Do the people getting cars done by these reality shows have a really good idea about what they are going to get? You never see anyone get mad after the reveal.
I mean I would be royally pissed if my project got foosed up.
get that cancer out of this board.
It's all fake. I was at Wyotech when they filmed one of the first episodes of the Foose show, where they turned the tri 5 into the roadster. The car belonged to a friend of the show and the build took 9 months, not the week or whatever that they portray it on the show. Nobody is actually getting the ol two tone surprise

N/A Eagle Talon 5spd FWD
Strut towers have been booger weld patched, but seem solid
Unibody rail has a small weak point near the back side.
$500, engine is leaky and it needs a $50 control arm.
Should I pull the trigger or not?
Hello what is find me the most reliable daily driver between the year 1960 and 1980 because fick modern cars they suck. Nowadays it's all about how rich you are and not about driving enjoying. I can find a older car with like 70,000km for cheap and I can easily get another 130k out of them.
So answer my questions
Probably a pickup truck. Anything like OP pic is going to have everything electrical broken, auto trans were kinda a joke then too. Parts also hard to find.
slant 6 mustang
Any American V8 or straight 6. They won't be fuel efficient, some may be smogged to all hell and very weak, but they'll keep running and are simple as fuck to fix.
/o/ humor!

If I wanted humor I'd look at your car.
What went right?
not much, other than having a really good rally team with a really good driver (rip)

why not start a thread about a car company you do like?

Successful marketing to millennials
is the AW11 really just a meme car at this point? its a classic car tier?
it cant actually compete?
i knew it
Que?
>>14090020
It's like the miata. Handles well, lightweight, but makes shit for power.
Would be hella fun with 140-160 at the wheels.
People have more sw20s
thats more of the meme car but i like the sw20s rear more than the aw11
Is the millennium falcon the AE86 of star wars?
uh what
>>14089921

darth vader is sasuke
>>14089921
The falcon was a freighter, so I would imagine it as something big
Late 90's C/K
Also this thread is now about Star Wars ships as cars
What do you guys on /o/ think about buying a '90 Accord for $1300? It's a west coast car, so rust isn't an issue. It's a five speed stick, with alloys. Clutch and flywheel 9k ago.
I can't seem to find any issues with it. I'm apprehensive about buying a car with 280k miles on it, but it's a good price and I've seen a number of these things crack a million miles.
Anybody have experience with these things?
My sister had one when she was in high school, I drove it a decent amount. I fucking loved that car. It got totaled last summer when she was rear ended, RIP ;_;
The gasket around the camshaft is prone to failure, resulting in spark plug wells that are filled with oil. It's like $30 for parts and maybe an afternoon's work if you're really slow. Also rust around the rear wheel wells, the panel will come off and there's just nowhere to bolt it back on. Ours was duct taped for years.
Do it. If it was an auto I would say no but since it's not go for it
>>14089777
Damn, that sucks. Thanks for the heads up. That's one thing I'm trying to get an idea of; if there are any major issues these guys are prone to at these miles.
How much is it for regular in your local area /o/?
>Warwick, RI
i threw my dip cup at some cunt in providence today.
fuck RI
it's 2.21 a gallon in upstate NY
1.70
Ft.Worth, Tx
$1.80 in Phoenix, AZ
I'm going to a junk yard for the first time to look around for shit for my car
Nothing specific just parts and stuff
I've don't know much about them so is there anything I should know
What parts should I leave or usually go bad on sitting cars?
>>14089600
Generally stay away from anything rusted to absolute shit. Most engine components are usually fine. Stay away from the electrical and cloth upholstery. Leather can be fine if properly cleaned.
Get the classic junkyard ls for 500 smackaroos
>>14089600
>Look around for shit for my car
>Nothing specific just parts and stuff
What are you doing?
"going to the store."
What are you gonna get there?
"nothing specific just food and stuff"
>try pulling this shit on /ck/
we want to know details OP.
Here's some vague answer to your vague question.
>what parts to leave?
anything made of rubber unless it looks really good, anything rusted beyond a sand and repaint, anything made to be replaced like filters, brake rotors, or spark plug wires, bearings and universal joints, glass.
>things of dubious quality but could be worth it:
Master and slave cylinders, power steering racks/pumps, any part of a/c system, electrical components, parking brake cables, control arms and other related front end parts, drive shafts and other related drivetrain parts like rear diffs/ cv joints, sensors, radiators, tires (check age)
>almost always worth it:
engine components, transmissions, body panels, intercoolers, turbos, charge pipes, interior/trim if it looks good, headlight/turn signal housings, grill.
>have an Isuzu trooper.
>be told it has a torn CV axel boot.
>quoted 500 USD to replace.
>call local tire place that does suspension, ask them
>they respond "Sorry but we don't do Isuzu, see the whole system is sealed, after market boots are no longer made and to replace it would require dropping the transmission.
>look up aftermarket replacement boot online, costs 10 USD. Look up video on youtube of guy replacing boot. Took him 1 hour
>literally everything the tire place said said was wrong.
Why are so many car service places such utter trash?(Either way over priced or don't know what they are doing).
I'm not experienced enough to do it myself
What is a reasonable price for this type of repair?
>>14089437
Because no one ever replaces just the boot except backyard mechanics and crackheads.
Shops won't touch it because once it's been driven with the boot split, grease has been escaping and water has been getting in, and god knows how long it's been driven like that, and thus how much extra damage/wear has been put on the C/V joint that boot was protecting.
My personal philosophy is just to ignore cracked boots. If a boot fails, I wait for the C/V joint to start clicking, then replace the whole axle.
>>14089481
Regardless of if they just want to replace the boot or not, everything they said was wrong.
>>14089437
>costs 10 USD
>youtube of guy replacing boot. Took him 1 hour
>I'm not experienced enough to do it myself
Do it yourself, it's not that hard.
this is the best car ever made
