece that will be gen VII?
