Buying/driving for the first time, UK.
Spending less than £1K and about £1.5K on insurance.
I'd like to get the most fun car I can afford, which is very limited - but I can atleast go for a light and nippy car.
Please give me advice about cheap old light cars that are a kind of fun experience and the same insurance range as any other low powered supermini.
I've heard good things about the K10 Micra and old French cars, but that might be a stretch too far in age range even for my low as fuck standards.
I'd also like to know about the EP81 Starlet which is possibly available to me for good value. They're light but I don't know what they are like to drive.
Also I'm not really open to modifications at all.

What is wrong with it? It looks mean. Wash it, change the emblems, maybe a black front kidney if you're young and want that aggressive look. And a more expensive upgrade would be to get BBS rims or something that looks more upmarket. But the current rims do look OK though.
