changing a gasket on my skylines RB25DET inlet manifold, specifically the one in this picture with the dotted yellow line, inlet manifold is in 2 halves and the gasket goes between them, should i use some kind of sealant or not? i've heard people say i should and some say not to.
>>14196024
Nope, just grab a OEM gasket and torque that cunt down.
I refreshed my rb20 and didn't use any sealant between the upper and lower plenum, just the OEM gasket. No leaks a year later. I don't recall if the service manual said any was needed or not
Don't mix them, just use the gasket.
Hey /o/
I noticed something strange today in my truck. I was able to pull the key out while it was started. After this I turned it off and noticed I was able to turn it back on without a key in the ignition.
I'm right to assume I need a new ignition cylinder right? has anyone had this problem before? The vehicle in question is a 92 Chevy k1500 blazer
Yeah probably. Here

Lots of cars can do this...
not worth fixing it doesn't matter.
>>14195966
If someone broke the window they could just drive off. Idk if its worth the risk of not fixing it
>>14195965
thanks I'm gonna look into getting one tomorrow. Is it an easy install for a novice?
Opinion?
>>14195765
ayy lmao
>>14195769
ayy lmao indeed.
>>14195765
Think about how much money you will spend on this car. Overall.
Then think about its practicality
Then think about bigger more fuel efficient cars you could get.
Then get a bigger more fuel efficient car.
Then be happy
Are there any new cars that look like they're standing totally above all competition?
Like if they had an expression of " I'm not even trying and I'm so fucking better than you".
Why the fuck is every fucking shitpile car looking like it's really hard trying to push out an incredibly dried up and compressed turd?
>>14195749
Basically any McLaren
>>14195850
Fuck, you're right. There's still hope.
This gif illustrates it quite accurately
I work for Toyota tech support. AMA
Do you know my father? He works at Nintendo
Why is the dashboard on my 07 Camry Hybrid melting?
>>14195698
Why did you make this thread?
Have all of these landed in the junkyard?
>>14195624
One could only hope
Everybody here needs a Citation.
>>14195631
Boomer, why did you junk the one of the only good chevys?
I've always wondered, if you can squeeze more power out of a two stroke engine then why don't more purpose-built racecars use them? I get why road cars don't as they pollute significantly more, but who gives a shit when the only purpose in a race is to go fast?
>>14195273
> RIP in peace ears
>>14195273
You also couldn't drive the zonda r at any of the race tracks due to noise regulations.
Modern racing is regulated to all shit.
rule #1, no 2 strokes.
If they ever make a clean burning lubricant, will 2 strokes make a comeback?
Can someone explain to be how the NSX is apparently a supercar? It's a great car, no doubt, but I don't see how it's a supercar.
Because Honda fanboys need something that isn't a FF econobox to benchrace
>>14195192
Its performance rivaled a Ferraris at the time. I'd say that qualifies.
>>14195192
It handled as well or better than super cars, was as fast or faster than super cars for it's time, hand built aluminum frame, limited production, exotic looks and expensive.
i am 6'10... i am looking for a reliable, yet full-size suv... no fancy nonsense that will break down, just a v8 and rwd and comfy/roomy interior. not looking to break the bank. what does /o/ think about the armada?
You should consider a lotus Elise instead
>>14195152
I think a Miata will be a perfect fit for you
Have you considered a compact SUV with a sunroof?
A family friend of mine had an Armata. Nice and everything, but aren't they ludicrously expensive?
what's the most reliable, fun to drive coupe made after 1990 with an easy to learn and use stick shift i can find a GOOD example of for $2000?
miatas are basically beat to shit for anything less than 4k, in the northeast, in winter.
hell I'd even take a hit on reliability if it met the other three criteria
saturn sc1 or sc2 maybe?
>>14194994
>fun to drive coupe made after 1990 with an easy to learn and use stick shift i can find a GOOD example of for $2000?
keep saving up bro
>any of that
>2000
Pick one
Did people like the 200sx? (specifically the 1988 model) I've never really heard too much about it, only its older brother the 240sx.
I have the opportunity to buy a 1988 200sx special edition, with only 120k miles on it, all original and clean as fuck. should i go for it? thoughts?
>>14194810
YES
I wish I was you
All rwd cars are so rare here
>>14194822
Noice, any experiance with these cars?
just needs paint, it looks as if its been sitting outside for a while, it was from Washington.
>you will never buy rwd
Literally all I have is civic and prelude
Not fair not fair not fair
Found this on craiglist for 3500$ and 130k mikes, what /o/ has to say about this car?
>>14194616
>buy car
>unfuck it
>turn around and sell to weeb enthusiast for 10k
Mod it into a Dagumi Trueno, sell it for over 12000
>>14194616
Damn, seller doesn't know about the drift tax/anime tax. Buy it and drive the hell out of it.
hey /o/ i don't usually come here a lot for help but I've been looking for a car that'll catch all of the honey dips eyes. Im not some rich jock so lambos and ferraris are out of the question. I just want something that isn't too expensive.
saged for normalfagginess
>>14194289
A black Ford F150.
fourth gen eclipse
normies think it looks exotic
Where can I get rain guards like this?
>you will never own cheap rwd
>>14194039
You're better off just getting the kind that go along the pillar as well as the top.
>>14194081
It's not fair
All rwd for under $5k Is so rare
Is it possible to use household items as car fuel?
Don't worry I have absolutely no intention of trying something this stupid, but I'm just curious. Say you're in an emergency life-or-death sort of situation and you're low on fuel. Is there anything you can put in your car that would successfully work as fuel short term, even if it permanently fucks it up?
there's some way to make a diesel equivalent out of cooking oil and metho
>>14194139
That sounds interesting. I assume it's a difficult/long process? Do you know if there is anything that can be done relatively fast? Or better yet, just some liquids that you can pour straight in and get some sort of success out of.
>>14194218
You can just put vegetable oil from yer kitchen in a diesel. Only problems long term is fuel gelling and some hoses not being happy about it. Honestly if this is a concern get an older mostly mech diesel and prep it to run on grease. Google grease car and learn all you need to do it reliably with no real risk.
