Hey /o/,
I just bought this puch moped, its fucking awesome, but I need to cop a helmet. Is there any specific style I should go for? What's a fair price to pay?

I was thinking of getting a full faced helmet, would 100$ be enough?

Wait, he's parking on the street? I would've gotten him towed.

Hey /o/, i'm looking for an affordable new sports car in the 20-15K Range. I need something with Electronic Stability Control, RWD, Manual Transmission, and i'm not a fan of convertibles. So far i'm looking at Subaru BRZ/Scion FR-S, Hyundai Genesis Coupe, Subaru WRX, Nissan 370z.

If you want RWD why are you looking at the WRX?

If you can daily a Miata, save up for an ND.
>>
The twins are slow for their price, the Genesis is so numb to drive you'd think the gas tank was filled with Novocaine, the WRX is AWD and looks like a riced Accord now, and the 370z is pretty outdated.

What exactly is this type of internal combustion engine?

>The essence of which invention consists principally in the following particulars, viz: A piston working in a cylinder and put in motion by the explosion of an inflammable gas; and is re-acted upon by the pressure or elasticity of the air in the cylinder above the piston. This air, as the piston rises, becomes more and more compressed and, in proportion to this compression, its resistance increases. By this means, the motion of the piston is gradually retarded, and must finally be arrested, without violence or injury; let the force of the explosion be what it may. The explosion is instantly succeeded by a vacuum under the piston and the condensed air, acting above the piston, presses it down again.

>Thus an alternating or reciprocating motion is established which, with proper machinery, may be applied to any mechanical purpose. The present application towards propelling a boat is, by means of cranks, to give an elliptical motion to a number of paddles in a mode not hitherto practiced.

Some type of compression appears to be used, but is it in-cylinder? Is it a two-stroke or four-stroke engine? I don't know enough about engineering to answer these questions so I was wondering if someone here could help me out. I can supply more details if you want some.

Do you let your car idle and warm up before you drive it on a frigid cold Winter morning, /o/?

My general morning routine is to go outside, start my car, and fire up the heater. I go back in and have some coffee & toast and let the car get nice and toasty inside before I leave for work. I let it idle for about 10 minutes. Keep in mind this is between 4 and 5 AM so it's pretty fucking cold out there in Southwest Ohio.

Recently I read on the Internet that this is really bad and I'm basically slowly killing my car (and the environment). But a lot of people will probably tell you that warming up your car in the frigid cold is vital to your car's overall health.

So which is it? Am I doing bad or good? I drive a 2000 Honda Accord, btw.

Most car manuals will tell you to not do this and instead drive it lightly to warm it up. The engine suffers the most wear by far when it's cold and you're prolonging the amount of time it spends cold significantly by letting it idle.
>>
The quicker your engine gets to operating temperature the quicker everything can expand. If you let your car idle in the cold it will take a long time to reach operating temperature so the tolerances will be tighter increasing where and as long as your engine is below a certain temperature the fuel mixture will remain rich thus polluting the atmosphere at a much higher rate. Turn your car on give it 10-15 seconds for all the fluids to go through and you're good to start driving casually until you reach operating temperature then you can drive normally but letting it idle in freezing temperature to warm up is a very bad idea
>>
Living where its cold af, kek.

>he still doesn't have a gt-r

GT-R's are superior to vettes. The automotive press is saying that too. Heck, even the Europeans are lauding the GT-R and hate the vette.

You cannot argue with that, especially since the only alternatives are the GT-R mills from lambo and ferrari that, while generate near-GT-R godlyness, are painfully lacking in shitpost potential. GT-R's, in fact, rival vette mills. automotive history and commercial viability is screaming for the GT-R's design of the twin turbo v6 in terms of overall engineering supremacy.

Despite what vette fags say, muh v8 or >lolv6 or whatever never meant anything and it never will. It's a stupid marketing gimmick. The real measure of an gt-r is how much it butthurt compared to the shitstorms it makes. In that regard GT-R's are superior engineering, they get the job done making the same shitstorms with less posts, smaller posts and fewer trolls. There's no point in vettes unless you're trying to impress benchracers.

Awd, automatics, and computers are literally the only reasons it beats a rwd, manual vette. Don't be a stupid autist, even the journalists know so
