Alright, well, I'll give it a shot.

First, if you're giving shit Fragile, and your own stuff that works off of it, then change it so that you don't get screwed by it. That's a pretty awful property the majority of the time, and it'll screw you a lot more than it's good. Allow them to count as fragile when it's beneficial to you, but otherwise not suffer penalties from it, for your own weapons.

The Splinters of Neglect ability is just... why? Why? That's a waste of an action the vast majority of the time, on a class that's heavy on Swifts which your immediate uses up, AND it requires you to give your allies a negative property to use it. And the CL-dependant thing off the magic items is sorta... meh. It should be something like CL+initiator level or something, at minimum. Sundering is an awful, awful thing to do 9/10 times because it destroys loot and fucks you over.

Decay Body is fucking trash. I'm sorry, but that is literally trash. 1 point of ability damage per FOUR bonus damage dice, at level fucking 17? First off, how many things are immune to ability damage at that point? A LOT. Second, how many things have high enough scores to laugh at that? A LOT. Third, even if they WERE low attributes, that's STILL an awful trade. Jesus christ.

So I just started admech and I'm considering getting some of those infiltrator guys. Only thing is I want to use the gasmask heads on then instead of the weird dome ones.

I figure it'll be obvious enough since they'll have guns and powerswords, but do think anybody would notice or bitch about it? I mean, it ain't like I'm putting terminator heads on marines or anything

I can only tell what makes a sword desirable, it's simple:
> +X to hit rolls
> damage
> additional positive effects
> lore, a legend behind it
> additional non-positive effects made up for shits and giggles
a sword of yodelling which will always attract enemies while you're trying to sneak past them is definitely worth keeping if it has good stats and it may be worth keeping even otherwise because well, it's still more interesting than a longsword +1

It's appropriate for the setting, time period and opponents fought.

why are you talking shit about dual-wielding shields

i made a brawler once that used that shit, literally untouchable turtle in combat and also had custom shields that had a heavy and spiked part at the top that gave me some sweet damage bonuses of raw strength

also i was able to enchant the shields with a teammate for even more bonuses and some sweet crowd control for bashing them together, as well as being able to put them together in front of me and steamroll through the enemy forces with the strength of a freight train

it's all in the execution

I had a 3.5e Elven Ninja that used a barbed chain whip to fight with. I liked the idea of being able to trip, etc. My rolls were terrible and he never was used again. Exotic Weapon my ass...

So here's the new model from last thread. I like it a lot; I have a theoretical "super operator/HALO marine" build that I think about, and that torso is perfect for it. I don't know how Raven Guard-y it is, but it's certainly a nice piece. It reminds me of the Titan Princeps model.

tactical squads have both rhinos. Going for the head of the Gorgon Rite of war. Would this be playable with its 1500 pts? At least fun to play? And what should I expand with to increase to 1850-2500?

Doesn't look bad. I run a Las/Exec predator with my Iron Warriors; I'd highly recommend giving it a machine spirit so you're not wasting the plasma on tanks and vice versa. I will say that that Phobos is a lot of points in one basket. Against other Heresy armies that are under a similar low-points constraint you'll probably be fine, but against 40k armies that Phobos is going to get focus fired like crazy.

If you mean the game that has my favorite execution of theme, then War of the Ring, no question. It captures the grand scope of the conflict described in the books, with many aspects being surprisingly accurate. Like how the races of the Free Peoples are so reluctant to join the war, and how the elves are powerful but ultimately can't contribute much due to a lack of manpower.
