that's why your pic is entirely out of focus.
1. Don't shoot AUTO mode, do shoot aperture priority mode.
2. Rule here is to resize your images to 1000px on longest side
3. search on youtube for videos on Depth of Field (DOF) so you can learn how to use your aperture settings
4. watch every video you can on composition. Train tracks, for example, are leading lines and that's a good place to start with composition. But it has to be in focus and not blurry.

I need to replace the focusing screen on a Nikon FE. Or at least I think I do. Someone told me that smudges on that screen don't affect your pictures, they are just irritating. Is this true? And are focusing screens unique to each camera? Or will it be relatively easy to find a replacement? I know there are different types of screens, the one I have in it now is the split circle one which sometimes turns black if it's too bright outside. Which would you guys recommend?

The focussing screen doesn't affect the picture in any way, as the screen is only ever seen by your eye. Look at a cross section of an SLR, even thouigh the one in my picture is digital the theory is the same.

Noob here, need a clarification on something.
I was trying to take a picture of my dick yesterday,
it was in pretty lowlight condition, but the background not so much, the sunlight was coming in from a window in the background and reflecting off the walls around.
I was trying to get the bokeh effect but just couldn't focus on my dick because the autofocus would just freak out,
was this because of the excessive contrast of lightning on the subject and the background or the autofocus just can't into blurry backgrounds?
I couldn't find the option to turn off the autofocus before you ask,
new camera I'm getting used to it.
