Sup /tg/, one of my players has recently been bitten by a vampire and the party is going to cure him, I have stuck in a plot device that lets him treat the symptoms for X amount of weeks and I need some interesting ingredients for the party to obtain to make the potion. The more strange, wonderful and bloody awkward to obtain the better.

I've often thought that, if properly handled, the introduction of modern technology into a fantasy setting could be rather fun to play through and as a destabilising influence, it's not something that can easily be solved by simply stabbing it in the face.
Has anyone here successfully incorporated more modern technology into a fantasy campaign?
What are some fictional settings that manage to mix modern technology and fantasy well?
Hell's gate is an obvious example, except there are no traditional fantasy races.

Can i get two players to take sides or will i have to play against myself? first come first served basis.
Roll d100 for your luck when you pick a side for the first engagement and then decide on one of the following actions:
Advance - task force advances forward trying to minimise casualties and gain ground.
Assault - task force charges forward trying to break enemy resistance and inflict greater casualties. If possible, they will attempt to engage them in melee.
Skirmish - task force engages enemy in ranged combat without trying to push them. Can be used with melee-oriented troops too, but there's a greater chance of skirmish turning into a proper engagement.
Maneouvre - task force will try to flank or surround enemies.
Defend - task force will take up positions to defend their location.
Retreat - task force will attempt to orderly leave the battlefield.
Deep Strike - task force will rapidly deploy in hostile territory while trying to maintain their organisation, can be combined with other actions. Usable for boarding actions and planetfalls.
Surgical Strike - task force will attempt to perform one specific objective such as assassination, sabotage, destruction or capture of designated target.
Infiltrate - task force will attempt to penetrate enemy lines without fighting them and then emerge behind their backs. Size of the task force is an important factor for this tactical action.
Shatter - task force will advance in tight formation, using their superior firepower to break the enemy. Used by the Astartes Legions, benefits from numbers.

Some years ago a friend of mine DMed a semi serious campaign in which all the city guards were always black. The reason of this was because according to his words since they are black if we commit a crime no matter how far or fast we run they will be always able to catch us. At first we all thought that it was pretty funny but now...I'm starting to consider it racist. What do y'all think about it?

/tg/ tell me about how your stats IRL have affected your day-to-day life? Also assume that this isn't AD&D stats where commoners are all 10's.
For me I made the mistake of dumping Charisma in favor of Wisdom. So now when I tell people what they should do in their best interest, they don't believe me even though I turn out to be right. Also makes getting a gf really hard.
should have put more into int too; calculus level math is making my life hell.
I put points into constitution recently and have stopped getting sick. I went from monthly cold's to nothing in 9 months.

No problems if everyone is cool with it. I often times use cards from different languages, especially for old school pokemon. Most tourneyfags will find the idea abhorrent though, but they aren't in it for fun anyways so why play with them.
