Did 5e actually do away with "Intelligence is for knowing X; Wisdom is for knowing that X is a [good/bad] idea?"
It really seems that way.
Investigation is the skill you use to piece together clues into useful and sensible information, and Investigation is based on Intelligence.
Illusions go up against Intelligence (Investigation), not Wisdom.
Even the Dungeon Master's Guide says:
>INTELLIGENCE CHECK VS. WISDOM CHECK
>If you have trouble deciding whether to call for an Intelligence or a Wisdom check to determine whether a character notices something, think of it in terms of what a very high or low score in those two abilities might mean.
>A character with a high Wisdom but low Intelli ge nce is aware of the surroundings but is bad at interpreting what things mean. The character might spot that one section of a wall is clean and dusty compared to the others, but he or she wouldn't necessarily make the deduction that a secret door is there.

Is this 5e's way of trying to make Intelligence more useful, since Wisdom matters for more saving throws and includes Perception?

What happens to arcane spellcasters in other worlds? Say Elminster ends up without the Weave in somewhere like Krynn where nearly all the magic comes from the gods or in Greyhawk where it juss werks. Say your standard Sorcerer ends up in Athas – are they going to be powerless or automatically become a Defiler?

A game room lets us play and interact with each other face to face.
Playing in a villa? How are we going to play? If we play in a single room then it becomes the Game Room, so we'd have to each sit in a different room to make it a game villa. How would we communicate? Loud yelling? Cans with string? Intercom? Just seems like a waste of a villa.

Right. I've just finished slogging through the first book in the Avatar Series (Forgotten Realms) and I've GOT to ask- do the later books make up for this?
I know Troy Dennings wrote 2 of the later books, and he's good, but holy shit I am going to chew my own dick off just so I have something to distract me if I have to read another novel this bad. Bane could have been outwitted by Skeletor, the heroes were all unlikable cunts, and bland ones at that- nobody had much in the way of personality, I actually cheered when Mystra was killed, and just- just goddamn. I sometimes feel like I don't even know half the character's names just because they're always referred to by a descriptor rather than their actual names!
Scott Ciecen is a garbage writer who should feel ashamed- because I've read fucking anime fanfiction better than this drivel.
So please, tell me, are the later novels worth bothering with, or should I just give up? Because as a fan of the FR and of fantasy in general, I am very disappointed so far.

I'd argue sport is the biggest one you missed - either watching it (everything else is shit, but at least we beat those fuckers) or participating in it as a distraction, or in some cases even a way out of the underclass.
Art might also count, but that's usually a rarer and more individual thing.
If you lump music in with art though (which is fair, it's an art form) then you get a lot more people doing it casually as a respite from their shitty lives.
Gambling also counts, though it's going to be the depressing sort of gambling where no-one involved has any cash to bet with so it gets grim.
Does crime count as rebels?
