After that step it gets easier right? Many physicist told me that.
Also, does anyone have that chart with deep sea meme and the deeper you go, the more complex the math is?
>>8720170
As far as math goes calculus is the easiest. If your foundation in algebra and trig is strong then calculus is a piece of cake. Every math after engineering math gets harder and more abstract
>>8720170
people who struggle with calculus are actually struggling with algebra.
calculus is literally one new concept wrapped up in fancy algebra and trig.
>>8720174
Of course the mathematics that comes after calculus are harder, but I feel like calculus is the biggest step you will take in academia. Therefore, it is the hardest to learn.

How do I grow a passion for math that equals my passion for history?
Should I just give up get a GED and go to college for that shit?

Is there a link I am missing?
Is it possible to evolve into a higher dimension?
Or are we forever stuck in the 3rd dimension?
>>8719361
It's only possible to evolve into lower dimensions
For example, Lagrange evolved into a painting, which is 2D. One day all pictures of Lagrange will be eroded, and he will exist only as a story in a textbook, which is measured in 1 dimension of language.
When Lagrange fades forever into obscurity, only the dimensionless quantity known as "the net entropy of Lagrange" will exist.
>>8719361

this isn't a dumb math question kid, this is the real world. There is no dimensions here.

Male, 20 y.o.
Had a very stressful day, slept 5 hours and hungry.
Decided to measure my BP out of curiosity.
It is around 140/89, which may me nuts.
Walk around, drink a cup of water.
It is 137/85.
Walk around, drink a cup of water.
It is 131/84.
Walk around, drink a cup of water.
It is 126/84.
How does that even work?
I've measured it properly, sitting upright in a chair with cuff on the same level as my heart.
It's as if it decreases with water intake.
Medics?

>>8719283
It's probably just decreasing as you relax. Try before and after fapping as well.
>>8719301
Well, I was walking inbetween, that's the thing, which made me wonder. That's the point.
On the first and highest measurement, I've had a longer resting time.
Between the next ones I was walking around the room and drinking water. Less resting time.
Despite lower resting time, BP dropped.
How do I get smart?
I want to make robots, but I feel Im stupid. Im refreshing myself with mathematics, trying to teach myself physics, but I am terrified that Im daft.
What types of pills and foods can I eat to encourage mental development? What are mental exercises that can strengthen my neurons or whatever?
Seriously, tell me. Give me your pills, you chemicals, your diets, your exercise routines, everything. I must get smart or Im going to throw myself off a fucking bridge.
Thanks.
>>8719270
Bump I want to be rich by making a robot that will do housework.
>>8719270
Making robots doesnt require that much knowledge of math, and only a rudimentary understanding of physics. Its more about knowing whatever programming software you decide to go with and knowing how servo motors and encoders work. Its not hard.
if you want to make robots then study robotics, just learn the maths/physics you require to study that subject as you come to need it
Why is America the only country that thinks Climate Change isn't real?

Why even their sport coaches are obese (topkek) ?

>>8719045
>Have I fallen for a meme degree?
yeah. you should have just done ME and taken some aerodynamics electives.
aerospace is like every other niche engineering field. limited number of companies, sensitive to market fluctuations, highly competitive, etc.
if its something that really interests you, you are going to need a masters anyways so its not even worth it to potentially hamstring yourself until you get past undergrad. you better have a really good fuckin' reason to be doing anything other than ChemE, EE, ME, or CivE for your bachelors.
Thread for Aristotelian physics
Today's topic: continuum and resistance.
>Aristotle argues against the indivisibles of Democritus (which differ considerably from the historical and the modern use of the term "atom"). As a place without anything existing at or within it, Aristotle argued against the possibility of a vacuum or void. Because he believed that the speed of an object's motion is proportional to the force being applied (or, in the case of natural motion, the object's weight) and inversely proportional to the viscosity of the medium, he reasoned that objects moving in a void would move indefinitely fast – and thus any and all objects surrounding the void would immediately fill it. The void, therefore, could never form.
>>8718785
>or, in the case of natural motion, the object's weight
the object's weight is a force
You are in good company friend. People thought everythng aristotle said was correct for almost 2000 years, these dead souls will surely provide you with the discourse you desire.
>>8718811
Maybe he was right? What quantity has a moving object related to one that is still? Velocity and motion yes, but what really is are those?
So I'm sitting in my college cafeteria and my plastic spoon just melted when I placed it in some hot food. Is this shit hazardous because it melted into the food? How fucked am I?
Would I be able to sue my college about this?
Would not eat that, would definitely let someone know. Carcinogens dont make a good lunch
>>8718679
I already finished my lunch. But here is an updated pic of the spoon.

>plastic spoon
Nigger not to be elitist prick or anything but your standard of living is worse of a house dog and that said I wouldn't touch that with a ten foot pole.
If you want you can order high performance plastic spoons they use in MRIs the American ones are especially good meaning stiff, resistant and inert.
>>8715952
For a couple reasons. First, there's no point learning the material without getting a degree to prove you learned the material. The only people who care enough to learn it in the first place are already attending college. People generally don't even like learning, even when they have paid for the damn course.
So here you have what the general populace view as free, time-wasting, useless torture.
Honestly I agree with the time-wasting part. If you are passionate about this shit to learn on your own, just make it your career already. Otherwise, just do something fun. Learning science isn't going to make you some enlightened genius, and I'm so sick of these pompous neets bragging about how smart they are because they learn this for fun. They don't learn it for fun, they learn it to brag that they learned it.

Is my calculator wrong?!
How can cos^2(x) - sin^2(x) be equal to (cos^2(2x)) - 1 when the double angle trig identity states: cos^2(x) - sin^2(x) = cos(2x)
Explain this to me /sci/
learn to read retard
>>8720435
cos^2(x)+sin^2(x)=1
cos^2(x)-1= -sin^2(x)
now substitute
into your trig identity
cos^2(x)-sin^2(x)=cos(2x)
2cos^2(x)-1=cos(2x)
>>8720438

>Learning math concepts is boring
>Using math concepts is fun
How the fuck do you get over this?
I fucking have been learning shit off this page
http://www.coolmath.com/algebra
And I'm at number 20, Combinatorics, and I'm so fucking tired and bored of reading this shit that I can just die. It's just not interesting for some reason. I found the earlier articles kind of fun and interesting, but fuck this is so boring. It's so boring that I've been even dreading to practice the shit I read off of because fuck, it means staying on the page longer. Is it just the way they are teaching it?
>uggghhhh I hate learning math

That's the idea mang.
I'm hoping to enter STEM, I want to be an engineer or maybe a theoretical physicist, but fucking god, I'm so tired of studying. I want to DO. I have 1000x more fun sitting down and actually solving and doing shit than I do just sitting here toiling away through these FUCKING pages.
In order to actually get to be an engineer or enter STEM, I HAVE to know this shit, so I HAVE to fucking learn it.
>>8720078
What is it you're currently struggling with? T. Mech. Eng. here who posted above, I found certain mathematical concepts hard to grasp but loved EVERY part of Calculus. Maybe it's just the stuff or subject you're learning. You and I are similar in the fact that we want to get out there and apply what we know but what we sometimes forget is that we must learn these things before we can actually apply it.
