This is a blue board which means that it's for everybody (Safe For Work content only). If you see any adult content, please report it.

I read a few D&D green texts and it made me laugh hard. I wanted to see how pen and paper turned into these awesome stories. I have friends I started playing a Pathfinder campaign with and now I'm barely in and I'm laughing. Can we get more of yours?

I'll start with my Cudgil.

He isn't smart, but he's a demon on the battlefield.

They have small birds in the MM. Ravens, rats, scorpions, spiders, they all have creature entries in the MM. Any DM who wouldn't let you kill them for the ability is blatantly against RAW. Heck, for rats and ravens, you don't even need the MM. They have stat blocks in the PHB that indicate they are creatures. There is absolutely no reason why you can't kill a caged rat to activate the ability.

It's not OP, it's RAW, and it's flavorful. What more could a DM want?

Hi all. I'm posting to let people watching know that we have sent out another wave of emails to people about the commissions from Chris' GoFundMe. If the previous waves of emails got lost or trapped in the spam folder, then hopefully these ones will reach the people who still haven't been contacted.

If you donated to the GoFundMe for a commission, please check the inbox and spam folder of the email you used for that.

We really are sorry for the communication issues that this process has been having, and hope to get this show on the road once we have people responding to work with us on the commissions.

And overall, I cannot thank you enough for the money that went to help Chris.

Posting again since the thread rolled over, to let people watching know that we have sent out another wave of emails to people about the commissions from Chris' GoFundMe. If the previous waves of emails got lost or trapped in the spam folder, then hopefully these ones will reach the people who still haven't been contacted.

And overall, I cannot thank you enough for the money that went to help Chris.

So I've been thinking about this for a long time as a little experiment. It may turn into a several thread thing, or it may just be a one off; either way hopefully people will like it. The twist on this civ is that your race starts off with a few set values ingrained in their culture/society/way of thinking. I'll post these in the next post.

You are the Derthas. You have stalked these tunnels for many years, but barely a generation or two ago something miraculous happened. A spark. A spark of sentience suddenly swelled within many of you, as though you were being moulded for some unknown purpose. An elder spider, the matriarch, soon discovered the deep wells of psionic power within her mind, and with this power, she reached out to other nearby Derthas and began to deal with them, bargaining for their allegiance with knowledge and territory. The spiders keep in telepathic contact with one another, but almost never meet besides mating. With just about a dozen spiders at her command, she prepares for whatever fate has in store for this small 'nest'.

Population:
1 Elder Spider
12 Adult Spiders

Building materials:
None

Environment:
A deep, dark web of tunnels

You may:

>Explore (Seeking prey, materials, other sentients, knowledge, etc)

>Reproduce (Create hatchlings, chances of losing the adult male due to spider post mating cannibalism)

>Construct (Repair discovered buildings or construct new ones [requires materials])

>Experiment (Work on your psionic capabilities, technology or other such things)

The values of your people are as follows: Your people approve of learning and knowledge, value instinct, or being reactive. They see bargaining or compromise as a highly intelligent solution to a problem, if applicable. Self-defense and taking your own initiative is applauded, though you should make sure to plan for the future. Hatchlings are left to work stuff out for themselves, but if they prove capable of surviving and entrepaneuring, then they become a valued member of society. Derthas loathe stupidity, hesitation, being non-negotiable or just plain old being weak. They do not value the physical form, believing instead that if one should die, they will simply return again in a superior body. These things are what they base their morality upon.

You may also suggest options. Don't roll unless I call for one, when that happens I'll take best of three (though a 100 or a 1 will overrule others). I also forgot to give some biological details, considering we're going with spiders.

Your people are very strong, tough, and very intelligent, though other races may find you abhorrent. You are stealthy and expect climbers (only need a check to climb in extreme circumstances), you are very fast in short bursts, and can also burrow if you need to, forging new passageways and tunnels. You have a nasty bite that can deliver a strong paralytic venom through the saliva. You can see perfectly in the dark, but are dazzled a bit in strong light.

It’s the only thing you’ve seen of the overworld since you created your character. Sylvetica—or this idealized simulation thereof—is a sight to behold, a verdant green meadow free from the oppressive heat and pressure of the underground.

Dorian is tending the garden, and it looks like there’s a couple of machines set up on tables beneath a new open-air shed nearby. There’s also a few small groups, or individual players, just enjoying the place, chatting with one another, lying in the grass, or browsing the message boards.

You make your way past into the woods, until you find the base of the greatest tree you can – then, you begin climbing. You never quite got the hang of climbing trees in real life, but your increased strength and reduced weight in this world make the task trivial, even burdened by your weapons and armor. As you ascend, careful repeated searches of hand and footholds give way to powerful upward leaps and bounds.

This virtual world has been almost disturbingly realistic—but as you reach the treetop, this illusion begins to break down for the first time. The wind is unusually still, and in clear sunlight, you are unsure for a moment if you’re hot or cold. In the distance, you see the very edge, the air above wavering and rippling as if from the heat of a blacksmith’s forge. Beyond the cliff, an abyss, the sight of which fills you with unease. You feel, for a moment, as if you are missing something. What could it be?

Have you or your players ever had to deal with a war criminal in your games? A character who seems personable and approachable at first, but you later learn has done some morally questionable or really outright evil things in the past?

How did you deal with this person?

I had my players wrestling with the very same question in my Shadowrun 4th edition campaign.

They were introduced to a recurring NPC. A Seralathwen Navarrall, an elven noblewoman Tir Tiarngire whom they were contracted to smuggle into Seattle. She claimed to be the innocent victim of the Star Chamber's purges, and the Runners were well compensated for aiding her.

They ended up working with her on a few occasions where she proved to be tough and capable, and clearly had a military background. Then, on the eve of a big run, one of the recurring villains from our campaign contacted our Hacker out of the blue. He had some information they might be interested to learn.

It was Sera's personnel file. Lt. Seralathwen Navarral wasn't just any soldier. She was Tir Ghost. During the Tir's invasion of California, she was put in charge of a special unit engaged in "counter-insurgency operations." At first, they were just raiding rebel strongholds, but as the war turned against the Tir, her unit's tactics became ever more brutal. Eventually they started sweeping through towns and killing everyone of military age, leaving only children and old people behind.

When the PCs confronted her, she explained that she was a UGE baby. One of the first. Her experiences growing up in a world where meta-humans were unwelcome intruders fostered a deep-seated nationalism. No matter how heinous her crimes, they were in the name of the greater good. So that children born into the Tir would never have to endure the persecution and resentment she had.

In the end, the PCs decided to give her the chance to seek redemption.

Quick /tg/, I need 100 ideas for themed dungeon rooms. It's fine if they're vague, as long as they give some general idea of what the room will be like.

Here's a few examples:
1. Trial of Swamp
2. Haunted Library
3. Tainted Reliquary
4. Undead Grove
5. Tomb of the Myconids

I literally just pulled those few out of my ass, but I'm sure /tg/ can come up with more interesting concepts. If you want, feel free to explain what the room could contain.
