Are multivitamins a meme?
No. They could be too much of a good thing though.
>>8625446
I heard that they have bad health effects
>>8625419
Yes
Redpill me on this constant, /sci/, because it seems to gain more and more popularity.
Why is it important?
>>8625390
well for one, of all thew uncountable number of irrational numbers, its one of the few that are in a countable subset (which almost none are.)
>>8625403
what
the rationality of gamma is still not known
Since it's impossible to gain as high precision with regards to values as it is to scientific fact, does this mean that morality and ethics aren't real to you guys?
>>8625373

morality and ethics are social constructs

ITT post stories of how you got into science at a young age
>>8624860
>me, Dominican immigrant at age 5
>immediately enrolled in kindergarten with no knowledge of English
>Bullied for basically being considered a retard for not being able to speak English
>Only solace was found in making and flying RC Airplanes and helicopters with dad
>Dad started talking to me about how planes were able to "defy gravity"
>Eventually learned how to read, first book was about astronomy
Stupid, cheesy story. But ever since then I haven't been able to stop loving science.
>>8624860
I love animals and my parents bought me these collections of animal photo card things that had a bunch of info on each like taxonomy and geographical information on them. I would spend so much time organizing them in a bunch of different ways and noticing similarities and differences between different species. Did this at a very young age and I'm pretty sure it caused my disillusion with the idea of human exceptionalism I see running so rampant everywhere.

What is a set?
Collection of things? What is a collection? How do you define a thing without using set or collection?
>>8623414
defining things that fundamental lead people to resort to a "meta-language", so in the language of set theory, when describing a set, you refer to a "meta-language" to point to what a set looks like at least notation wise
>>8623414
It's a container that contains contenents.
The "contain" property is the basis of all the theory.
You also have to prove a set exist, (containing existing object doesn't guarantee the existance of the container) using some arbirary rules known as ZFC.
>>8623435
isn't the list of rules also a set?

Why is 390 ppm out of order?
I personally thing somewhere between 800-1000 ppm co2 would be least harmful and most beneficial.
How hard is it to go into calculus 2 after 3 years of no math, and memory issues?
>took Cal I three years ago, passed with an A grade
>18 months ago, hit with horrible dizzy spells
>diagnosed with benign brain tumor
>had tumor removed last year, memory is now messed up since the fucker resulted in my amygdala and hippocampus also being removed; the main memory bits
I'm worried. Since the surgery, I've had to re-train my brain with things like memorization, concentration, focus, etc.
How much new material is in cal 2, how much is from cal 1?
A-and is it true cal 2 is the hardest of the calculus courses? I loved cal 1.
>>8623042
first off:
you iddiot talk to the accessibility department at your school, tell them your problem, and they'll be able to accomodate you by getting you the shit you need (And don't be a faggot)
secdonbly, calc 2 is retarded. there's some continuation from calc 1, but for some reason they give a half-assed introduction to sequences and convergence. there's little segway with that.
thankfully, calculus in university is not proof-based. you can literally learn how the theorems work and do fine in your courses.
>>8623058
I have no plans to be a faggot
I feel a bit strange going to accessibility though since I assume they'll think post-brain surgery effects isn't a big issue. I mean, most people I see at accessibility are blind/deaf, or wheelchair bound. I think they'll brush me off, think I'm making an excuse for not being able remember shit
>half-assed introduction to sequences and convergence
Does this just depend on the school, or is calc 2 just that retarded everywhere?
If I try hard to just learn theorems on my own as you said though, I have hope
Thanks for the goog advice anon
>>8623042
It's easy as fuck, and like anon mentioned there are no proofs so you can just solve all your "cool" problems using the techniques that your "prof" uses and then hope they don't make you wander around too much on the exam.

What is mathematically the most important number?
I believe it's the Golden Ratio because it appears almost everywhere in nature. For example, the ratio of your height and the distance from your belly button to the ground is exactly the Golden Ratio.
