>You are a young man named Lloyd from the frozen Northern mountains of Tordo, on the continent of Teege. After a youth spent learning magic, you and your girlfriend spent some time as bandits after your home was destroyed, but have recently taken a chance to escape that life into a legit one... As sellswords, admittedly, but it's better than nothing. When the situation calls for it, however, you might take on the POV of a character somewhere else for a thread.

You, Irene, Asra, Sheena, and Une, after a successful mission in Ennase, warped back to Disler Outpost before taking the rest of the trip back to Elza Oasis the old-fashioned way, just like how they came in the first place.

The trip back is uneventful, for the most part, as is arrival in Elza, Irene thanking Eyven for his time watching the place before seeing him off, some brief, polite catching-up with Calof and Gonzo (they did some short-term stuff for Tomnus and Kneil, wrapped it up a day before the gang got back home).

Things became a bit... Tense for you and Irene upon receiving word from Yulea about Ansi's capture by Queen Eva, and you have no reason to question the lack of any particular conspiracy by Queen Eva.

Apparently, Lyeim is still out on his soul-searching shenanigans. You wonder what he's up to.

You also hope Ansi's alright, writing back to Yulea telling her they all should have been more careful traveling with Clint (he is apparently no longer welcome in Leigh's group).

Little do you know that not only is Ansi fine, he might very well be on his way back West, and that Lyeim's little vacation could very well overlap with this fact.

>A. Be Lyeim
>B. Be Ansi
>C. Continue to be Lloyd. Important events from Lyeim and Ansi's journey will be learned of in-universe anyway.
20 minute decision time.

...wording might not have been clear there. The point being made is that Yulea did not mention Shea's suspicions about Queen Eva in the letter.

Online GMs, how do you like to vet potential candidates for your games?
104 posts and 17 images submitted.
>>
you talk to them, you autist
if you like them and they seem reasonable, you let them in
then you assemble the group
then, some players flake, either because they don't like your DMing style (and you could be genuinely bad, you have to accept this notion) or because times don't work our or due to unrelated reason
then you take on another players, preferrably recommended by your existing 'cool' players
it works. nowadays, my campaigns are sort of closed club, not because we're elitist, but because it's easier to source a new player from a pool of people somebody knows

The New Necrotic Armada strengthens its hold on a new system, Jadyk's Generals creating bunkers and fortresses on alien worlds. The Ahkam converted natives beginning planet-wide preparations and celebrations, bonfires and sacrificial altars blessed and stacked high with food.

Entropic Excavators shatter and consume vast amounts of stone and raw metal ore, the metal ingots left in their wake harvested and shipped out where they were needed in your Armada.

Across several systems Eyegores drift undetected, watching over planets circling strange stars. Ahkam and Osjiic forces grind each other to space dust, the nearly crippled ships of the Osjiic fleeing from the overwhelming numbers of the Ahkam worshipers. The massive pale serpent of an Ahkam disappearing below the cloud cover of the planet the two fleets had fought over, blue blood glimmering in the darkness of the void.

Under an energetic blue star spins a world overgrown by massive foliage. A craft appears on your Eyegores sensors, approaching the planet and finally it catches sight of the ship. A capitol sized ship crafted from intertwining branches curled around massive engines drifts to the planet. The radiation scarred Eyegore could detect no transmissions from the living ship but on the planet a canopy slowly bends away to present a landing platform.

The binary star hosting the factories of the Osjiic receiving new visitors as a small fleet of Osjiic warships appears in a flash of Void energy. They dock with the refueling plants, the fleet consisting of a pair of battlecruisers and a host of sub-capitols. Your dutiful craft intercepts transmissions inquiring to the lost fleet of Sub-Admiral Estkri.

Completed Research:
>Dagger Powersuit: A sophisticated suit of mechanized armor that only Clanship Captain Krotur was honored enough to wear into battle. Underneath the emblems, medals and trophies of long ago victories was a suit that increased the wearers strength and speed greatly. Vacuum-sealed it could operate in the void of space, densely armored against weapons fire, an advanced jump-pack hidden under the ancient cloak and armed with an array of hidden weaponry. Thermal blasters mounted to each wrist, slots for thermal knives and various grenades with a launcher mounted on the shoulder.

>Razor-Wire Trap: A relatively simple but extremely dangerous trap. Spring loaded ribbons of razor-thin wire are coiled and tensed that when triggered whip out at opposing angles. The wires are partially magnetic and when they encounter a solid object curl in on themselves, tightening a net sharp enough to cut through most simple armors. Against flesh and bone the wires slice through like a thermal blade through cheap plastic, maiming easily and potentially proving deadly.

Unlocked:
Studying the Dagger Powersuit gives insight into improving your mechanized units, giving a slight boost to harvesting and combat capabilities.
Your Cauldrons and Think Tanks can now create simple powered exoskeletal supports for living minions.
>Simple Exoskeleton: A suit of armor resembling your standard chitin and bone armor powered and driven by miniature motors and metal musclestrands to give living minions a strength, speed and durability boost. Cost: 7M

Razor-Wire Traps can now be reproduced by the Think Tanks.
>Created Wire Bolas: By mimicking the constricting mechanics of the wires of the traps a solitary Think Tank has created a weapon that launches a bundle of metal and sinew wires. When impacting a target the wires whip out and constrict, tightening to restrict movement while preventing lethal injury. Cost: 4M

Quissonce finishes the last of her retching before wiping her mouth with her sleeve. “Holy shit, kill that fucking thing.”

Finn holds the newborn orc with the stalks still coming out of its head to his chest. “That's a baby.”

Quissonce points from her bent position. “That's a monstrosity.”

Finn looks at her angrily. “Do you think human birth looks neat and clean? Sure, it looks a little mal-formed now, but cats are born blind and deaf and they grow up fine.”

Rowe finally has her bearings again. “Why did you keep bleeding on them though?”

Finn fidgets a bit, bouncing the orc baby to hush its wailing and looks a little reluctant to speak. “Well, as well as nutrients from the soil and regular watering, uh, they need non-Orcish blood from a sapient creature, but that's not –”

“Burn it all down. We need to purge.” Quissonce has finally returned to her standing position.

Gabby chuckles. “The wizard's advocating genocidal infanticide, but I'm the evil one.”

Quissonce looks over to Eve. “C'mon Eve.” She waves her hand. “Time to go all flamey on them.”

“I think its kinda cute.” Eve admits. Quissonce shakes her head. Sounds like she's breathing through her mouth, as if she's afraid of whatever smell the infant orc might be giving off.

The year is 2016 and the United States is dominated by petty-bourgeois ideology. The people chafe under the capitalist yoke, but are too numbed by propaganda to realise that they hold the true power in society. It is a dark time.

But even in darkness, there is light. Adrianna Nagelburg has realised the TRUTH and set out to bring real change to America!

>This thread is loosely based on Liberal Crime Squad, but you don't need to have played that game to participate and have a good time. The basic idea is that you're setting up a radical political cell with the intention of drastically changing the society of parody America.
>In Thread 1 >>44433227, Trotskyism was chosen (with the other candidates being Elite Liberalism, Arch Conservatism, and Stalinism). Some small gains have been made.

It is now the third week of February 2016.

Charlotte stands next to me, smiling happily as she leans against me, resting her head on my shoulder for a second before she yawns and puts her third saber back between her teeth, biting down on it

"Ready to fight again, eli?" She asks, sounding a bit worried "Because I know I am, and if I am, you probably are, right?"

"Yeah" I say nodding as Amanda walks over to my other side, pulling back the bolt on her rifle, pulling the rim of her hat down over her eyes as a pink shimmer covers her almost bare body

"Don't get to excited big sis" She says calmly as she looks over to charlotte "you know what happens when you get excited, you tend to lose limbs and..get hurt, bad"

"Eh, extra lives" Charlotte says with a careless shrug "Besides, I know neither of you would let me get hurt too bad, so why worry?"

Amanda sighs and shakes her head as Belladonna walks over to the other side of Amanda, tuning her violin as her little frilly headdress thing blows in the wind along with her hair.

"I'm almost ready" She says looking up, as a pair of raven black wings bursts out of her back "the dead shall dance to my tune once more"

"Tearing them from their rightful rest?" Amanda asks, lifting the brim of her hat so she can look at her

"Yep" Bel says simply as she plays a quick and violent string on her violin

"Wow that sounds real grim" Delia says cheerfully as she stomps her feet in place, bobbing her head in place to an unheard rhythm as she presses down on her trumpets "Can't you try and make it a bit more..I don't know, not so sad sounding? like, starting the party again?"

"...Well I guess they seem to enjoy themselves with it" Amanda says shrugging

"Oh that's an understatement" Charlotte chuckles "They have more fun than I do, despite being just a bunch of bags of bones"

"It's annoying" Bel sighs, shaking her head

"Well I think it's pretty nice to see them having fun" Delia says shrugging, oh, that'll keep bel quite for a bit...well quieter than usual "even though I see it so often, it never gets old ya know"

Jaime cracks her gauntlets knuckles with a spit of steam flying out of them as she looks around at all the laughing faces covering the screens, and shakes her head as she pushes her hat up a bit

"You know, I'd complain about this eating up all my free time" She says leaning back a bit, as her coat blows in the wind "But I'm getting off work for this, so actually I kind of have to thank you, or I would, if you didn't take my smokes away..so yeah, going to beat your screen in, for not just that, but for ruining these girls' day"

"ARE YOU DONE!?" Alveski Screams, the screens filling with static "Honestly did you need to take ten minutes just lining up and talking with eachother, I was ready to fight a queen dammed hour ago, and you've just been doing that, WHhhhhhy"

"Eli was doing it, I don't know?" Charlotte says shrugging "And if you're so impatient, just attack already, come on, COME ON"

"GLADLY, YOU'RE ALL ALMOST BEATEN ANYWAYS, I JUST NEED TO FINISH THE JOB!" the monster screams, raising his hand into the air, a whirring blade of solid light spinning around it "DATA CUTTER"

Because they are niche as fuck, and it takes a lot of skill and resources to produce moulds.
Some stuff is better then others though- GW troops are okay, but never buy their characters, and the newer stuff is getting more and more expensive. Warmachine and Infinity are just as pricey, per model. Reaper, Wargames Factory and Perry Miniatures are all very reasonable.

Recap:

Previously you found out that your boss had lost a massive bet on the underground mech battling circuit. Seeing him faced with the prospect of having his balls cut off by an angry Russian, you decided to cheer him up with booze and cocaine. He then accompanied you on your final assignment for him: clearing out a snake infestation from a Noah’s Ark themed amusement park beneath the Tsing Ma Bridge. On arrival you found that the “snakes” were actually overgrown centipedes and were nearly ensnared by large sessile creatues living in the trashfilled pools outside the Ark itself.

Inside the Ark you discovered abandoned creationist exhibits that seemed to contain operational surveillance equipment as well as more centipedes, this time outfitted with electronic devices that seemed to control their movements. They chased you into the second floor food court, where you fortified your position and prepared a trap while attempting to decide whether to escape or delve deeper into this obviously still inhabited theme park.

The trap succeeded beautifully but set the ark alight. Instead of escaping, you chose to descend deeper into the secret facilities beneath the theme park and try to find the mastermind behind the rigged ‘pedes.

Currently, you are standing in a fabrication room that has filled with gas.

You search for the cause of the gas leaking into the room but you can only conclude that it seems to be coming from, well, everywhere. There are small vents placed seemingly everywhere in this room, perhaps to ensure circulation of and harmful fumes the fabrication process may produce.

If that’s the case, maybe you can find a way to get them to clear the room of the gas instead of recirculating it over and over? Or maybe even channel it elsewhere…

There are seven “mouse” drones in the corner, switched off at the moment. You know you can control them with the illegal but they are extremely primitive, with no onboard cameras. They can only follow pre-existing routes to the “command center”, “hatchery”, and “waste disposal”. You’re not sure how useful that is.

Last, you have access to the manufacturing panel for the fabricators set up around you. They seem designed to create electronics, hardly “universal” as you might have hoped but not surprising for a dedicated facility like this. You could always try and build something to help yourself using the pre-programmed blueprints.

>try and use the illegal to access vent controls
>modify the drones somehow
>activate a drone and give it directions with the illegal
>access manufacturing panel, try and make something

He aggressively denied any Tolkien influence on DnD despite it being based around the classic Tolkien races (to the point where halflings were originally called hobbits until the tolkien institute sued him over it) and the whole party goes into dungeons to fight monsters and find treasure is liften from both the Hobbit and LotR.

Sure, it's just as much Moorcock and Howard, but denying any influence is just being pretentious.

Gygax was the James Cameron of roleplaying games.
So yes, he was a sperg.

Continuing the theme of the last thread : What is the most egregious misinterpretation of the rules you've seen a fellow player try to get away with?

This is semi-relevant. I have a question on how I should go about interpreting a Monk's Unarmored Defense with respect to a Druid's Natural Armor it gets when transformed into certain creatures. Does Natural Armor prevent them from adding their Wisdom modifier to their AC?

Not necessarily a misinterpretation of the rules, but one of the players I play with died and then threw a fit after he realized he had an ability that could have saved his life, arguing that "His character would know that he could meld into stone, so he should be allowed to retcon that and survive" The DM was staunch and resolute saying, if you forgot your character panicked and forgot and died.

The player ended up getting so mad he stormed off, only to come back and sitting the rest of the session saying that he had the initiative tracker.

General consensus has been that they do not stack. I don't believe there has been an official ruling from sage advice.

Most beasts have "Natural Armor," so if you REALLY wanna be pedantic, natural armor trumps unarmored.

Why are Ultramarines better than other space marines? Is it superior genetics? Is it superior training or culture? Perhaps it is a combination of the two or some insubstantial quality of the soul.

You spelled "world eaters" wrong faggot.

Why does Japan consider full-blooded "demons" normal enough to be main characters (which would be PCs in tabletop), while full-blooded demons are almost always NPC-only in Western tabletop?

Wow son it's almost like something has different cultural connotations in two different cultures. Amazing!

Kill yourself.

Probably because Japanese demons tend to be basically just humans with pointy ears or purple skin maybe, but western demons tend to be more like horrible monsters, as a generalization.
>>
Because they have an entirely separate history of mythology.
