Hi /tg/ after i played the VN i think Song of Saya scenario would work well for Eldritch Horror Game as a low risk-high consequence Rumor Mythos.
I think the premise of the rumor would be slaying Saya who spawned in Tokyo before certain condition met like omens track or other stuff and she will accompanied by Fuminori who is basically a maniac statwise
any inputs are welcome
Make sure to include loli rape to give it that authentic feel.
>>44728023
basically it is investigators vs Saya and Fuminori so i don't think its a good idea
Do you think whats the good stats for both them in the board? probably saya will end up as epic monster

I feel the setting loses its appeal without the ability to fuck prepubescent girls.

You are Brianna la Croix, evidently the world's least expected love guru (/why/?), and you've finally got some time to yourself to just sit and think.
Like most times you have a spare few hours to sit and think, your mind wanders back to your past.

Oh my gosh that pic of good, cheers gentlemankong!

You were nine when you ran away from home. Your Grandpa told you later that it was a natural thing, that every kid tries to run away from home sometimes, but at the time you kinda felt like an asshole.
When you were gone, you'd made your first dead friend.
Not your first friend period - you had /friends/, and if you only had a /few/ friends, that was okay, because they were /good/ friends. But that afternoon you and Grandmother had a fight, and you said something hurtful, and she said something hurtful back, and next thing you remember you were sneaking out of your room, packing a canoe with food and hunting supplies, and preparing to Make It On Your Own.
You'd learned well from your Grandpa, but the Blind Marsh has no pity whatsoever, and you were only nine. It still took nearly four hours for you to go from 'I can do this' to 'maybe this was a bad plan' to 'sweet Gods, I'm going to die'.
The ghost girl, who had seemed so much older than you at the time - maybe fifteen when she'd died, with a curious look in her eyes and ugly bruises around her neck - came when you were sobbing in your boat, after you'd realized you were lost and alone and didn't know how to get back home.
"Hey," the ghost murmured. "I'm Nicole. Are you lost?"
"Yes," you'd told her, and she'd put a hand on your shoulder and smiled.
"Let's get you home."

God damn auto correct
What /tg/ related novels are actually good?
>>44725677
Define "/tg/ related". Technically, all fiction is.
If you're talking about tie-in novels? None.
there were some Ravenloft novels I liked.
Scholar of Decay
I Strahd
Vampire of the Mists
of course, they're just cheap genre fiction but I enjoyed them well enough

If you mean books that read like a fun campaign, most Jim Butcher, Brandon Sanderson, Simon R. Green, Peter Brent, Peter Grant, Terry Pratchett, Fred Saberhagen, Fritz Lieber, Kevin Hearne, Glen Cook, or F. Paul Wilson.
Those are all good authors. Personally I recommend you start with Glen Cook's Garrett, P.I. series.
So I'm in the process of setting up for my first ever GMing experience, using the Alternity system. small session with two players, I'm hoping for buddy cop antics.
To start I'm doing a soft re-write of the premade adventures to fit with SC2 content, cherry picking elements to be removed for being too damn stupid (looking at you phoenix force kerrigan)
what is your advice for a soon to be first time GM?
also open to lore and rule discussion as those provide good inspiration or at least entertainment
That packet right there was both my very first PnP RPG experience, and GM experience, both happening in the same session.
My most memorable RPG session to date. Good luck, anon.
>>44726170
so its a good system to start with? good to hear
I've not done the Starcraft book, but Alternity in general is a good system. I found the quickstart material fun and easy to read, and my group enjoyed the Dark*Matter oneshot we did. The way armor works can be tricky, so remember to read over those rules.

To answer the question from the *one* reply (>>44714555) that thread got:

Combo decks that require rares aside, almost everything is viable.

>Also, are some of the cards in that banlist there for their price like FoW, Bazhaar and Library or because they broke the format?
Near as I can tell, they were banned because their price was against the spirit of the format.

In my attempts to visualize a perfect race for my many fantasy scenarios and what not, I made up this detailed genetic dispersal number set, to sort of congeal certain phenotypical traits ultimately compiling into the female population of this race. Unfortunately, with the rules I've established, I have no idea how many 'subjects' will be at the end of the equation.
How do I quantify this ending population?

Explain what you're doing from square one.
In this thread we talk about some of the absolute worst players we've played with, and hopefully stories of them getting rekt.

>Beta friend brings his gf
>tumblr. made. manifest.
>The dyed hair, problem glasses, overweight, the works
>The entire game she tries to overthrow le patriarchy, going into unnecessary detail about how her armor isn't sexy and that she's enlightened because she went to a sophisticated mage school to know more about the world and see through the lies
>The DM is visibly rustled but he's keeping his cool
>Eventually we arrive at an Elven kingdom, where the Queen is giving us the quest's deets on behalf of the King who is negotiating with another Kingdom
>tumblrtard actually tries to tell the Elven queen, surrounded by wealth and servants beyond count, that she is oppressed, and that she should stage a palace coup-de-grace against the king to have it become a matriarchy.
>roll for charisma
>1.
>The DM looks her in the eyes and gives her a gigantic, shit-eating 'you're fucked now' grin worthy of Jetstream Fucking Sam.
>The Elven Queen proceeds to say that she's never heard anything so incredibly, moronically incorrect in all of her years, and that such thoughts could only come from a mind broken beyond repair
>For the saftey of her kingdom and kingdoms everywhere, the Queen declares her legally insane and to be institutionalized in the asylum immediately
>She then tells the rest of the party that attempting to disobey the royal order will be treated as an act of war and she'll turn the army against them if they attempt to interfere
>Nobody objects
>The Queen gives the party the quest and the party hires a mage to compensate for losing tumblrtard
>She sits there sulking for the rest of game night
That wasn't the last time she was at game night either.

Never heard of it, but why no crop?
Care to explain where you found it, what the tone is, and how it spins the lore?
Honestly, start with Chambers. The King in Yellow is a short collection, and you have to know the origin.
If you are looking for a quality modern Carcosa, check out Impossible Landscapes when it drops in August (we hope!)
I assume you've seen True Detective s1? It's very low key, but it uses some symbolism and references.

It's a very small island.
Phi is right. You need to calm down. You need to Stay Professional. As you half sit, half fall into a nearby chair, you breathe.
In.
Out.
In.
Out.
Professionalism is what will keep you alive in this war.
In.
Out.
As a soldier, you always need to keep your mind clear, focused on the task at hand. You have to be aware when your comrades are not. It is your responsibility to be vigilant for threats against your comrade's lives.
In.
Out.
Your brothers rely on you for guidance, for good decision making, for proper tactics that defeat the enemy and allow them to return back to base alive. You are an officer of the Grand Army of the Republic, a leader among men, born to win this war no matter the cost.
Not at the cost of the lives of your brothers. Needless, unwarranted, manipulated death is not something that you will ever allow for your brothers. You will always be there to protect your comrades, provide support for their assaults, relay intelligence important to the battle at hand.
Your duty, the reason you were bred into this world, is to keep your brothers alive. Bandit was right about that if nothing else. The men under your command are your responsibility.
The men of 6th platoon are not under your command.
You have a command, but with no men in it.
Most of the men in 6th platoon are rookies, fresh from Kamino.
Like you, only a couple days ago.
You will protect them.
You will be the one who leads them into battle, not a line of rebellious scum who will cower behind the armor of your comrades, filth who will only rush in after troopers have lost their lives for their war.
You know who you need to talk to.
You are already moving, running, rain splattering against your armor, mud sticking to your boots.
You do not care. You have men to protect. You have a duty to fulfill.
Vision blurs, time warps, you are outside, then inside, in light, then in darkness.
> [Cont.]
>>44723945
You are shaking, fists are curled, clingy hot words are burning your tongue.
You unleash them, your general stand before you, you hold no mercy.
You will show no emotion.
What meaning do the lives of your brothers have?
Are you nothing but expendable lives to be thrown into the meatgrider, treated as nothing more than walking weapons to propel into enemy fire?
Are you nothing but slaves for the war of others?
Are you nothing but beings bred to bleed, to suffer, to scream and to die for intangible ideas?
Are you nothing but a murderer for ordering your men, your brothers, human being created from the same seed, should you not be condemned for directing them to their deaths?
Are you nothing but a cog in the machine that is war?
What are you, general, you beg, you plead, you stand stoic, you wait, you demand, you scream for the answer.
Everything is silent, and always has been.
You are standing in a familiar room in front of familiar people-
-Him, the man with the blue had, the cape, the scar on his cheek?-
It does not matter. You glare at your commander, your general, the Jedi leading you into battle, the one you fought alongside, the one you saved from utter defeat.
He is looking at you now, concern plaguing his expression. People are trying to talk to you, ask you something.
You do not hear them. You entire world is captured in the general's eyes.
Here is your superior. He has proven himself a warrior, as all Jedi are.
He was happy that you survived. He did not like that your comrades died.
Soldiers die in war. That is their duty. To fight and perhaps die.
You protest. 6th Platoon. pointless, death.
Your thoughts are muddled, slow, but peace slowly flows through your body.
Compassion and concern for comrades is good. Too much compassion can result in their deaths. Temperance, tranquility, reason.
To be a commander is to understand that sometimes, men will die because of your decisions.
> [Cont.]
>>44723978
To be a commander is to understand that you are the decider of what those men's deaths will mean.
Will it result in victory, or defeat?
Always strive for victory, but never be afraid to stand strong in defeat.
The war is larger than one man, one clone, though every life is important, there is a galaxy of lives to protect.
To be a commander is to understand that you must always survive to lead your men, so that you may protect them, guide them.
To be a commander is to understand that you must always Stay.
Professional.
Stay.
Professional.
Staystaystaystaystaystaystaystaystaystaystay
Professional.
Your world will end once you are no longer a professional.
Your world will end once you are no longer-
Your world twists.
You see Kenobi's eyes, blinking.
You blink back.
You are standing in the command center. The table between you and General Kenobi is projecting a holomap of the entire front. You see a familiar list of cities, the same cities you saw in the datapad captured from the Nationalists. There are the Republic and Loyalist lines. Dotted around the map are a series of Forts. Many are labelled to be occupied by "Pirates." Are there more than just the Separatist scum that are preying on the Republic citizens of Jabiim?
"Hey, Lieutenant?" You look over to see Bandit standing beside you. Next to him is Jackpot and Phi, all three of them staring intently at you. You survey the room around you now, moving your eyes from right to left.
Next to Phi and Jackpot stands Commander Cody, then the General. Then there is a human wearing an old fashioned officer's hat, colored black and navy blue, wearing a crisply pressed navy blue uniform that is adorned with dozens of medals. Over his shoulders rests a black combat poncho, and he is staring at you with blue eyes sparkling in amused confusion. To the left of the soldier stands Xtreme.
> [Cont.]
"Lieutenant," Kenobi garners your attention. "Thank you for arriving, I have a new mission for your forces to move out on in 3 days time."
You stand at attention, mentally kicking yourself for standing so sloppily before your general. You are needed to perform a mission for the Republic. You must be attentive.
"Yes, General." You say. Nothing else comes to mind. Why should it? You only need to listen to the briefing for your mission.
"All right, there is a regiment of Loyalists forces moving through the city of Termat, here." The holomap focuses in on the city. It rest near a large river that opens up into the ocean. The map scrolls up stream to the nearby location of "Fort Dawaq."
"Here is where an enclave of mercenaries and pirates have taken control." Kenobi continues. "We have intel that the pirates are working with the Separatists to blockade supplies from reaching the city. The fort has 6 anti air cannons and an unidentified amount of anti personnel emplacements, as well as a commanding view of the city. If the deal goes through and the pirates allow the Separatists to occupy this fort, then it will result in the bombardment of the Termat." Kenobi motions to the man in the blue uniform. "This here is General Nar Tarik, leader of the Loyalist forces in that sector. He is who you will be working closely with during your operation, Lieutenant."
You will be fighting alongside the allies of the Republic? Sounds good.
General Tarik speaks, his tone both grave and gravelly. "If Fort Dawaq falls to the Separatists, then the entirety of the northern flank will be cut off from the rest of our forces."

I've been blacksmithing as a hobby for a few years, and I have finally decided to try and do it full time. I got started because I like dwarves and I think they're cool, so I have come now to ask for a bit of help. I've been scouring through any resource I can on dwarves from all fantasy series trying to find some inspiration for a logo. So far, I've come across nothing I like and want to emulate, so I've come to ask you, /tg/.
Can you help me come up with a logo that is simple yet conveys the services of a blacksmith? I'll need it to both represent me and be a touchmark, so it has to be simple. The only thing I've come up with so far is a poorly drawn (from lack of artistic talent) anvil on a white field. Asked for opinions on it and was told it was pretty bad. Any thoughts?
This was the anvil, but like I say it's pretty bad.
>>44723425
Not too shabby. Shorten the bit in the middle and ir will look better as an insignia.
>>44723425
How about a simple hammer with a lettet above/below?
It lacks appeal.
It's not symmetrical to give people comfort, the bottom angles aren't mirrored so the image inherently feels imbalanced.
The white core also makes it so feel that it's light and gives no impression of an anvil.
It's a bad logo because it doesn't have a clear message.
Watch this guy think and work.
