Post em up. Drone photos, go!
>>2874132
Apologies for the large image size, I assumed 4chan would downscale it.
I'm surprised that despite having a drone and having near no restrictions on where to stand that you still fucked up the framing.
Good job. I don't think I could do that even if I tried.
>>2874181
Exactly what framing did I mess up? Strange how you're acting as if a subjective matter has a definite correct way to do it. It's exactly how I wanted to frame it so I don't believe I fucked anything up. To each his own I suppose.
I know a lot of you love to criticize, and usually not constructively, most peoples photo graphs. But like with music, drawing, writing, etc. photography is a form of art. There are rules and techniques as with all other arts, but it is just that. Art. It is not science, and therefore the rules and techniques do not always have to be %100 spot on, for the fact that it is art makes it completely subjective to both the artist and audience. But obviously there are some things that should be done correctly for it to be "good" art. In photography some of those things include contrast, exposure, framing, choosing a good aperture, subject, etc. However all of this things are still somewhat subjective as this is still art. So my question to you is, I see a lot of images with high or higher than life saturation. And it seems that to the general public, higher than true to life saturation tends to look "better". For you personally, at what point is an image "over saturated"? As long as the saturation doesn't take away from detail, I like both true to life colors as I can see the beauty of this world exactly the same as if I were there, but also more than true to life saturation as it can give a surreal, otherworldy effect which I also find comforting.
Pic related. Author of an article says this picture is over saturated, but I actually like it.
>>2873954
Most of HDRs look oversaturated to me
It's down to personal choice, whether you want to capture and show the beauty of real life things or create that beauty by manipulating an image as a means to an end.
The different outlooks on saturation come from the fact that it's easier by degrees to do the latter and authors of the prior feel the great lenghts and efforts they have to go to to produce adequately stunning images are made utterly redundant, meaningless, by a faggot with a torrented copy of photoshop, a five minute google crash course and a half-assed snapshit of their backyard. It boils down to the creative process versus the result. Oversaturated images go well with the general public and buy into that mentality of fixing the photographer's shortcomings with a slider. I leave it to you to guess which camp I subscribe to.
>>2873954
I just think the HDR here makes the picture look flat.
Weekend trip, I went fishing and had fun with my camera almost drown tho. CC welcome.

I forgot to mention; if you have some kind of similar pics, upload them here please, that could be good for ideas.
>>2873851
How the fuck would knowing the name of a style help you do it. You already know what you want. Just do it.
Also, that looks like garbage.
>>2873857
Derp, i want to find more similar photos, but i don't know the style of that pic, so i can't find more pics like that one.
If it has a style; i want to know, because i don't know exactly what i want to do, it's kind of similar to that picture, but not at all, that's why i want to find more pics like that one, i'm a little bit lost i think.
Yeah it looks like garbage :B but i like it.
Italy’s Lake Iseo is being reimagined. 100,000 square meters of shimmering yellow fabric, carried by a modular floating dock system of 220,000 high-density polyethylene cubes, undulate with the movement of the waves as The Floating Piers rise just above the surface of the water.

Hope its fine making a thread cause the stupid questions one is about to die.
I was taking my freshly bought Canon 70D (Kit lens 18-55 IS STM, should be completely new) for a spin and ended up scrambling to take this picture to catch the cyclist, which made me screw up the shutter speed underexposing the picture. I do expect some noise trying to recover it, but what worries me is all that color-noise you can see in the excerpt to the right, which i increased the exposure of in lightroom to make it more evident. Those bright pixels are all over the darker areas of the picture. Is this normal? If so, why is it making this much noise? because of underexposure fuckign with the sensor or something? Or did i somehow get ripped off and got a broken sensor or something.

Here is the histogram if it matters. I know shadows are clipped.
Canon's sensor tech is pretty old. You'll always have trouble trying to recover anything shot on their sensors that's beyond 1 stop.

Use the program modes next time, they are there for a reason. Aperture-, shutter priority, P mode etc...
Manual has its uses like panorama, long exposure etc... but it is cumbersome for everyday shooting.
I'm about to do a project for #artschool where I take stark B&W portraits of a certain type/group of people. From there I'm going to lay it out (very clean on white glossy paper), print it and perfect bind it. I have a real interest in type layout too, so I'm excited for this project.
Does anyone have some favorite books of photo collections that they would recommend? Or maybe certain Instagram accounts or portfolio sites? Looking for some inspo.
I would visit the campus library but they close well before I get to campus during summer hours. I'm also really trying not to look like Humans of NY. Thnx
Go on IG and look at people like @2instagood, @thepeoplescreatives, etc. Do some research

film or digital?
what lens will you be using?
what's your plan for lighting setup? what kind of lighting equipment do you have access to? can you get speedlites and gels? umbrellas and reflectors? strobes? light stands? light boxes?
have you shot portraits before? post example of your work
if you don't have solid portrait experience, let us know so we can dump some tips for the gear you have so you can nail this project and be proud of the results.

by the way the guy name is Roland Zwicknapp and he's german. if you want B/W portrait of tis type of people i recommand you to check the work of charles gatewood.
I can't decide between an M6 and an M7, I know the Leica m6 is fully mechanical and doest rely on batteries while the M7 does, but what are the noticeable difference while using the camera, does the M7 still retain that mechanical feel ?
Also is there a difference in the shutter sound due to one of them being fully mechanical and the other electronic ?
>>2872614
How fast is your photography? The M7 has auto exposure while with the M6 you have to set the shutter speed yourself. I wouldn't worry about the battery dependancy. You can still use 1/60 and 1/125 without batteries on the M7.
i'd go with the m6

Here's an example of a shot moments later, all I've done it tweak the contrast a little.
OP:
I'm new to this if you can't tell, image 1 looks as if it's been heavily stylized (despite it being straight off the SD card). I'd like it to look more balanced, and coloured similar to the second image. Has the sun ruined this shot, or can it be salvaged? I'm editing in After Effects (as this is for a video project), any advice would be welcome.. in future I'll turn down the saturation and contrast in the drone settings. I'm shooting with a DJI Phantom 3 4K.
