>Middle aged mother talking to me about buying my car
>she starts saying that my car jumped the time and that's why the chain was replaced
>I tell her that it never jumped time and it was done as preventative maintenance
>"my mechanic and auto body guy have never said anything like that before"
>I tell her that it's literally in the car's manual
>"Hmmmm...well that's crazy"
dumb frog poster.
For some reason I'm blessed with a mother who understands stuff like this. She has no knowledge or interest in it, but if I explain something I'm doing to her car, my own or similar then she actually does get the idea of how things work
I know that feel bro.
Does anyone here buy and flip wrecked cars from insurance auctions? how are the profits if you do the work yourself?
Catstang did but he decided to go cry. Sometimes I wonder what he's been up to and how his mustang has been going.
>>14211917
>clean title, easy fix
Fucking craigslist
I know a Polish guy up in Canada that does this, though he's shady about it. He buys wrecked cars for really cheap, fixes them, then passes them off as clean. He makes pretty good money but is scummy
I don't know shit about motorsports aside from Nascar and F1, what other series are worth watching?
MotoGP, WRC, Indy, Formula e, and GP2 are all good fun. Indy can be a bit long winded at times but if you watch NASCAR that shouldn't be a problem.
>>14211799
We need a motorsport where people drive upside down on a track. If you slow down too much you literally fall off.
It would be amazing to watch

BTCC
STCC
Aussie V8 Supercars
MIATA
Happy Miata is best Miata.
are the old miatas good? Around 1995. If its good then how much is not a rip off?
>Same platform, share coupe, sedan Caddy exclusive
>Share I4T, V6
>V6TT exclusive to ATS-V, V8 exclusive to Camaro SS
> 8-speed auto, 6-speed manual options for both
>Caddy is 60k top trim
>Chevy is 45k top trim
>Almost identical power output, but one is big-displacement NA V8, other side twin-turbo V6
>Camaro is more sporty and mod-receptive, saves extra money for more go fast parts
>Caddy is optioned out, luxury cruiser, but 15k more
So if you had all that monies, and had to choose between the two, what do /o/?
I realize a C7 or 350R might be faster around the track, but fuck off with your derailing.
>>14211691
If I am honest I'd probably swing for the ATS-V
Just god damn GM knocked that car out of the park, plus comes standard with two turbos.
Plus you can get 550 RWHP with just a tune and downpipe which is pretty fucking nuts

do you wanna be shitposted on the internet for looking like a redneck [camaro] or do you wanna be shitposted on the internet for not having bought a german equivelent? [the caddy]
>>14211691
ATS-V
it looks like a car, not a giant hot wheel
do people automatically assume that i have a tiny dick if i drive one of these?
>>14211603
Yes
>>14211608
>>14211612
is it bothersome?
I don't care about your dick, so I just assume you have shit taste. Really, badly shit taste.
What do you think of my idea
>>14211591
Or you could just use hydraulic steering...
>>14211609
That adds complexity and weight, and can fail
>tfw no DOHC L28
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jVVY-RMXCs
>tfw no big power L stroker
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q04FZglSD0M
>>14211403
enh. When it's a totally custom made DOHC head that doesnt mean much
>>14211646
It's beautiful and helps make oodles of power. what's not to love?
OS Giken heads are like 100,000 dollaroos. Nice to think about and infinitely more modern-looking than the SOHC head, but I'm pretty resigned to never having one.
Thinking of getting one of these for the following reasons:
>pick up shit for the house that's too large for the car
>take the dogs into the woods
>take mountain biking
>take camping twice a year
>hauling the motorcycles when needed
>just drive when I'm not in the mood to drive the bikes or cars
What should I know about these donkeys? The only thing I'm really familiar with is the shitty plastic goes bad. I hear they are pretty damn reliable and I can get them for cheap. Anyone here own/owned one? If no one is familiar I go browse the shitty Chevy forums.
>>14211288
nice crossover mom
Just get a Tahoe/burban and not looks like a faggot while doing your things
>>14211288
you should buy a RAM
Reasons to buy a new car vs used:
>>14211217
Cheap as fuck used car over new car.
>>14211217
>because you don't have the cash on hand to buy a good used one
>don't have the time to save for years to buy cash
>want a warranty
>want a hassle free car (that even if there is a problem you get a free rental)
>you get your car paid for by work (when I was in the corporate world they paid for the car, but there was a year restriction)
>you don't visit /o/
A new car is a good choice if you want to keep it for a long time. You'll know every facet of its history.
What does o think of the Integral Kobe ND5RC?
>dat maximum ducktail downforce
Was in a friends Subaru Forester with engine change in yesterday and he threw it into roundabouts and corners at 60 without a question from him or the car. I drive fast but not that fast how do you learn the limits of your car like that without ending up in a ditch?
>>14211037
Parking lot
>>14211037
'closed course'
>>14211046
The speed he was putting it into tight corners you just cant get up in a parking lot
Why doesn't /o/ ever talk about the Saturn Sky roadster?
>>14210953
Because it's very expensive for what it is, and not that fast, and it's old.
$11k here for used ones with clean title.
>>14210953
What is there to talk about?
It's just ok.
3000 pounds despite being the size of a miata
Only GM could manage such a feat
Well now

I saw a YouTube channel of a guy who builds/races one of these combinations. I wonder if it is his
>>14210853
Looks like a nice sleeper
>>14210749
That's a common as fuck swap
.
Because I can.
>>14210565
400 bucks on some oem alloy wheels? I don't need to justify it.
I enjoy the car.
