Last time on JAQ... boy it's been a while aint it? Holidays are fun like that, especially when you've got a buncha personal shit going on, but we aren't here to talk about me, let's talk about Zev!
Last time on JAQ Zev dabbled with the fucking dark side and also met a Jedi named Vis, who seems to be real big on meditation and all that jazz.
============================
>>44468103
While Renari spent most of her time yesterday training at the mats with several other apprentices, you instead chose to meditate with a fellow named Vis. He's not all that talkative, instead being the sort of fellow that more enjoys silence and relaxation, but he seems friendly enough, and even helped you out in achieving sort of an inner peace. Meditation still really isn't your strong suit but Vis could probably out meditate even one of the Masters, if that was actually a thing.
"Hey... get up sleepyhead." A voice speaks into your ear, before a sharp jab pokes at your side.
Groaning, you blink several times, trying to focus your eyes only to see Renari staring at you from her place on the bed. "We gotta get up." She says, motioning down to where your arm is curently wrapped around her side, pinning her in place beside you. Instead you simply close your eyes again and snuggle onto the pillow, figuring a few more minutes won't hurt.
"We're gonna miss breakfast Zev!"
Before Renari can even realize what's going on you're already dressed and ready to go, standing at the door and tapping your foot, staring at her. All she gives you in reply is a sigh and gets out of bed as well.
"So, what's the agenda today?"

What is the weirdest RPG you own or what RPG can you not get anyone to play?
Mechanical Dream
>Characters reside in the world of the dual world of Kaïnas and Naakinis, a 30,000 mile disk lit by a sun-like orb called the Pendulum. This disk is surrounded by the Sofe, a 40-mile-tall wall of black ether that kills that few, if any, have ever returned from. Kaïnas (the rational world) and Naakinis (the mythic world) exist with overlapping topography and ecosystems. Flora and fauna of Kainas are scaled normally by real-world standards, while Naakinis exists on a much larger scale (such as the "Kioux" trees that reach many miles in height).
>The Pendulum spends roughly ten of each day's thirty hours beyond the Sofe, creating night-like darkness. During this time, a phenomenon called "The Dream" manifests, becoming stronger as less and less light permeates Kaïnas. The Dream is a fabulous and dangerous world that overlaps with reality. It is initially hazy and hallucinatory, becoming as solid as reality during the darkest parts of the night. Areas where the Pendulum does not shine are affected by permanent manifestations of the Dream.
>The Aran world is a separate existence, accessible only in places the Pendulums' light cannot reach (underground or deep underwater). It is fiercely primordial, rejecting inorganic matter and operating by rules entirely different from reality. The creatures inhabiting Aran are unpredictable and poorly understood.
>The vast majority of the setting's population depends on the weekly consumption of the orpee fruit to survive. Without orpee, a rapid and excruciating death is guaranteed. Orpee naturally concentrates a life-force called "eflow" that fuels life. The politics and economics of Kaïnas are primarily driven by the collection and distribution of orpee, as it is an absolute requirement for life.
One of my weirdest games is Lesser Shades of Evil, a post apocalyptic fantasy RPG where a family called the Kingsways masterminded the destruction of modern human civilization, using amazing technology to create a new world and set themselves up as a set of benign godlike figures, to nurture and aid their new, superior humanity. Unfortuantely, one of the Kingsways went bad, murdered or exiled the others and the world has gone to hell.
There are a lot of PC options, but the default is Angelions, uploaded human minds that are held in a sphere of crystal. If it's ever shattered you die, but otherwise you're immortal. You can puppet bodies that are attuned to you, including controlling multiple at once, and the game in general tends towards mythic politics, intrigue and adventure. The system is also utterly bizarre, with the option to roll d6, d10 or d20 pools. The d6 pools are generally the safe and reliable option, while d20 pools allow the chance to get extremely high results, with the d10 pools sitting as a middle ground between the two.
Noumenon(?)?
>be guardsman
>armor more useless than modern soldiers one
>gun so weak you might as well just throw rocks and it would be an uprgade
>life expectancy of 7 hours
>your commander says you should all human wave the CSM
>get shot
ayy lmao
why would anyone play cannon fodder? Even Orks are better at least ork boy will kill some people before he goes down instead of getting blasted by butthurt comissar.
>armor more useless than modern soldiers one
flak armour can turn a lethal shot into life threatening and protects from flak, a major killer in war. It's just not as good as ancient power armour, alien chitin or space nano-fabrics.
>gun so weak you might as well just throw rocks and it would be an uprgade
but lasguns are pretty good they can take chunks out of concrete, it's just most guardsmen fight aginst super-human monsters, eldrich abominations, terrain changing super predators and undead robots who are all tougher than concrete
>life expectancy of 7 hours
depends on your role and theater
>why would anyone play cannon fodder?
because it's nice to play the underdog, because they're more relate-able than undead robots, because they're a flexible codex, because you like the minis, because you like tanks, because you want to play space 1st cavalry
>>44461266
>>armor more useless than modern soldiers one
Let's not forget that it outright stops tub projectiles, which puts the shitty guardsmen above massive amounts of rebels, cultists and xenos. Especially since they often dont even have flack amour themselves.
Overall, 2.5/10 bait, could have done better

God, there isn't even two days left until 2016. The prospect of being able to chill with my mons and family at White Forest tomorrow is exciting.
It would also be nice if I could actually get some motherfucking sleep because it's like 20 to 3 in the morning. The one night without fireworks and Sylveon's decided to go apeshit on the motorized chew mouse, tossing it around in the bathtub, slamming it into the walls all over the house and being noisy in general. Really doesn't help that my room's next to the upstairs bathroom.

Anon here who posted this

So far I have 10 of the 18 gyms (and by extension their leaders and the surrounding towns) worked out for the most part. I just need town names and such.
However, that isn't what I need help with. I'm needing help naming the villainous group. To clarify, they were (before the world was remade) just a hodgepodge of former groups who were rallied by some rich assholes who wanted the most powerful pokemon imaginable (only for said pokemon to go crazy and blow up most of the world and shit).
What would be a good name for the group?
>>44459446
Zenith, maybe?
/tg/, you're a bounty hunter and have been hired by the Empire to kill a former Jedi Knight, and you know everything about Jedi and the Force that the Empire knows. What weapons do you take to kill this Jedi, how do you find them, and what tactics minimize the amount of skill you would personally need to succeed most of the time?
Joke's on them, I am the Jedi Knight! They've hired me to hunt myself.

Why was D&D 3.5 so bad?
It wasnt, it was the ogl that let people make splat books daily
Why do butthurt folk always make reactionary threads?
If your intention in making a thread or post is to spite someone, you're really doing everyone a disservice, yourself included.
Too many rules, too many tables, too much carried over from previous editions that didn't fit this one, too much new stuff added that was terrible.
I started with 3.5 and after working my way backwards, I kept realizing, "Oh, so THAT'S why that was there!" even though whatever "that" is makes less sense in 3.5 and they should have scrapped it.
Lets talk about this shit site. Roll20 has done a lot of terrible things to the hobby since it came about.
What's your experience with roll20 /tg/?
What is the worst thing that the site has spawned?
What would you change about the site if you recently broke into their office and murdered the Dev team, and now have their computers in front of you?
The worst thing this site has caused is the whole Players looking for GM's and them telling the GM how to run the game.
I'm sorry, but you don't get to tell the GM what to run, how to run it, and anything else relating to the game. The GM is god of the table. Sure the game isn't a game without players, but it's easy to replace players.
Freaking player entitlement.
Its only sin is giving the dregs and That Guys an easy way into games that they'd never get into in person, for their Nurglesque stench would kill the GM.
And their servers only going down while I'm in a game.

Such as?
Assuming a civilized society and a tribal society are in close enough proximity to eachother for trade and the rare few intermarriages, what could motivate the tribal society to remain tribal instead of civilizing as well?Posting dark elves is fine too
>>44443955
Religious and/or cultural restrictions and taboos.
Preserving tradition and thier way of life
The tribals could be nomadic, so picking up civilization would be seen as a waste to them as it would get in the way.
Things like that.
Culture pride, religion, being in an environment that doesn't force them to civilise because there is no real need to.
>>44443955
....Anon, why does "tribal" preclude "civilized"?
This shit is literally what "enthocentric" is used for.
Can a succubus be killed by a 2x4 with a nail in it?
>>44425368
I guess that depends on how physical and alive your demons are, but probably.
Anything can be killed with a little effort, elbow grease, and a Railgun capable of firing scrap at Mach 30.
What?
No.
Definitely not.
Why would you even think about doing something like that?
