Any of you candy-asses ever use tire paint? I've got General G-MAX tires on my black shitbox and I want to paint the recessed lettering red for that edgy, go-fast race car look.
Trying to figure out what the best quality/longest lasting tire paint is out in this great big world we live in.

I was gonna do this, but from what I heard no matter what you do, it will look like shit after a month and you will have to reapply. there's only one company out there that makes this custom adhesive sticker thing to put on your wheels (ammo nyc did a video on it) but it's like 100$ a tire and that's just a colossal waste of money to throw onto tires that will eventually be trashed anyways.

like $25 a tire unless you need more letters. Only see white though

Can we have an actual thread about this without it turning into an anti-prius and anti-teslafag fuckfest?

There are some pretty nice ones out there these days, like the BMW i8, McLaren P1, and the Fisker Karma.

>P1's rear end looks like a child drew it

The Fisker Karma is noticably unfinished though. Glaring design and manufacturing faults in detail. Literally a concept car brought into production. Small interior space, questionable build quality, the petrol engine exhaust is placed right behind the front left wheel so you're getting gassed by your own car as you stand at a red light with the window down.

My brother's truck clicks when accelerating. We took it to a shop and they basically said they had no clue. Any ideas as to what it might be? Hoping It's not pic related.

So the drivetrain wars are over and we already have another cancerous flamewar "debate" that is American vs. European car culture because Eurocucks like the smell of their own farts and American 16y.olds cum buckets every time a new muscle cars comes out. why cant we have nice things like wrench reports, hektik-stories etc. why is this board so cancerous

If it's a DD and you care about being comfy, then this should stop you.
I drove an old Elise a few times and, while they are indeed extremely fun, they are an absolute pain when you are not in the mood to carve turns like there is no tomorrow.
Every imperfection on the road goes directly to your back, it's not bad if you drive it once in a while and drive it just for the pleasure, but if you need to commute with it then it will make your mornings miserable in no time.

So, if it's a weekend car, then by all means go for it, but if it's a daily drive, then you might want to think twice about it.
>>
>>14715968
Thanks for honest opinion anon, of course i would not DD this because of various obvious reasons
>>
>>14715980
Well, then there is nothing stopping you, go for it!

Hello fellow aut/o/ enthusiasts! Especially you Australians!
I have a few questions for you, regarding the 80's Fords you guys enjoy. I'm seriously looking at importing them, I just got 10 quotes on 8 difference cars ranging from 5-15k for total price. Shipping to North Carolina!
I want to know what you think though about Ford of Australia cars!

Like, are these Falcons quite the lemon?
Is their EFI system reputable?
Do they have emission controlling systems on them?
Are there other models made by Ford in the 80s that are desirable?
Which engine would you have?
Is there still aftermarket support throughout Australia with these cars?
Do you think they were made to a degree that helps against small things like rattly interiors?
Were these the kind of cars young boyracers would buy, then dog to shit?
Have you ever put mustang parts on them?
Did Australians of this car's generation smoke a lot?
Would you like to own yourself a classic 80s Ford yourself?
Is it in your opinion, worth it to get the Automatic over the Manual?

And most importantly...
What breaks?

Get something with a carb'd v8 or dont bother imo
the xd/xe were available with a 302 or 351 cleveland
there is aftermarket but it isnt very large, and performance orientated parts arent exactly cheap. youll be out of pocket quite a bit having to import shit to america
yes, young guys have been beating the shit out of these cars for the last 20+ years
mustang parts... i dont know
manual is preferable over automatic but the c4 is still a stout transmission

>what breaks
anything that would break in a relatively 'bare bones' car of that vintage. easy to repair though.

Personally i wouldnt have anything newer than an XC falcon, though that does depend on what you plan on doing with the car, XD's look really nice if you give them some love and they handle great as well.

Hey /o/, was doing the daily CL browse when I found this beauty a few days ago.
http://bellingham.craigslist.org/cto/5495269834.html
Thoughts? I was somewhat shopping for a 2nd car and now this is what I crave.
Have always had a liking for Mustangs but not the "muh V8s" meme that come along with muscle cars of that variety.
Anyone have any experience with them? Also what was your second car? Stories?

Garmin or TomTom?

After some Googling it looks like they're pretty much both very good. I've been using Garmin for years and I like them, but I've never tried a TomTom.

Have a basic bitch TomTom I bought like 7 years ago.

Still works fine. Came with free map upgrades for life so I keep it.
>>
I have an old tomtom XL, I don't even know how old it is because I was in small compartment at the trunk of an used SUV I bought.

It worked well for my trip to mexico, except the maps where a bit outdated because I didn't have a chance update them before I left.

Do I come across as upper class if I drive a Lincoln town car.

They're always used in big cities as luxury ride services vehicles.

So if they're good enough for company executives and CEOs are they good enough for me and my friends. Will they make us feel like we are in luxury.

How do you know how what kind of car you can afford? I'm 21 making ~50k a year but still drive the Colorado my dad bought me in hs I see so many people poorer than me with nice cars how do they afford them?

They budget their income to include a car they want. It's not that hard.
>>
They usually spend more on the car than they do other things. I actually used to know a guy who had a mid-00s BMW of some kind, and he just lived out of it.

Others will get some cut-rate used one and then neglect it until it dies, all the while wondering why it's making this horrible grinding noise after never changing their oil once.
>>
a lot of people live beyond there means

or know how to budget for what they want

also sacrifices..

Welp anon you are fucked. That car isnt common enough that you can find pieces anywhere. Have you searched yet? Start by looking for other karma owners see who can help. Its a shame that thats what you get for risking on being an early adopter.
