“The problem is that I never agreed to deal with you,” Shafir says, pointing at you with the stem of his long pipe.
Where Shafir's once-strong face has become a study in the struggle between skin and time, yours has yet to fully mature, leaving you with a youthful androgyny that you have had plenty of time to get sick of. He smirks at you, the majority of his face immediately vanishing into the chasms of his wrinkled flesh. You frown back, your pale brow barely furrowing.
On your lap, the cat blinks at Shafir with its huge moonlike eyes. Moments before, it had been purring softly as it observed the proceedings, no doubt pleased at your impatience. To call it “your” cat would be inaccurate. Close to the opposite of the truth, in fact.
“I agreed to deal with him,” Shafir says, gesturing towards the cat with the pipestem.
“What is this garbage?” the cat, Escher, scoffs.

“No garbage,” Shafir says, pausing to take at least three lungfuls of smoke off the pipe. “I agreed to deal with you, Escher. I owe you a favor, not this child.”
You can feel your ears redden at the word “child”. You stand up angrily, and Escher has to use his claws to clamber up the thick fur and leather of your clothes to perch on your shoulders, where he flattens his ears.
“I vouch for the...child,” the cat sniffs. “Shouldn't that be good enough?”
“Perhaps if this was just some kid,” Shafir begins.
“I'm standing right here,” you mutter.
“-but this one's got the stink of the waking world all over him. Don't you know, Escher? It's dangerous to throw your lot in with Dreamers. Even more dangerous to do business. Never know when they're going to disappear.” He snaps his fingers, to illustrate your theoretical disappearance, and begins tapping out and refilling his pipe. As he does so, two much younger men enter the forest clearing. Your eyes dart to the scimitars tucked into their waists.
“Dangerous,” Shafir says, grinning to show his tar-stained teeth, “but valuable.”

He's not wrong. As a native of the waking world, being in the Dreamlands has its perks. The clothes you're wearing were never sewn or sold to you. The food you ate this morning was never grown or plucked or pickled. You simply dreamed it into being. Though you are not nearly as powerful as some, being a Dreamer definitely makes you dangerous.
“What do we do now?” You ask Escher, as one of the younger toughs frees his sword.
“Use your imagination,” Escher hisses.

Alright, now that we got some of our local nobility killed, why didn't we:
A. Flank the side of a static formation
B. Enlist some mercenaries
C. Bring literally any kind of freemen auxillary force.
D. Do some fucking target practice and pepper them with ranged fire.
E. Raid smaller steads further out that their patrols cannot respond to quickly enough to rouse a militia.

This scenario raises some questions.

Levy troops aren't usually disciplined enough to stand in the face of a charge. They'll feel the charge coming, deep in their gut, and soil themselves, running in fear because they haven't been trained from birth to fight. Something is stiffening their spines.

Levy troops don't have the discipline or training to maintain ranks and they sure as hell wouldn't all be similarly armed. Someone, an outside factor, is training and arming them.

The answer is simple: find this outside factor. Kill them. When the head dies, the body follows.

I don't even know anymore. As I learn more about philosophy, the more it seems like a bunch of people throwing opinions at each other. Except the opinions are mostly worthless because they contribute to nothing and can never be proven.

There's a familiar red gemstone in the center of it. How did he get that sigil back?

A cool wind blows through the trees, and every sound in the world seems to fall away. If time is moving, it's hard to perceive it.

She shakes off some errant concrete dust that has settled on her sleeve.

I like classes. Makes character creation/advancement a bit easier and gives everyone a role to play.

Favorite class is probably 5e's Barbarian. Although the Glitterboy was fucking radical too.

Running B/X dnd and one of the basic modules. Most of them have the cliches and tropes in them because they weren't those yet.

Alternatively you could run dungeon world or world of dungeons, its pretty much geared for that too. Easy to convert 1st ed modules for.

The different OSR systems are mostly the same with slight variations in different directions like having a neat encumbrance system, or castle building or whatever, but for the most part they're all based in B/X dnd and are designed to be modified/house ruled. The OSR general is a good place to ask too.

Unless it's an ERP game I do not want them to have any form of detail for it at the table. They can take their fade to black.

I've been doing it this way since forever. In fact, both as a player and a DM, talking in first person all the time always seemed awkward and weird to me.

Just have her not be interested? It is vital that you don't make this seem like a challenge. Tell your players to spank off before game night, not during.

Whatever you do, never play this shit out. Fade to black. The player is obsessed with something that you cannot possibly deliver, that's why it's awkward. At best you can model your sock puppet for his arousal, and that's a whole different kind of roleplaying which has other boards dedicated to it. Just don't. Ever. It makes everyone feel bad the next day.

You can use this though. Have her kidnapped, or falling for an obvious bad guy in disguise. Have her hand promised in a crucial political liaison, it just cannot be. But you really have to know that you want your game to be about this.

Rules question. When making a combined melee attack, is there any compulsion to have every contributing model use the same weapons?

For example, say I have 10 Satyxis Raiders ganging up on an enemy Warjack. 5 are within 0.5" and the other five are within 2". Can I have the five closer models give up their Horn attacks to make Combined Melee Attacks for the rear five's Lacerators? And assuming I can, can the front five make normal Lacerator attacks in the same turn, for a total of five normal and five combined Lacerator attacks?

Whats the best way to tie in Auxilia with Legion allies? Use them as ground control with Vox'd Drop Pod support?

How can you simultaneously be so obsessed with the Color Pie, and rip out mechanics that are associated with a certain colour and place them somewhere else on a whim at the same time?

Agree with all of them except the part about the wizard. You're forgetting to factor in spell slots. If you want to define everyone in terms of being a fighter, a wizard is a "Potential fighter" who can, depending on what spells he chooses, opt to specialise in defence, offence, or a mixture of the 2. But then you're forgetting about stuff outside of combat and class features meaning the whole theory isn't really feasible.
