Why are you factoring work you'll never do into buying these? It's your first car, you aren't going to do anything but put cheap rice shit on it from Vato Zone of Pepe Boys.
>>14216803
On the assumption that you're American, where the fuck are you going to find a classic Mini for $5k?
Am I missing anything here guys?

>sohc has none of the easy multivalve technology of dohc
There are multivalve sohc engines with vvt
>>14216708
Think you pretty much nailed it, OP.
>>14216737
But they're usually a complicated mess. Also, having a single cam they usually don't have fully independent VVT (so both intake and exhaust).
There are also multivalve pushrod engines, but fact of the matter is that if you want multivalve, DOHC is the easiest way to get it.
Why is the Punto the best subcompact you can buy?
>cheaper than a Polo
>good build quality, superior to the other rivals, a bit inferior compared to a Polo
>not rattles whatsoever
>great petrol and diesel engines
>muh empeegees
>incredibly spacious
>arguably the best looking of the bunch
>good handling, no bodyroll whatsoever
>comfy yet firm

Why is this thing so hard to drive? Every one says it's deadly but no one explains
because its a snek
can you handle your dick when you see a sexy ladi?
It's not. Randy Pobst has already stated that the Viper is actually easy to drive. It's just that no Viper owner would ever admit to that.

gee I wonder.
Apparently the 2016 has a lot more downforce though
WHAT CAR IS GOOD? (UK EDITION)
I'm a pizza boy in need of a new car. My current one is a Saab 9-5 Aero which I have agreed to sell to my father for £800, and adding in my pizza savings (£750) this gives me a budget of £1350 (subject to change upwards if I get good work in the next week or two before I sell the saab)
Now I'm trying to find a new car, that needs to be fun to drive, good on fuel, reasonably cheap to insure, and somewhat reliable (in order of importance) I'm leaning towards a 7th generation Celica GT (£600 - £1500) but I would love /o/ to weigh in on what would be best.
I will consider anything except a Peugeot, with the sole exceptions of 106 and 205.
I'm also toying with the idea of buying something awful with great economy (like a Citroen AX diesel) AND a fun car on the side, but I highly doubt I could do that within my budget.
>>14216468
That should be £550 in savings, not £750
>>14216468
Not from England, but as someone who works with pizza drivers a lot I can tell you those cars are not treated as well as they should be. Get something you're prepared to drive hard.
Also, don't buy a second car, you'll probably end up with double the problems. Better to consolidate for one better car.
>>14216468
DON'T get a Celica GT. The 1.8L 1ZZ has really bad oil burning issues until 2003. I had one and it burned oil so insanely fast that it ended up running out on me.
GTS apparently doesn't have the issue but that's premium.
Otherwise it's a great little car, miss mine.
Less window, more mean!

I need your help /o/, I'm stumped.
I've posted about my problem on three different Mustang forums now and none of them have been able to help.
My fucking EGR valves keeps breaking. I noticed that the stock one had a sizable crack in it, right where the exhaust hose screws in, so I replaced it. After driving at freeway speeds for about 15 minutes I got a check engine light, P1443. Lo and behold, the new EGR valve has a big ass crack in the same spot at the old one (pic related). What the fuck? I googled that shit up but I can't find very much. I did find a couple of threads suggesting that the cats or the muffler could be so clogged up that it makes the EGR valve blow chunks. The thing is, I live in California and the car passed smog last month so they must be flowing somewhat well right?
It also has a problem retaining pressure in the fuel system after the car is turned off but I don't that issue is related.
Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Fuck I forgot, it's a 1998 Mustang GT. derp

I have a serious question /o/
I'm looking around to buy my first vehicular device and I stumbled across this turd for $900. the guy lives in middle of no where and considering the factors I feel like that price could come down a bit. anywho, should I even go and look at This turd or not and if so what do I look for and what should I pay?
it's a 75 jeep mail truck (CJ5 with 2 wheel drive and right side steering. it has the AMC straight 6 in in and an automatic 3 speed transmission.) I'm not looking to restore it or anything. most likely gonna chop the roof and paint it olive drab like a 40's willy. what do???

Alright /o/, it's time to make a Craigslist ad. Suggest what you think the ad to end all ads should have. I'm throwing in:

Browsing /o/ I've seen a trip named gunstar posting his 4g eclipse. Liking how his looks I started reading reviews and was thinking about getting one.
Then I came across this review: http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2005/06/mitsubishi-eclipse-gt/
>It's been a while since I've driven a death car.
> If Mitsubishi could tame the Eclipse's torque steer, the car's fresh design, cracking engine, silken six speed gearbox, robust chassis, superb brakes and entirely reasonable sticker price would make it one of the best sports coupes of our time. As it is, the Eclipse scares me to death.
If I buy this car is it going to kill me? I don't have much experience driving and the entire review makes the car sound super dangerous.
It's a slow and boring woman's car. I didn't read the article because I don't care, but it's probably a joke.

>It's a slow and boring woman's car. I didn't read the article because I don't care, but it's probably a joke.
It doesn't sound slow
>Equipped with 'Mitsubishi Innovative Variable timing and lift Electronic Control' (MIVEC), the Eclipse's 3.8-liter V6 powerplant pours on the power from the basement to the penthouse. At the same time, the GT's coffee-can exhaust emits a mid-range zizz that hardens into a determined wail as you enter MIVEC-ian hyperspace. The Eclipse GT's six has so much sonic character that you blip the throttle for the Hell of it, lower the windows before entering tunnels and hold onto gear changes just because you can.
>You see my problem? The Eclipse's engine constantly begs for a bloody good thrashing. It gets worse. Floor the free-revving GT in second gear, or third. Once again, the steering wheel torques back. At that point, you're going at least 50mph– which is more than fast enough to make the sudden loss of directional stability a life-threatening experience.

Sup hom/o/s, I dont know much about cars and i saw this on craigslist. For $10k this seems way too good to be true. KBB values it at over $20k... and does anyone know what the hell fieldpainted means?

I'd think field painted means he painted it himself. But I'm unsure I've never heard it worded like that.
