It was when I was like 10 or 11. I had read somewhere that the avg life span of a man was 70 years and then realized that 60 years from now, I'd be dead. I just thought wow I'm going to live at the most for another 60 or 70 years. I just thought that wasn't a lot of time.

The dynamics change a lot, but autism is an umbrella term for Asperger's (very high functioning), Classic autism (what it sounds like), and PDD-nos (a limbo state where you don't fit enough criteria for either of those)

I have low self-esteem, but it's completely warranted. While I am socially awkward, it's not because of the typical shyness, it's because I know that I have nothing to contribute and the situations become awkward because of that. From what I've seen, it's usually the other way around. People have things to talk about and things they want to say, but they can't because of their shyness.
