Imagine you had a player who wanted to play a character like pic related. If there's a corrupt noble and he outnumbers the PCs ten to one, if he's an almighty lich, whatever - if he's being a bad guy, bad guys get punched and that's all there is to it. No strategising (though he wouldn't necessarily interfere with others doing so), no equivocation: just straight in, head-on attacking the villains and protecting his party no matter what.
Would this be annoying to you? Would you let them die in vain? Would you give them plot armour? Would you go out of your way to kill them?

I have the enemies attack.
The dice will fall where they may. I always give my players the information they need/ask for and if they misuse it, they only have themselves blame for it.
I don't pull any punches.
Hey /tg/, friends and I are considering starting up a Shadowrun game. At the moment who shall DM is up in the air but it'll probably be me. Anywho, does anyone have any advice for DMing, characters or just the system in general?

Shadowrun is a convoluted system, so make sure you read and understood the rules before going in.
You might want to dedicate the first session to play the quick-start with pre-gen characters, just to let everyone have a taste for the system.
Afterwards, start slow with only the core rulebook and only add to it at a later point.

It seemed alright, at least the main mechanic seemed fine. I can see what you mean with the priority and skills and such. I was making a test character (May play if not DM) and I wanted to make a sneakthief kinda guy, not too good with combat, but always knows a guy, has a plan, or can macguyver his way out of situations. Any must have skills for that? I went full skillmonkey but yeah, help is apprectiated.

What's a system that can fin only a few sheets or paper with character sheets I could fit on index cards? I'm sure I could even use a stopwatch function for a d10 subsitute. I want something I could keep in my purse and just break out to do with friends without preparation. Like for a long boring car ride, to give an example.

So, I have a game in mind to run and I'd like to air this idea here on /tg/ since I'll probably recruit my players here. Now, be warned before you continue to read this post; It is an idea with heavy sexual themes, or to put in simple and inacurrate words, a 'fetish game'. You can hide the thread or ignore it as you feel like it.
Now if you decided to read on, here's the idea:
I want a game with high lethality and difficult combat were the consequences for being defeated are severe ranging from losing all gear, to being raped or killed. Enemies will often be sexual charged monsters with the goal of either devouring or forcing themselves on the players. One could say something along the lines of 'Dark souls + Corruption of Champions' but that would not convey the idea properly since CoC is a game more about transformation and furries then properly sexual horror. Yet, it's the best example I can think of along the lines of 'monster rape' game.
Now, until this point things are not too weird, but i'm running in a few problems in designing this game/campaign. For one, I don't want players to lose on purpose just to enjoy a sex scene. They are to work as a sort of 'consolation prize' in the sense that even if the players are defeated, they'll still have something 'fun' happening to them (only people who believe this to be fun should join, after all). But i'm afraid players would 'surrender' or throw the fight a bit often in such a setting.
So, for starters, my two questions are:
How to discourage surrender or make sure players will indeed fight and plan their best not to end up prey to the monsters of the world?
Would you play such a game(provided you are interested in the themes above)? What would you expect of it?

WoW is casual garbage. In UO's prime it was the people who broke character who were the weirdos. It was a golden age. This was closely followed by the golden age of mmo griefing which I personally didn't mind since the world was so brutal and unpredictable.

I love the setting and I've realized that I hate the game. The problem is that I have made a lot of great friends over the past 5 years that I've been playing.
In that time I've seen people that have left the game too. In every case, they no longer hang out with us in any form. It's almost like 40k was the glue that bound them to us.
How do I drop the game without fading away from my 40k friends?

Do modeling instead maybe. Offer to paint your freinds minis. This way you'll still be important to their gaming, everyone likes well painted models, without playing the game.
Alternatively either GM or fond a GM for a 40k rpg. This one will take some scheming. You'll have to get the most charasmatic person on board or spring the suggestion when everyone is just bored enough to try something new.

In the book Legion, they see the two possible future scenarios if they become traitor or no traitor. 1) If they stay loyal, the galaxy will slowly burn. 2) If they become traitor, Horus wins swiftly and everything dies quickly and the galaxy will start over.

So my regular group has decided to give vampire a go, I've never played it before so I thought I'd turn to you lovely lot so I don't make a fool out of myself. The setting is 14th century Romania and I've decided to go for Tremere because blood magic sounds fucking cool.Is there anything specifically I should be aware of? Anything to watch out for?
