Read sticky, narrowed down to four choices based on what I wanted, but now I want to know anyone's experiences with these cars.
2001-2005 Focus ZX3
2006 Mazda 3
2006 Chevy Cobalt
2003-2005 Honda Accord
What my priorities are in order:
>good on fuel
>comfy interior
>quick handling, can get into tight spaces
>will last if treated right
>relatively fast
>cargo space
>comfy rear seats
Fuck my shit up /o/

Can anyone help me identefy the part circled in red?

looks like an inline resonator to me. Cars have had these for at least 20 years now

Why would the exhaust need to trap resin? Is it an emissions issue?
>>14218155
It's for cars that run on hemp fuels. That exhaust is for a converted Mustang.
Why haven't you bought the Lexus 911 GT yet?

Dear god that front end is hideous
I love it.

Who is Lexus' lead designer and how old is he?
Whats your car insurance? And monthly rate?
About to switch to metromile (pay as you go) and save roughly 50% ($84 vs $48) compared to progressive.
This screenshot was a couple of the most expensive quotes I got for a 1996 Volvo 440. The cheaper quotes would cost me around £2-2.5k.
I have a clean record, I just live in the UK and I'm young. Looks like my first car will be a gutless fiesta

Hyundai Accent mate
My first year (at 18) was in a Hyundai Accent 1.5 MVi. 101hp, 890KG, surprisingly fun to throw about and only ran me £91 a month. Hell I've still got it if you're in Scotland I'll be happy to sell you it
>>14219214
>Scotland
Kek I'm in Essex
I have seen a couple Accents around, but I'm still leaning on Ford Fiesta/Escort.
I'm open to almost anything though, just as long as the insurance for the year, any taxes/fees, and initial purchase price comes under £2k
/o i just sold my car 45 minutes ago...
I feel suicidal, i never thought it would hurt this bad to sell the car that you love so much...
fuck its hard...
Wut.

They're incredibly inconsistent.
They've shat out complete turds in every way, they've made cars that look absolutely terrible, they've made some of the most beautiful cars you can buy and sometimes they absolutely nail something, like the Viper.
I like them because they have the balls to put things like the Viper and Hellcat twins into production, and they know how to make small, fun cars (500, Punto).
They're never boring, sometimes good, sometimes bad.
Looking forward to see how this will do.
You can buy one fully kitted out with a 1.6 multijet for less than 22k and it's really really pretty.
Why dont more vehicles use this design? Its the one that Mercedes use the most. The wiper transmission draws and arc over the windshield so that one large blade covers most of the glass.
There are huge benefits to this.
>Single blade
>Better coverage
>Symmetrically clean glass
>Assumingly a less complex design
All wiper blade system use some sort of transmission to transfer power from the motor, to the blades. The Eccentric system takes up less space, and does a better job.
This system should best be used for rear wipers. Most modern rear glass is largely rectangular, and a circular motion of a tiny 14" blade doesnt cover a lot.
A lot of cars now have one huge main wiper, and a tiny followup wiper that covers the last bit. Whats the point of this? Just use the eccentric design already!

Seems really stupid when you'll turn it to full blast when a ton of rain is coming down. It could work on the rear, I wouldn't put it on the front
Who cares lol
Fast speeds wouldn't work well I imagine, plus any significant amount of snow may be too much for one big blade
Specifically the MG ZT-T / Rover 75. I have loved the look of these cars forever and you NEVER see them on the roads where I'm from. Most of them are priced under £700 however this one has upwards of 150K on the clock. BMW engine, so in theory it should still be good for up to around 250K right?
I wanted the pr/o/fessionals to help me, if you'd be so kind. I love these cars, but I don't want to buy something that'll die after a year, I want at least 2 years out of it at roughly 15K a year.
Thanks in advance!
I'd do a pre buyers inspection and have the mechanic do a compression check. It'll show if the cylinders still make good combustion chambers or not.
>>14217532
> MG Rover
No, I wouldn't buy one.
I would not buy one new.
I would not buy one used.
I would not buy one over 150K.
I would not buy one UNDER 150K.
I would not buy one if you paid me.
Why?
It's a fucking rover. It'll be rusted to shit, the electrics won't work in the damp, and it'll be shit.

What's your experience?
What does /o/ think of the nissan rogue 11-12 and toyota venza 09?
Is the CVT really a lemon?
How about 6-spd Autotragic?
Its for my mom, so no hurr muh hotrod.
>CVT
>Not a Honda ATV
>why
>>14217512
My mom just got the 2016 rogue and is absolutely in love with it. I drove a 2013 rogue for work over the summer. It was comfortable and got good mpgs. It actually had a bit of kick to it as well. Didn't have much trouble when merging on to highways. Room for groceries, luggage, and people.
Definitely not a flashy or fun vehicle, but for a commuter car for someone that just need funtionality and a way to get from a to b it's pretty great.
>>14217512
DO NOT get a Nissan CVT. They are extremely unreliable.
why are ameripoors always complaining about old german car maintenace costs?they're everywhere all over the place in europe and its not that bad, considering that bmw/audi/merc are much better to drive than your shit chevrolets and other junks.parts arent that expensive and it doesnt cost a fortune to fix them, why are you whining /o/? its coming from a current 740i owner,i've owned a '94 535i, 2002 530d,2003 530i and neither of these caused my any headaches.

Realize that parts for a German car are cheaper when they don't have to cross an ocean.
Also, if the parts keep selling expensive here, which they do, why would anyone make them cheaper?
I was dicking around last night reading about MIMA mods on G1 Honda Insights and came across an E-wheel, and that led to more HYBRADs.
>Ahybrid adapter, or HYBRAD, is a device which turns any single fuel passenger class vehicle into a multi-fuel /hybrid vehicle. One example is a hybrid adapter that simply plugs into the back of your vehicle and pushes it. Hybrid adapters run simultaneously, or in parallel, with your existing drivetrain. HYBRADS still fall in the realm of DIY Hybrids, as there is no commercially available option.
Any thoughts on this? It's currently only used with ecomodding in mind, but it's literally bolt on power.

Nothing good can come from this.
I just got $1000 from inheritance. What do I do to my sc400? I was thinking some nice summer tires and some coilovers, is there something better I can do to my car? It's completely stock atm.
>>14217239
>$1000 for inheritance
I don't know why, but that's a bit sad
A GOOD set of coilovers, youre family member who passed would be pissed in their grave if you got a cheap set and broke them 5 months after install
