Would a Jumping Spider be a good familiar?
>>47909440
It would be OP as fuck.
>>47909475
How so?
>>47910157
Look at that fancy mother fucker.
The stat boosts to diplomacy would ridiculous.
What's the best way of unloading a bulk of magic cards? I want to clear up some room and doubt lgs will accept a bunch of janky rares.
Craigslist worked for me.
I unloaded a huge stack of quarter rares on there in bulk and got like $100 for cards that would never sell alone.
>>47908854
How long did it take for a response?
>>47908905
Within a day, though that depends on your location.
I live in a college town so there's usually a couple of potential buyers.
Why Marauders don't use spears? Why Warriors bother with axes when they can afford a fucking sword?
>>47908809
They use spears...as ranged weapons.
For the most part I think it's those other weapons put distance between you and the enemy. And a Chaos-infused warrior should look at his enemy dead in the eyes as the life fades from them. Or something corny like that.
>>47908809
>Why Marauders don't use spears?
They're not weaklings.
>Why Warriors bother with axes when they can afford a fucking sword?
They take what they get.
>>47908848
Spears mean being weak are you retarded? Name one pre gunpowder era military that didn't use spears.
I've played in a lot of games with a lot of groups. The overwhelming majority of them were not good at all. As a result, I've grown so weary of tabletop games that I don't trust GMs to do anything decent even with the most basic of plot points. Everything feels extremely boring and predictable no matter what any given GM throws at me. I think it's not even their fault anymore, there's probably something wrong with me.
What should I do, /tg/? Is the hobby over for me?
>>47908550
it sounds like you don't like tabletop games
>>47908550
Stop playing D&D.
>>47908550
Have you tried donning the GM mantle yourself?
>>47907872
Please no.
Stop.
What is your mental damage.
This is not /co/.
>>47907890
>What is your mental damage.
>This is not /co/.
This desu
Which of FFG's "Living Card Games" has the best core set? Which has the best metagame?
(I really love Android: Netrunner, but I know that Faust is doing a number on the tournament-level meta right now. After having fun and doing crazy things with A:NR's core set, I was pretty disappointed when I got the GoT core set and saw what was available out of the box).
>>47907608
I enjoyed Call of Cthulhu's core for a while.
To be honest the best Living Card Game out of the box I have played isn't even an FFG product, it is Mage Wars. That base box set will keep you going for a long while.
>>47909510
I have that too, actually. And my friends at the FLGS seem to prefer it to ANR.
>>47907608
This is an interesting topic! There's a lot of the IPs used that I like, but I've no idea which one to go for...
So I really want to get back into this. What would be a good starter deck or package or whatever to get me started?
>>47907373
Nobody knows anything about yu gi oh here, so i recommend you to go to your LGS
>>47907373
>So I really want to get back into this
no you dont the game is worse than ever
>>47907581
>A magic player
I had never never been on prerelease event - is EMN a good one for start? I mean, previous prereleases had some nice shit like Tamiyo's Journal deck box, Dragon-related packs instead of one booster, or promopacks based on mana color etc.
Is EMN kit going to be like 6 boosters + double faced token and that's all?
Prerelease events are MEGA worth it.
Go to one and you'll have a ball.
>>47907321
If you wanted fancy special stuff, you've unfortunately missed it - people complained about it to the point that they're not doing any of it any more, so yeah it's just packs and the token and die
>>47907321
I believe you also get a special foil/rare or foil mythic rare.
What's this guy's CR? Who wins vs tarrasque?
Lets talk about MTG CRs and powerlevels in a PnP game.I don't think personally I'd actually have fun playing an mtg setting, but I'm still curious.
>>47907229
Definitely 20+ for 3.pf
Tarrasque loses.
Fucking think about it.
>>47907272
It's just going to be an endless battle. Tarrasque cannot be killed, ever. Except for wishing it dead and burying it's heart and brain across 2 seperate sides of a continent.
Whereas this guy cannot die either.
The continent where they fight I would just avoid by a HUUUGE margin.
>Demigod falls in love with a female mortal and kidnapped her. Her husband is asking for help.
And
>Demigoddess falls in love with a male mortal and kidnapped him. His wife is asking for help.
Would you respond differently or not?
Nope, would respond the same.
>>47906875
No, not really. I'd try to get it on with the bereaved husband/wife either way.
>>47906875
I'd respond almost all the same. Acting all serious for first one and cracking childish jokes for second option.
So, recently my GM nas asked me and my group to build new characters after we ended the last campaign in a TPK that also took an entire kingdom. So i decided to make my new character a former torture technician from said destroyed kingdom that had a change of heart and became a cleric after said destruction. The problem is: my character is really, really weak. I say it's on purpose, since this guy was never meant to be a cleric. But my friend said i should at least choose some better feats so he could at least survive and be useful to the party, even though i said i'm not going to chance. Am i being a "That Guy" by refusing to change my character to be more "useful"?
Yeah man. Remember, it's a group activity. Surely you're not so stupid that you can't think of a way to make a more interesting character while making them a bit useful.
Depends on the group mentality. If the rest of the group is powergaming to some extent and you've got a purposefully weak cleric, everyone will be annoyed. Maybe ask others players what they think of the idea, and be open to them saying they'd prefer if you didn't.
Hmm. Maybe, if he was a maniac sadist surgeon instead of torturer, you could fluff more powerful stuff for him
What are some cool ways that people who were completely devoted to a lawful neutral Goddess of deceit, poison, order, and nobility (basically god of nobles fighting over station) might worship them? I'm talking some more extreme stuff like pic related.
Good question, Perhaps some sort of ritual of ingesting a questionably survivable amount of poison to prove one's "Divine" right to hold their station.
Kidnap and potentially sacrifice a rival's most cherished person (aside from themselves) To show your superiority.
Sacrificing something important of your rival(s)
Getting rid of any potential weakness that could be used against you. Conspirators of a past plot, Mistress down in the Tavern, your bastard child. The witness you bribed to not report your crime.
about all I can think of and yes I know some of it all tends to lean a bit (or heavily) towards the Evil spectrum.
>>47906917
Yeah those would all definitely work, but godamn are they evil. I really like the "destroying a weakness that could be used against you." God that's good. What about becoming eunuchs after having children so that your sexual its can't be used against you?
>>47907356
That could work... never thought about it lol
And yes all of them are fairly close to evil, but it is a god about fighting over ones station, an inherently selfish act.
This my playmat. I feel like I need a new one. Maybe with CIA?
Also, what kind of dice do you guys get? I was thinking about getting the Chessex Pound-o-Dice. I use a lot of counters with my current standard deck and I feel like it wouldn't hurt.
And what sleeves do you use? I have dragon shield mattes, but I get sweaty hands and the sleeves get sticky really fast.
>I have dragon shield mattes, but I get sweaty hands and the sleeves get sticky really fast.
Have you tried washing your hands before you play? Is it just really hot and humid where you live? I can't even imagine being so sweaty during a game that it would end up on my hands and cards, and I get sweaty fairly easily.
I disapprove of your choice in mat.
Not because of any political allegiances or motivations, but because you have traded memes for a sense of humor and now are less of a man because of it.
I feel sorry for you, but I extend no pity towards you.
>>47906747
It gets really hot and humid where I live. I don't also know if its a nervousness thing.
I take a medication that makes me very thirsty, and I drink a lot of water. Literally more than a gallon a day. So, I don't know if that amount of liquid is causing me to sweat more. I do wash my hands and use hand sanitizer, but they get sweaty in the middle of a match.
So I'm starting a D&D 5e campaign soon. I will be playing as a halfling bard, who instead of singing will be cooking to boost morale and stuff like that.
I am however pretty new to the whole D&D universe and could use some help with comming up with good recipes to use!
>>47906263
There's no single D&D universe. However if the GM isn't using a premade setting, then the generic western fantasy tropes are your friend, that's what he most likely is going to default to. Then again none of the setting material I can think of focuses on food, so just copy LoTR for your recipes and you'll do just fine.
>>47906263
If you can hang around this thread until 2pm EST, I have a pdf with a table you may find useful.
>>47906263
Make up your own recipes. It'll be great. You'll add to the campaign world. Make sure to add little tidbits. Stuff like "I learned this one from some gnomes who lived by the beach" or "This recipe was taught to me by the one halfling who was named an honorary dwarf".
All of them, gone. Yes, I know I'm an idiot for not having them backed up somewhere.
Yes, I know the collection probably wasn't that great by most standards, only a couple of gigabytes.
But god fucking damn it. I built that collection with a lot of searching, trawling through almost forgotten links to find some truly obscure shit.
I even paid for some of it.
>>47906184
Are you looking to replace it anon?
>>47906286
I can barely remember what kind of stupidly obscure games I had at this point. Honestly, this thread is kinda pointless, it's just me bitching.
Sorry, but I hold no love for frogposters.
