Factory or not? Done right, or "Well enough"?
>>
>>14204636
Not factory, their prices seem pretty high and it was easy to find factory-style spoilers

Preferably have the job done right though
>>
>>14204644
It will require drilling and repainting, what car? maybe a 300-1000$ Job depending on paint, and what will be required to be pulled apart.

I like the halo's, just maybe not so much with colors. I'd prefer a clean white light, maybe a slight blue hint but not nearly that much.

Guys I need help, I'm retarded.

My upstream O2 sensors were plugged in downstream because the idiot that I bought the headers off of welded a cap thread to the upstream bungs. I can't find any adapter that fits...

Do I just saw the bastard off or what, I don't have any welding tools...

>>
>>14203557
The guy you bought them off has fucked you right up.
Cut them off and get proper bungs welded in.
>>
>>14203587

Yeah, like I said, I was retarded. I didn't realize it mattered if they were further back or not. Downstream O2s have been tuned out.

>>14203591

How do I cut it off?

Is there any harm in running red lights if no one is coming from the other way?

I was late for work, and there was a red light when like no one was coming. So instead of stopping for no reason at all and wasting gas I just went for it because that was the logical thing to do.

Has anybody else done this? Has anybody thought about doing this? Sometimes it feels like there's no reason why we should be stopping.

>>
>>14203478
If theres nobody around, and no red light cam, I see no issue.
>>
In my old town there was this one intersection that was the town's busiest too. In the early morning when no one was around, it'd show green for the main road. But it cycled on a timer so when you're driving towards it you wake up the intersection timer and the first thing it does is turn the main road red... So it was impossible to drive down this road going to the highway without it turning red on you. So it was safe to blow through it if there weren't any cops taking advantage of the intersection since they knew about it too.
>>
As someone who grew up in the middle of nowhere I'm use to running stop signs. It's a victimless crime.

Running actual lights in the city, that's a gamble.

Buying a new car because reasons. Found 4 on craigslist that seem to be good cars and are being sold for a good deal. Was just wanting some /o/pinions

>2004 Honda Civic
-hybrid
-199k miles
-"needs some attention but nothing major"
-$2000

>1997 Nissan Sentra
-125k miles
-"runs perfect, good conditions"
-$1625

>2000 Dodge Neon ES
-156k miles
-ES model
-"turning belt good for another 20k miles"
-"tires good for at least another season"
-"could use a valve cover gasket replacement"
-"drips a bit of oil on exhaust manifold now and then when you top-off"
-"may need a break job in another 5k miles"
-"Idles a little rough at times"
-$1790

>1997 Chevy Cavalier
-98k miles
-transmission leak
-needs new seals
-"possibly new bearings"
-"was very well taken care of"
-$1500

The Civic seems the nicest but the milage is a bit high. The Neon also seems appealing since the seller seems to have a lot of confidence in it in the ad. The owner of the Cavalier responded to me already so I could look at that today, plus it's the cheapest.

Overall I'm willing to commit $2500 with price to buy + any maintenance that has to be done, so think of the Cavalier as $1500 plus $1000 done in any repairs/maintenance on it. Again, just wanting some /o/pinions if anyone is willing to chime in. Posted all the relevant info found in the ads but can post full ads/additional info if needed.

"if you serious about inporting a car from Japan, Doug would be you go to source as he has written about importing a GTR from Japan last year and to keep it in the TTAC family Thomas can go check out the car for you, I think he is still in Japan."

As for actual info on importing, read the following and if you have anymore questions email Doug Demuro (or that Thomas guy) yourself as Im sure he will have no problem helping you out.

neat lil cars arent they

So when someone mentions a car will last longer when its well looked after. what classifies as well looked after.

Serviced on time?
Oil and filter changed every 5000 - 10,000
fluids checked, topped up and changed regularly?

what are they doing? seems such an unrealistic situation
>>
Basically that, yeah.
It sounds simple but you'd be surprised how many people treat their cars like magical perpetual motion machines. Especially when people buy into the meme that Japanese cars only need oil changes.
>>
Exactly. Also gentler acceleration until oil is warm. Rule of thumb is 2 miles per cylinder until oil and block are warm.
If it's a turbo, you'll need to cool it down after intensive use, too. A few minutes (say 10) of low-boost running around is good enough.

Thinking about getting a 2005 - 2007 Audi a4.
Budget is around 4000 for the car.
What are your thoughts on these cars?
Got any experience owning or driving them?
Are they expensive to own? Maintenance, fuel economy etc?
What mileage would be considered high on them? Ones i'm looking at have between 150,000 - 250,000 kms on the clock.
Which engines are more reliable on them, the diesels or petrols?

Interested also OP, currently deciding between an a4 and a bmw 330
>>
>>14202804

I own an 08 a4, which is the same thing.

Keep In mind i'm stage II plus and beat the everloving shit out of it

I've replaced:
>two cam followers (simple $20 piece)
>pcv valve
>timing belt/water pump
>motor/trans mounts (upgraded to poly)

Car has 105k, i've put 40k miles on the tune and many launches an wot runs later, the stock clutch is starting to show signs of wear, so I set the tune back to stock and the problem disappeared. The turbo seals might be wearing too now

I've gotten 34 MPG on a highway trip and average 25 mostly city. This car has been great to me
>>
Thats a pretty low budget.

Have you factored in water pump replacements etc.?

Thinking about getting a bmw as a dd within the next 8 months and I came to /o/ for advice on it. Only Requirements are 4 doors, strong community, can only be model years between 1995 - 2011, and can take some slight neglect as I'll be in the air force by the time I get the car (leave for bmt on the 19th) and I don't know how my schedule will be. Any help is appreciated

e90 if you can afford it. N52 naturally aspirated engine. Buy a good one and you have a modern RWD top quality reliable car with even some brand reputation.

Are E36 328is any good? I love the styling of them, but the price difference between them and the M3 is pretty big for me. What am I looking at when buying a used BMW like this anyway? Are they all as beat to shit as everyone says, and will it just fall apart on me once I get it if it hasn't already?
15 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Bumping, I'm curious, too.

But I bet the price difference have always been huge, it was the cheaper substitute and we won't find any clean and not pricey one.
>>
/o/ generally likes E36. Definitely look out for rust on skirts, chassis and wheel arches. Make sure the engine is in good condition, they're popular among boyracers with 0 car knowledge, especially in Eastern Europe. There's tons of BMW forums where you'll probably get better answers in terms of maintenance and shit. Keep in mind that where you live affects parts prices, I imagine them being cheap in Germany for example but a lot of people complain about very expensive maintenance.
In terms of driving, I can tell you for sure that even a 316 shitbox is amazingly fun to drive so I can only expect a 328 to be even better.
>>
>>14202550
besides the interior (bad quality) you ll love it.I currently drive a 318i hardtop and i bought a 2.5 engine to swap it in (the 328 has the m52b28 but the m50b25 is better for turbo builds).go ahead, you will love it
