It's really hard to tell. On one hand it's fucking Dragonball and it's effectively the true successor to the mvc series, but on the other hand it's a fighting game, which is a niche genre, but they are making efforts to "casualize" for a broader audience. I think it'll be very well recieved and if Namco puts even a quarter as much of effort as Capcom does with their whole Esports shit than I could see it being very successful actually. Combine good reception among fans and the press with esports shit and it could actually be huge, or bigger than the fgc expect.

Some of the spinoffs like Birth by Sleep actually went back and did a few of the more classic films (like Cinderella), so there's always a chance they'll dip from the Disney Renaissance period again. The tribunal, Dagoth Ur, and Azura were all letdowns when you finally meet them after reading all the esoteric mythic stories about them in the game's books. In the stories they are weird and tragic figures whose actions are larger than life and still reverberate through history thousands of years later. Then you meet them and they have generic video game character dialogue.

It just really plays like dogshit, I'm not gonna bandwagon. Story's good though.

I just started playing on PS4 since it's free. I wish I had started playing sooner, it's great. I used to love Left 4 Dead so it's like it's feeling that void.

I'm trying to find a way to make survivalist work but I just can't. It just feels like a really mediocre class.

I played the first one on pc and this one is really good, i think the maps are kinda small compared to 1 tought, maybe i´m remembering wrong.
Also weapon variety kinda sucks, berserker is the best class for this reason, all sorts of builds you can do.
How does pvp even work? It's impossible to find matches on ps4.

XII was good, but it was the beginning of the decline. Remember, it was the first mainline FF game that took away direct control of your whole party. The gambit system was fun, but it was already a casualized version of full party turn based combat.
