I'm personally a fan of Dead/Gone (Pure bounce in red? Whaaat?) and Fury Charm and Jhoira's Timebug and Clockspinning (colored interaction with the exile zone? You fucking what m8?)
I also like Glittering Wish and Spawnsire of Ulamog, which interact not with the game itself but the actual players property. That's nutty to me.

Rolled 11 (1d100)

Nobody is sure how the end came, but they are sure as hell know of what came after it.

This is the post apocalypse, a world where your greatest dreams haunt you and your wildest nightmares will come true.

A world of men and mutants, of Artificial Intelligence and terrible monsters, of good and bad with everything in between, of previous sciences and greed taken to now old and but still perverse heights. Here the dead walk, the living fight, and the gods laugh all the harder.

Now however its a new beginning and here you will lead a civilization. To greatness or ignominy, whether good or evil, for glory or shame that is entirely up to you.

New players are welcomed and even encouraged, old players are appreciated and have our condolences.

Civ Special Abilities Below. Every Civ gets to enjoy one as well as a hero unit. Hybrid Civs at start enjoy having two but at the cost of lower average between them.

>Megacorp are able to treat resources as a material in terms of efficiency.

>Survivors get a bonus to salvaging and survival actions.

>Tribals get bonuses to scouting and Guerrilla warfare.

>Think Tank start with a Tech specialty and gain a special unit because of this.

>Paramilitary are automatically trained must still spend resources though just not an action.

>Government Civ may mimic another civs special or have another possibly even create their own with GM permission.

>Mutants get access to 1 free mutation(make one up) plus a base mutation that ALL mutants have. Base mutation grants great toughness to survive in environments where ordinary humanity would find impossible. Enhanced strength easily allowing you to overpower a ordinary human and mild bonus to agility. Unfortunately they suffer from a severe rep penalty(humies fucking HATE you, bandits don't like you and other mutants are wary) and severe breeding issue.

>bandits have the special ability to auto upgrade their forces thanks to their life style(other factions have to spend resources AND a action to do so bandits just do resources) however they are unable to make their own supply(must raid or something) and suffer a reputation penalty. *WARNING* white knight choices will be vetoed you are EVIL, but that doesn't mean you can't be smart/clever about it not to mention varying levels of it *WARNING*.

>robots cannot produce without resources as they do not breed. Suffer rep penalty but do not suffer the weaknesses of the flesh.

>Zealots morale cannot be broken.

>Cultists have access to specific secret knowledge

What, like the GM has the players tied up sitting around the table, forcing them to play?

>"But you did things to me last time my character died."
>"And it'll be worse if you don't roll, now roll to see if rocks fall"

What, like that?

Don't. Just... Don't. Its insulting to schizophrenics, it wont come off like you are imagining.

I love pressing ones limits in roleplay, but I've seen this attempted and it will inevitable piss off the group.

Ln as lawful neutral means acting to your code of ethics, but your actions are for your own (in this case your god)

I'm staring a 5e games soon where the players are going to be Lvl 0 slaves with only racial traits at the start of the game. I'm doing this as a way to help party cohesion as my players like to play a variety of alignments and viewpoints. I feel being brothers and sisters in chains is a good way to make the characters have some attachment to each other. The characters won't be gladiatorial slaves. They will be more like day laborers, at least at the start, they might be transferred depending on behavior. I highly doubt that it will be more than two sessions before they try to escape. Have you ever tried a Lvl 0 game? Have you ever had your players play slaves in a game, if so how did the game go?

>doing this as a way to help party cohesion
You may have already talked about starting this way with them, but have you considered having the party make characters as a group?
Most recently I made a few that were distinctive but connected as a GM, then told the players to choose from the pile.

Though it had mixed results at first reception, optimism is high, and the group can definitely work together if they play their characters right while still having those fun points of disagreement. This as well as other points of experience have led me to believe the group all designing characters together is a MUST, not a maybe.

You are Palla Seiard, and you are currently trying to survive a dragon attack.

You quickly manage to dodge out of the way of the black dragon's breath and quickly compose yourself, looking at the beast in front of you with a sharp glare.

Considering how you defeated a dragon before, that was a sheer stroke of luck, but now? Now you weren't so sure how you were going to pull this off.

Your disciples, however, are trying to distract the winged lizard by making noises and attacking it from behind.

Shit.

What do you do?

I don't know if this is the right place to discuss this. I haven't seen any threads on it while lurking.

I started my collection last week. Got the core set and "taking the black" plus "on the road to winterfell".
Any advice for deckbuilding or any good videos to watch people playing and learn myself?

OCTGN is a good place to play online, and is simply a nice resource for deckbuilding.

Team Covenant might be a good place to find articles/videos.

The board game general might offer a more stable platform for discussing the game. Dunno if enough of /tg/ plays to keep a thread alive.

I watched a few of the Team covenant videos but they talk really fast and just gloss over the cards and there's a few Tournament games posted.
I'll try board game general though as well. This is sliding pretty quickly

I want to start a game probably DnD 4e or 5e since that's what most of us regularly play.
But after everyone's got their characters made I'll have everyone reach into a bag of one use powers.
Things that can have a drastic influence on the game but can only be used once.
Like may bring one living creature back to life, may change the weather in your immediate area for up to one day, may force one sentient being either npc or pc to change their mind about one thing.
So what do you guys think does this sound fun or am i asking for a fuck ton of trouble. Also taking suggestions for more powers.

I think that idea is neato burrito.
>>
>>46507778
That sounds pretty fun. You could even have these be tangible objects like gems or something that contain the magic and have them get more through quests and stuff throughout the campaign.

Yeah man i can dig it, I've been brainstorming ideas for more powers for a while now.
I'm hesitant to involve my friends in on it because having these powers be a secret the players can keep from each other i think would add another level intrigue and group dynamics to the game.
>Your best friends character nobly dies saving the rest of the party, everyone is emotionally crushed.
>You have the power to bring him back to life but no one knows that you do.
>You go against your better judgement and let your friends beloved character drift off into the afterlife.
>You can only use this power once and you need to be sure you're saving it for the perfect moment, and pray to what ever deity will listen that your group doesn't turn on you when they learn you could have saved a former member.

>Thread died out, apparently!

Waking up in the morning, you groaned. There were many, many things you liked waking up to in the morning, and today had none of them.

No coffee.

No booze.

No hot women.

No good news.

Instead, you had a prepubescent girl sleeping in a ball on your chest, a searing backache, numb hands, and the dull feeling in your mouth that told you you desperately needed fluids.

“Joan…” you muttered, scrabling around on your nightstand for a Nalgene. “Joan, get up…”

“Non.” The sleeping girl replied.

“Joan. Get up.” You said, trying to unscrew the canteen one-handed. “I need a drink.”

“Non.”

Drinking very carefully, you lifted her off your chest and sit her on the bed. Sitting up, you grumbled quietly as you looked for your pants. After acquiring said pants, you stretched out, trying to work the kinks out. Halfway through this, you felt a small pair of arms around your back, pulling you down to the bed.

“Non.”

You had to roll your eyes now, walking out of your bedroom. Joan flopped behind you, muttering at you. “Non. Non. Non. Non. Non.” It was quite the skill to ignore her. Going to the galley, you looked at the duty cook and blinked.

“Sorry sir, no coffee yet.”

“Sorry sir, no coffee yet.”

Goddamnit. Looks like breakfast was going to be…. Green beans and a chunk of… fish? You were fairly sure that was fish. Going to the table, you ate it, groaning. On today’s to-do list, there were a LOT of things. Firstus was finding where you were so you could start looking around for either a major shipping lane to loot ships from or a fairly small island or atoll to dump people on. Secondus was talking to Captain Jasper and Carmine about things, along with setting up the beginnings of a machinery shop on the Carolina for tools and weapons. Thirds was Joan. Fourth was getting the crew of the Arroschere rotated so there were some Apprentice sailors and warriors onboard, and senior crew on the Carolina to teach them things. Oh joy.

Hi /tg/I need help since I have never done it before. I want to run a 1e adventure in 2e but I am unsure how to convert to THAC0. Do I just take the HD of the monsters since they are not given a strength/dex value? is there another way to do it?
Thank you

>>
>>46507556
Yes, use the HD of monsters and compare it to the THAC0 of an equivalent-level fighter.
>>
>>46507653
Fighter and monsters seem to have a different THAC0 table. Also, does that means that an HD 1 monster has a THAC0 of 20? so monsters are inferior to PCs? (just making sure here)
>>
>>46507734
First-level PCs have THAC0 20.
